I've noticed that it isn't in real time the data feed, there is an average lag of 4-7 minutes, is it possible to fix it slush?

You're using old version (0.1), right? websocket library used in this release was really bad, 0.2 fixes this and I see everything in real time now (usually even faster than #bitcoin-market).

Downloaded it and got it working. Perfect! Now I can get nervous about the market's status by the minute!  Cheesy (Got tabs for 1 day, 60 min and 1 min)

You can even configure SierraChart to make a sound when price crash under 1$ :-)

Click "Chart" on the menu bar, and then select "Intraday Bar Periods" and pick something like 1 hour.

The click "Chart" again and select "Chart Settings", go to the "Graph Type" box and select "Candlestick" it will change what you are seeing to something that is probably a lot more familiar, and certainly more pleasant to look at.

Or you can type something like "60" (without quotes) to fast dial of 60min timeframe Smiley.

Whoa!  That's great Smiley

Hi

Can anyone help explain what these chart movements mean:

It's because of big market spread: When somebody do big sell order and push price down and then somebody decide to buy a coin, there will be such step in price as you posted on image - current price after sell is low, but nearer ask price is on the top of the spread.

Why settle for the lesser evil?
Hi

Can anyone help explain what these chart movements mean:

I gather that a green line means that the market is being pushed up and red down. I have marked two places on the chart to help clarify things:

1. Someone makes a big sell order, the order cannot be filled at the spot price so the seller pushes the market lower as he sells at lower prices. How does this work?

In the case shown above, did the seller put a sell order in to sell at every price above $6.61 and was able to sell at all the higher prices and stop at 6.61?

2. How come the price immediately goes back up to 6.95? Has someone added an order in between the last sell?

any help appreciated

Sierrachart is proprietary software and I didn't find any documentation how to write real data feeds (or enable internal DOM + trading features). Current mtgox plugin is 'hack' mis-using sierrachart's realtime file update, but I have no idea how to push market depth into application.
If you know another charting software with open API (or even opensource!), I can modify plugin to work with it. But I'm SierraChart customer for long time, so I wrote plugin primary for it.
There is Amibroker with free API, it is a commercial software.
from their website
OPEN ARCHITECTURE - we provide a FREE API (application programming interface) that enables to link to any data vendor. The API comes with source code of actual indicator and data plugins. There is also extensive OLE/ActiveX automation interface available.
http://www.amibroker.com/
you can also develop an autotrading interface, i know very well amibroker, i used it in the last 4 years, maybe i can help, i'm not a programmer but i know its AFL scripting fairly well.

sorry Slush. i'm a non techie.  could u list specifically these 2 steps?:

3. Start feed in a console (no parameters required, list of all parameters: sierrachartfeed.exe --help)
4. Start SierraChart software

Open the file named sierrachartfeed-0.2.exe (http://mining.bitcoin.cz/media/download/sierrachartfeed-0.2.exe). You'll notice a "command prompt" like window open (don't close this!), once this is open, open up SierraChart (once installed, it'll make a shortcut on your desktop).

Hope that helps
then click to IC button (sierra chart toolbar) and select mtgoxUSD.scid

You're doing it wrong. Simply run the script and then open data file in sierrachart.
