it doesn't imho. but it is always good to have options. about as dubious as tor if you ask me.

As has been the case since the birth of "bitcoin" .. you need to regularly backup your wallet.dat file. As every-time a new private key is created you need to back this up.
Generally speaking on first load the client will generate "100" private keys .. so as-long as you remained within that you should be fine.
Every-time you generate a new "stealth address" you definitely need to backup your wallet (any sub addresses generated by using that stealth address can we recovered from the keys of the stealth address and thus do not need a regular backup).

This is the reason we introduced HD wallet two months ago ... you now only need to remember your "mnemonic sentence" and you can derive every possible private key you will ever use from it.

If you have been unfortunate enough to have restored an old backup then I suggest you immediately move to the HD wallet. See my post of a few pages back on how to setup + transfer old coins.

and made a fresh install with bootstrap...

right now I am trying to synchronize blockchain from the beginning without using the bootstrap

That will work BUT is a super duper extreme fix.

1. "repairwallet" in console will fix it 99.999% of the time

If that fails, you can try :

2. "-rescan" during wallet load or "rescan=1" in shadowcoin.conf file and restart client; do not forget to remove it after it restarts otherwise it will rescan on each start-up.
