I wasted 5k on college, good thing I learned my mistake before wasting anymore.

Same here, although the amount was even more. Wasted 4 years and a lot of money. Should have done something else during that time.

I would say no unless you want one of the following careers. Something in Science, technology, engineering, or math. I think you could include teaching as a science but for the most part many of the humanities degrees are worthless.

I wouldn't say these degrees are worthless but the problem is that the world doesn't need so many people graduating out of their humanity degrees every year. People should consider the job prospects as well, when they enroll for a particular degree.

This question can not give a definite answer. If the author subsequently plans to find work in the office, then he must obtain a higher education. And if he wants to completely withdraw from the government and government money, then he can work on the Internet without education and receive big money

You should go to college, but don't take seriously everything they 'teach' to you, just try to graduate so that you can get a better job.

Wait until you find what you love in life. Then go try to work in that field without a degree- even if it's a janitor at the hospital when you want to be a doctor. A good few months of this will show you if you like the career path before you invest a ton of time, energy, and money.

The thing is, in this world today, holding a diploma or a degree is very important especially if you're looking at landing a job with decent pay. I mean sometimes, it doesn't even have to be connected with what you've studied for in college, as long as you have a degree, your stock will be boosted in companies you're applying at. So i think it's very important unless you're planning to have your own business.

You should go to college. As for my experience, there's a lot of opportunity that awaits if you are a degree holder. It is also an opportunity to learn what you love. College is more than just a way to get a high-paying job, it’s a way to enjoy life and become the person you were meant to be.

The question is not that hard as you might think. To many ppl think they are something better if they have finished a study but they are not!
You can make way more money even without. If you have a great idea/job you don't need to waste your time on studying, although if you don't studying is always a great option.

To answer this question you first need to know what you want to do in life because no one needs to find themselves in a career they do not love! Do not go to college for the sake of it, get educated and not schooled. If opportunity presents itself take it and go to college

Hi everyone,

What advice would you give a HS senior in US about to decide on and/or enter college ?

You really need to think about it. If you feel you don't need to, you don't need to force yourself. What we must give is not an advice but a push to make you decide.
Some people tend to make wrong choices because they had no one to talk them into getting a tertiary education so i guess a little bit of persuasion won't hurt especially if they are family, they will thank you in the future

why not...?
everybody should take an initial basic lesson from his or her family at the early age, but in the advanced level you must have to go school and college, if you want to study higher stage then you should go the University. so college is the fundamental stage of everybody life regarding learning many thinks.
