If we're going to use the term, it would be nice if everyone knew what "homomorphic" means. It sounds awful, like something that would be written in a psychiatrist's notebook after he examined a strangler.

I was checking out https://shapeshift.io/ after I heard they added ShadowCash to their list of coins.  They only have about 20 coins or so right now, so its a pretty big deal to have ShadowCash as one of them.

One cool feature I noticed on their site is under tools: https://shapeshift.io/tools.html

They have something called the "shifty button" which allows merchants to easily accept Shadow or other alt-coins and immediately convert them to Bitcoin.  This could help with merchant adoption.

They also have something called shapeshift lens, which is a browser plugin that allows you to pay bitcoin addresses with alt-coins like ShadowCash.

It's obviously. Crypto-knowledgeable criminal people around the world are starting create Shadow tokens for buying/selling drugs, weapons and radioactive substances using this one. Global darkmarkets SDC adoption is the next stage, criminal groups and organizations are seeking this method of payment very insistently

Does Gavin Andresen know the Shadow Team have a working (and stable ) NIZKPs implementation on a BTC blockchain??
You'll note his slide says "possibly practical!"
Please could somebody give him a poke Wink

p.s. and we already got a smurf too lol

I have to agree with post rynos posted above me.

It's all about trust and exposure. Seems like most traders are scared of alt coins but tables will turn when they see what shadow has to offer.

It will be epic when the time comes Smiley

I will add my 2 rynoshis as well.

Its important to remember how small this market is.  The market cap is tiny, only about $300,000 right now.  You can become the Winklevoss' of ShadowCash and own 1% of all the coins in existence for about a dozen bitcoins. Also, 1% of all coins in circulation is only about 65,000 SDC.  Don't forget this coin is no longer mined either, and inflation is much lower than bitcoin for years to come.

When the price dropped the other day, the daily volume was only about 30 btc.  The smaller the market cap a coin is, the higher the volatility.  Sure large holders/traders probably hold large % of SDC total supply.  As the price rises they will dump some, which is natural and good for distribution.  Some people complain that SDC distribution was done too fast in the first 3 weeks of POW stage.  But when you can buy 1% of the total SDC supply for a dozen bitcoins, its hard to justify the argument that its unfair distribution.  Anyone who can grasp the importance of this tech can get on board now very cheaply.

Just because someone decides they want to cash out 15 or 30 bitcoins worth of Shadow in one day, it does not effect the fundamental value of the coin.  The volatility also works both ways, and once people do find out about this coin, the price will likely skyrocket very very quickly.  A market buy of 50 btc sends the price above 30K satoshi right now.  There are a lot of Bitcoin early adopters who believe in privacy and freedom, and that is what Shadow is all about.  Once they find out about Shadow, expect a flood into this tiny coin and the dams to burst.

someone is in a hurry to get out of SDC.  who knows something the rest of us do not?
Not "someone", but the big talkers, the loud mouths on this forum. Since the zk announcement, pookie and longandshort disappeared along with another few aggressive ones. They are steadily dumping.
They appeared only when they thought there will be big gains for them trashing everything in their path and hurting shadow in the process. Zk implementation didn't rise the price for one reason or another so they are dumping.  But that's good. This gives the chance to other traders to buy SDC and leads to fair distribution. Once these loud mouths - big holders are gone, only then Shadow will prosper. Shadow needs traders and newcomers.
My respects to all the other members/traders.

There was a rise in SDC's marketcap from the Shadowsend release and there was also a major dump that stopped it.. If you didn't know there was something like 300,000 SDC stolen from the IRC tipbot back in December and those coincide with the dumping from 40k down to sub 20k right after the tipbot went missing in action.
Yes, I know about the incident. I'm a SDC daily trader and I follow the forum. I hold only about 10,000 SDC bought at .16 just in case.
The "problem" is that there is a pattern in trading SDC, which for me is good, but it doesn't help SDC at all.
Any time SDC is rising up to .24.25 or above at the same time a dump is expected and goes back to .17.18.19.20.
The price is not allowed to progressively rise. It is being stopped by the dumpers. So until know SDC's price is a reflection of the big holders-dumpers....nothing more.
It's a rule! It happens all the time, so until now it made me a lot of btc. I can't say the same about other coins.
This one keeps on being traded and the volume is ok but unlike other coins it never passes a certain barrier(very very rarely), which is a pity because the price of this coin should be at least 10 times higher...to start with.
Just to mention. This coin is not being dumped out of fear like other coins. SDC is dumped because of the big holders' need for cash.
I'm not in love with any coin, but I can say that SDC has a great potential...better than almost any other coin.
The coin can't take off in style, because there are big holders in need of cash dumping regularly when the price is rising a bit.
Too many big holders !!!!
However I'm sure it will settle in time. Probably some of the big players are almost out of the game and new traders are in.

Well that's a rather depressing analysis. OK there's some truth to it, but still why mention this now when things are "on the up"? #Grimmstoryteller.

AT least we agree the price should be much higher and as you've said new investors and Shadowers should bring in new energy.

Combined with a new stable wallet released yesterday, a new member of the dev team, (probably/99%) the best anon solution in the space, the upcoming Zeuner Review, ShadyBay, a built in P2P encrypted messaging system, a kick-ass roadmap including voice and file uploads and increasing interest from DarkMarkets I dont see what can keep Shadow down for much longer.

Anybody dumping at 40k should not expect the story to go as it did last time. Things are not as they were before. The stable wallet released yesterday (once it proves itself stable after a few days usage) on its own is a huge deal imo. Investors and Merchants should now have complete confidence in this Team's ability to deliver. Do I need to bother make mention of the difficulties Monero has had with these kinds of delicate stability issues? Our guys deliver the goods and this product is phenomenal. And (pending confirmation) stable.

We have a working NIZKPs implementation on a Bitcoin blockchain… this is the future. Zero Knowledge.
And all of this on a lightweight PoS network unencumbered by the drawbacks of inefficient PoW mining in ever-centralizing pools…

What are people waiting for?

Just my two rynos.

Ethercoin is one of those 2, between 550k and +750k ... Last week I was looking to for it 2 go under 500k  2 buy/sell but I decided not to take the risk anymore.

There's some gap between seeing it and doing it I noticed in daytrading, I'm a long trader (Or holder if mass adoption is coming like bitcoin)

why doesnt the Twitter account send out important announcement updates like new wallets, etc? I realize the wallet shows the announcements, but the Twitter account is sparsely used.

Interesting interview with Sam Patterson, developer for Open Bazaar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QikF1iwbrrc

Seems the questions he is asked about legal worries of creating a decentralized marketplace are relevant to the ShadowMarket project.

I have another wallet issue.  I set my wallet to load with windows startup.  It now goes blank every time it loads on windows startup.  Says I have a 0.00 balance.  No address.  No transactions.  I have to kill it and restart it.  This on top of the other issues I posted a few days ago.  Does this update fix that too?

Have you upgraded to latest? Currently 1.3.0.9

JAN 6
At this time I count roughly 42,000 shadow on the Chain Data. Lets see how quickly we can get to 420,000 Shadow and then to 1,000,000 (we should have a celebration for this milestone)
