Based on what I have witnessed in some compulsive gamblers, they usually see some of all these signs when they are gambling but they ignore it and don't bother to make a correction, they keep ignoring it until they can no longer control it because it has become a habit. At least if a gambler begins to notice all this symptoms, they should either take a brake from gambling for some time or seek a advice from someone that can help them.

When you have feeling that you can get back your loses and youre are always positive that you can make good return after all even you spend too much and most of the results of your bets are not good ,probably that's what we called the addiction.  I mean such those people who are not taking it for fun only but to achieve something on gambling, which is they keep playing even its impossible as they're not good on it.  For me that's the sign of addiction came from .Cheesy
That urge of always trying so hard to think how to beat the system and make good profit from them is one level of addiction that some people don't take very seriously; on the other hand, those who also keep on chasing their losses trying to get back all that they have spent on the casino keep on losing money while trying to do that, and the more money they lose, the more difficult it becomes to ever recover that loss, and this keeps them in between all they do is make money and spend it in the casino, all in the make of chasing their losses; they just get stuck there.
This is the most serious problem leading to gambling addiction, chasing after loses. People often neglect it and sees it as nothing perhaps it is the motherboard of addiction. I could see some guys in the casino or gambling hall after much more loses, they refuse to go Instead they hang around still hoping they could win back the amount they spend Andor lose or even win higher, which is impossible as they  thought. And this Leed to serious gambling addiction. I will advise that sometimes when the possibility of wining back is difficult, it is better to call it off than trying to fight a lost battle.

#5 Financial issues: Once you start going out of your way to gamble even if you no longer have money, you have some serious addiction going now. Some will sell their belongings and even borrow money if it meant they could gamble.

A normal gambler may spend some of their extra money on gambling activities. But when their losses are more than they are willing to spend, they stop. Pathological gambling (addiction) is characterized by an inability to control or stop gambling and will continue gambling even after losing more money than the gambler can afford. These gambling losses can put the gambler in debt or risk assets such as the gambler’s car or home.

The losses are much deeper than just going broke from gambling.

Gambling addiction often takes a long time to develop, and as the gambler spends more time on it, other activities suffer. They neglect relationships, family responsibilities, and home. They frequently miss work. They neglect meetings and other important commitments. Or they may gamble while at work, or when they should be sleeping or interacting with their family

I think the main sign of addiction is when you choose your addiction over responsibilities that will effect your life.  For example, the guy who gets fired from his job because he won't stop looking at sports books all day at work.  Then maybe he doesn't get a job because he thinks he can gamble himself to riches.  Then he loses his house, his family, and ends up on the street.  That is addiction.  There are plenty of less dramatic examples, but I think that highlights it.  Everything can be fun, but there's a reason people say everything in moderation.

I think that's virtually the height of addiction, I know there are more lesser cases like you said but when you are irresponsible to that level then your own case of addiction is something that the closest person to you should get to worry about because if such habit is left unchecked then leaving your family out in the streets is just an understatement as that kind of irresponsible gambling can even lead to forcefully taking something things just to meet up with that urge.

#4 Inability to stop

One of the main indications is this, on which there's really that a time that you do find yourself having some issues about stopping
then this is really indeed a solid sign that you are already that addicted into it. Usually people do make out those kind of stopping situation is on the
moment or time that they had already lost everything.

Never ever consider yourself on trying out to make use of those funds on which are intended for other use. If you do find yourself having such
issue then better stop immediately because if not then it will really be bringing out that kind of devastation when it comes into finances.
So it will really be that better if you will really be having that kind of possibility on wrecking up your life if you wont be wise on taking up such action.

True that, followed by piling up of debts due to gambling.  People who have sign of gambling addiction often borrow money from their friends, relatives and any people they know since they can't control the urge to gamble, the moment they emptied their bankroll, they will look for way to continue playing and that is borrowing money.

Another sign is using the money that is allocated for essential needs for gambling activities and while they are playing they tend to do an uncontrolled increase of bet size.  And the funny thing about people who have signs of gambling addiction is that they feel remorse about their gambling activity and yet they can't stop gambling.

We always talk about gambling addiction here in forum but it all seems vague. What are actually signs or symptoms of gambling addiction that you can try and detect from yourself or other people?
...Beware of these signs and detect gambling addictions early on so that you don’t fall in too deep.

I think it's impossible to cure gambling addiction on your own, just like an addict can't heal on his own. I have heard that there is a drug treatment for gambling, but I do not understand the principle of its action. The only way to cure gambling addiction is through psychotherapeutic rehabilitation.

Yes of course and that's why it's hard for me to recover from gambling addiction, the reason is because addiction is a disease that exists in a person's mind where they have unreasonable beliefs and hopes in a place that runs based on probability, so it takes help from others at least to help make addicted gamblers aware that they have misunderstood how to deal with gambling, but I will also say that most likely curing gambling addiction can only be done alone considering how difficult it is for addicted gamblers to accept various suggestions given by others.

Honestly, I am also a gambler who used to be addicted, so I know enough about what is more likely for an addicted gambler to recover, but yes, maybe for some people it is different.

#4 Inability to stop: I can gamble and still stop when I’ve had enough. Gambling addicts might not be able to do that. They will continue gambling and maybe even make up excuses for it such as “I will just take back what I lost” and many more.

#5 Financial issues: Once you start going out of your way to gamble even if you no longer have money, you have some serious addiction going now. Some will sell their belongings and even borrow money if it meant they could gamble.

All sign you have listed here are good sign of gambling addiction but I chose the number 4 and 5, as they are more likely to be a good example or sign of addiction. The inability to stop gamble often happens When people panic as a result of lost and due to that reason, they end up chasing there lose and lose more. This Leeds to addiction. On the contrary another factor Leeding to addiction is hoping to be Wealthy from gambling, It increases the chances of addiction.

Addiction starts from the thought of wanting to make a win at all costs which would be able to cover up for their loses, and after playing for a while, they'll eventually realized that they've gone too far and the only choice are to quite like a coward or gamble to luckily hit the jackpot. But sometimes being that coward will save you from more destruction, its better to quite after realizing than to keep playing because the possibilities of recovery all that you've lost is almost impossible especially when you want it at all cost which is likely to make the gambler gamble irresponsibly.

#1 Mood swings: It’s normal to feel excitement or disappointment when gambling but extreme emotions due to gambling results that you are unable to shake off is not normal. Additionally, if one is irritable when they can’t gamble, that is probably a sign of gambling addiction already.
Sign and symptoms of been an addiction to a gambling have a several ways, because one thing about the gambling is that, a moment you starting to they lose money when ever you bet in gambling you will be have some feelings that let you try another bet another may be it can be bring a lot of positive outcomes.

And what’s making some people’s to become addicted in gambling is that, if there wining every time they have play a bet they will be thinking that’s how they will continue to they win in gambling and that’s some become addicted to the gambling easily.

OgNasty I assume I know what you wanted to say here, but the sentence as you phrased it is problematic. I think most of the time people who are seriously addicted don't get to choose in the truest sense of the word. I have had experiences with addicted people due to my occupational exposure and I had to draw the conclusion that choice is not what these people are confronted with in their worst moments. It's like unstoppable train for them and that applies to all possible addictions across the board.

Your point was that when things get out of balance and someone neglects responsibility while falling victim again for their addiction or a habit that is inherently harmful, then it is definitely worth the term addiction. The signs are manyfold, but most of them have been mentioned already.

You're talking about physical signs, the way someone does in life, but there are also attitudes that a gambler expresses outside and these are visible long before they get in actual trouble like heavy debt, being fired and all that.

Most important sign to those that know gamblers is denial, or ignorance. They will either lie to your face that they're in control, that they can earn back the money and so on, or they will say that they don't care, they're unable to change, it's their nature, they can't do anything about it and they won't.

I think, when they feel comfortable when gambling and make them come back again and again to gamble, then it will be a sign of a deeper addiction. But before that happens, at least curiosity can also be an early sign that someone will become addicted to gambling. Because after all, with that curiosity will make him always try to get the target of winning in gambling. Well, when they get a win according to or just close to the target, then they will easily gamble again and again the next day.
One of the easiest ways to notice gambling addiction is the strong urge to gamble even when you are not supposed to do so especially at that point in time. Gambling is supposed to be a leisure activity and not to be taken too seriously like a job or a money making routine. Infact spending too much time gambling is also a common sign of addiction.
Of course every gambler has his own methods and routines for gambling however developing the wrong habits like over staking is something you should never overlook as a gambler. Addiction most times isn't noticed till it's late.

You are right about what you said, I will also add that addiction is something you can't do without it. Addiction is anything that causes you to lose concentration over things that are more important than what you regularly do, and if you can't leave it for another thing for days or weeks we can say that person is addicted to it. Such as a drunker who always in a bottle at all times is addiction.

In some ways, you will discover that you're getting addicted being a sensitive gambler, while some may not sense this until it begin to show all over them or when others notify them for addiction, but being a professional gambler, who understand what he does and how he could responsibly enjoy gambling without much complications, they would have seen it while coming before it hits them at unaware, that is where its also necessary that we make some precautions in other for us to gamble responsibly.

Beware of these signs and detect gambling addictions early on so that you don’t fall in too deep. What other signs do you think we should be wary of?

Besides all the points you've mentioned, I'd like to add that the concern of people around you is one of the sign that you are addicted to gambling. Gamblers will always deny that they are addicted its the concern of the people that a lot of things change in your behavior.
So if you do a check on your behavior one of the sign is people around you thinking and believing that you are doing it too much, even though you are denying it.
Come to think that not all gamblers will really be that exposing themselves into someone on what are the things that they are dealing online. Therefore it is really that unlikely that someone will really be giving out some advises that they should stop as they cant be able to see someone that they are involving with gambling not unless if you have told someone or letting others see on what you are doing then this one is really that a considerable thing that needs up for you to have that kind of act on the time or moment that other people do say that you have already spending up too much in gambling. You wont really be that mindful too much if you dont see someone who do make up those words because you will really be mainly be focusing into the things on what up into your front.

Yeah, getting a misplaced priority is the worst stage of addiction, and a high level of irresponsible gambling, for goodness sake how can someone abandon his or her primary responsibilities and via into gambling while at work, most employers don't like such things, and if anyone one employee is caught in that act he gets fired without a second thought.

To avoid such harsh reality that is why most companies include in their rules of engagement for their staff that gambling is highly prohibited at work and in fact if the investigation reveals that staff engages in gambling at all both at home or work he gets the same punishment, all this is put in place to discourage individuals from gambling and avoiding potential gambling addictions.

Actually it is really that possibile, it all matters on somones mindset and self control. It is really just that majority of those who are addicted with gambling would really be having such issue because they would really be that having that fix mindset about being that going for the sake of money making without trying out to realize on what gambling is all about. They do really just that simply talking about profits without baring up on the risks involved. On the time or moment that you do already spending up the money on which you cant afford to lose then this do really already signifies that you do have that addiction. Its not really that easy to quit or stop but doesnt mean that you cant be able to do by yourself, it all matters into your thinking whether you do stop or not accordingly.
