Well you can because you can buy some altcoins using ethereum for example if you decided to buy all eth sold it to acquire some solaris(XLR) in exchanges for example in kucoin, ethereum begun to have a wide market this past year and it still expanding due to its smart contracts and it have many successful ICO's like NEO and other top coins you can find in the market not only that its not limited to only the top performing coins you can also buy some cheap coins that have huge potential to give you a lot of fortune in the coming years in crypto because this industry is still young and investing here is really a good choice.

Noo, I'm not going to do buy all with my money. putting all your money to ethereum will be risky. Better to divide your money and invest in several coins. we know that all crypto's are really volatile. But, I think you should invest in many places to reduce the risk.
