Investing in basic coins is always a good investment for the future because the main coins form the whole market
I would suggest you to diversify your investments and buy Bitcoin and Ethereum both. But if you want to invest in ICOs, then it's better to buy more ETH than BTC for ease of MEW use.
Investment is always an individual decision , what to buy, when to buy, which coin, and a lot more indicators to be consider in any investment, the amount you will put in into investment, all of this should be consider before you make a final decision.good luck.

My suggestion for now might be buying a BTC is a good option, because altcoins in a market condition are being weakened
