You can be addicted in gambling you don't but you don't have a financial issue being addicted in gambling does not mean that you may involve yourself in financial issue the thing is that what makes people to be addicted in gambling is based on there are curious to make money through gambling but the process whereby you are not curious to make money through gambling you participate in gambling with precaution without being greed it is because of greediness that makes some people to participate in gambling and they spend their money on necessarily and on the process of spending their money they will not remember that that does not have a backup

That's exactly the point. If someone cries out for help, then you can possibly guide them if you have solution to their issues but If you don't, then you can refer them to something that can help them. I just don't know why some people doesn't realize it until it's too late.

This makes it easier for me to relate this with the case of a patient who had identified their medical conditions and accepted to visit a doctor or physician for treatment. The only reason why you see such patient in the hospital for the first place is because they've agreed within themselves that they are sick and requires a treatment and that the only place to seek for a medical attention is a medical centre like the hospital.

There are several ways in which gamblers can be assisted out of their addictive condition but the first step into achieving that is when the gambler accepts their condition and is ready to make mends to their problems. This is when you can help them out through your ways or strategies.
Inability for us to stop gambling or control ourselves is one of the ways we can know that we have become addicted to gambling. Gambling addiction is a behavior that starts gradually and when we don't try as much as possible to get ride if it, we could suddenly starts enjoying gambling, that for those that are making profits from gambling but for those that don't always, they will be complaining but still don't have the urge to stop. Addiction is one of the disadvantages of being a gambler. We ought to work on ourselves if we want to be a successful gambling. Being disciplined is never easy, that's why we would keep seeing gamblers complaining of not making profit.

When gamblers admit that their involvement is at the stage of addiction, it is much easier for us to help cure the addiction because basically they already have the desire to stop, it's just that they don't know where to start to stop gambling.

If they have the intention to stop, we can direct them to do other activities that are much more productive and the family can control or supervise the excessive spending activities that they use. Thus, their own intention is also strong to stop and is helped by those closest to them to get out of addiction.

Well, if that's the case, you can not help such person that doesn't even see anything wrong in what they are doing. I use to say that, "it's easier to help a gambling addict who has already admitted that they want to change from their bad habits of gambling than help an addict that tells you that he or she is not addicted." You can try to help someone who is an addict but doesn't want and every effort you put to help the person will be in vain because they don't actually need it.
You are right in this because usually gamblers will justify themselves that their involvement is not at the stage of addiction even though if you look further they have spent a lot of money or even their property on gambling. When gamblers admit that their involvement is at the stage of addiction, it is much easier for us to help cure the addiction because basically they already have the desire to stop, it's just that they don't know where to start to stop gambling.

As addiction deepens, gamblers may start to increase the amount of money or time they spend gambling, believing they need to take bigger risks in order to experience the same rush. They’re betting higher amounts than before, or feel an urge to chase losses.

Gambling addiction often leads to poor decision-making. Making decisions that don't make sense financially or personally, gambling addiction may be at the core of it.

Neglecting everyday responsibilities whether it's work, relationships, or self-care because gambling takes precedence. If you’re missing work, skipping family events, or not keeping up with other commitments due to gambling, this is a major red flag.

You are right, the more deep gamblers get into the addiction the more they want to take big risks, it's funny that some people don't even do this to get back what they have lost they do it to just satisfy the urge of gambling. This is the dopamine effect gambling has on the brain, when you no longer care about winning or losing and all you care about is gambling to satisfy the desire you have till your account is completely empty. This condition is terrible and might be very dangerous. There's also the category of those that gamble continuously to chase what they have lost. It's a sick idea to chase what you have lost by gambling more, it's all part of the addiction syndrome.

Based on what I have witnessed in some compulsive gamblers, they usually see some of all these signs when they are gambling but they ignore it and don't bother to make a correction, they keep ignoring it until they can no longer control it because it has become a habit. At least if a gambler begins to notice all this symptoms, they should either take a brake from gambling for some time or seek a advice from someone that can help them.
Gambling addicts are in denial. Even if we clearly see them struggling to control their addiction, still they would defend theirselves that they are not addicts, but are only gambling just to entertain theirselves. And when they can’t no longer control their addiction anymore, after they have ruined their lives and break their personal relationships, that’s when the time that they will admit to theirselves that they’re completely helpless and hopeless. And even wish to have their support system, their family, to be always around them.

Well, if that's the case, you can not help such person that doesn't even see anything wrong in what they are doing. I use to say that, "it's easier to help a gambling addict who has already admitted that they want to change from their bad habits of gambling than help an addict that tells you that he or she is not addicted." We always talk about gambling addiction here in forum but it all seems vague. What are actually signs or symptoms of gambling addiction that you can try and detect from yourself or other people?

#1 Mood swings: It’s normal to feel excitement or disappointment when gambling but extreme emotions due to gambling results that you are unable to shake off is not normal. Additionally, if one is irritable when they can’t gamble, that is probably a sign of gambling addiction already.

#2 Preoccupation/Isolation: If you constantly find yourself obsessing over your past gambling experiences and planning on what or how to do it next, you might have an addiction already. Similarly, if you can’t socialize anymore since you are just thinking about gambling then that is also not normal and should not be happening. One may even purposely avoid their friends and family to gamble or think about gambling.

#3: Denial/Concealment: Most addicts are in denial. They would never admit to having a problem. However they probably subconsciously feel that something is wrong or at least there is something they should not be doing. If you are hiding your gambling habits from friends or families, you might already know deep down that there is an addiction already.

#4 Inability to stop: I can gamble and still stop when I’ve had enough. Gambling addicts might not be able to do that. They will continue gambling and maybe even make up excuses for it such as “I will just take back what I lost” and many more.

#5 Financial issues: Once you start going out of your way to gamble even if you no longer have money, you have some serious addiction going now. Some will sell their belongings and even borrow money if it meant they could gamble.

Beware of these signs and detect gambling addictions early on so that you don’t fall in too deep. What other signs do you think we should be wary of?

I think that extreme mood swings linked to gambling results, preoccupation with gambling to the point of neglecting social interactions, and hiding or denying gambling habits are important symptoms that we may notice. However, it's necessary to ask an expert for a detailed diagnosis and to understand what steps to take next...Huh Some people may think gambling addiction is far from reality, but trust me, even if you are confident in yourself, you need to be extremely careful while playing because if you don't gamble responsibly, you may fall victim to it Sad

That is a problem that each individual is looking for, the initial wrong mindset where they most likely fully expect gambling that thinks it will be able to give them profits in a short time makes them trapped, how does that happen? The mindset that hopes for gambling tends to make players unable to accept disappointing results, such as losing the money that is bet while losing or losing is something that is certain to happen. Unfortunately they are trapped by their own mindset. Unfortunately when they are addicted, there are indeed many bad impacts that occur and sometimes annoyingly there are other people who do not know anything are also affected by their addiction, the impact of addiction is not a trivial thing, therefore if we do have friends, family who still gamble, don't forget to remind them not to be too excessive in gambling, try to stay in good self-control whether it's mindset, emotions, anger or actions.

It seems to me that when the game is not going well, then someone's advice will not be taken properly. When a series of failures has started, then you think about how to win back what you have lost, and the worst decision at this time will be to rush to make new bets, because in a hurry new mistakes will be made, more does not mean better. You will need to understand this yourself without someone's advice, or even accept the fact that not everyone is capable of winning at bets...

I am sure that you are saying someone who is irresponsible in gambling where they only want to win but are not ready for the risk of losing and of course isn't that a loser's mentality? Yes I think it is very appropriate to say that, and of course I also agree with your statement that it does happen and is done by gamblers who are not able to be responsible. More does not mean better, yes that is very true, and I think they should re-evaluate and also re-recognize what and how gambling really is, all of that must be done in order to achieve the awareness that in gambling you will not win every time, self-acceptance and a responsible mentality are really needed so that everything does not get worse.

It’s hard to truly understand the feeling of addiction if we haven’t experienced it ourselves. Sure, what you’re describing could be symptoms, but just having a few of them doesn’t mean we’re automatically addicted. Our behavior often shifts depending on the situation, especially when things don’t go as expected. It’s frustrating to think that just because our mood changes or we’re low on funds, it automatically means we’re addicted. To me, this is a normal reaction when anyone loses control or feels desperate after a loss.

Of course, we don’t need to let things get to that point. Instead, we should take steps to prevent it from escalating further because that can lead to the worse scenario.

I think it is very important for us to know the symptoms of the symptoms you mentioned so that we can at least prevent family and friends from getting involved further in gambling, as @Oluwa-btc said is true, because so far gambling often has an impact on financial problems that eventually make a person depressed and unable to control their anger, so it is important to understand that gambling addiction is a serious problem that can have a wide impact on life Someone and I think it's interrelated with each other, anger, anxiety, and depression, so someone who is addicted and trapped in a cycle of defeat can no longer control their emotions which in the end actually destroys every relationship that has been have.

One big problem about some addicted is that they don't realise and agree that they are addicted to gambling. Even when you try to show them the symptoms of addiction, they will argue with you and tell you that they are just gambling because of the love they have for the game, so don't be surprised if I tell you that those signs you think most of them saw and overlooked might actually not be pictured the same way you think they saw it.
Those who gamble themselves know that not everyone in society sees gambling as normal. That is why they always try to hide the fact of gambling. And because of this, it is difficult to guess about a gambler. Even a family member may not know that he is a gambler. In this situation, it can be difficult to find out the aspects of an addicted gambler. Because if you do not know about a person's gambling, you cannot know more about whether he is addicted or not. However, I have observed a person I know very well. Although he did not open the matter of gambling, I was convinced by some of his signs that he is definitely addicted to gambling. If an addicted gambler is told about his addiction, they never agree to accept it. They always try to keep themselves alone and conduct gambling by hiding themselves. I think an addicted gambler does not keep much contact with others, including his family or close friends.

I think there are series of addiction signs and symptoms which have been a major concern, talk more of anger and restless state, one sign of an addicted gambler is that the person is prone to anger and violence and at such you find them being vulnerable to people around them and the society, another is having Lost alot to gambling and can't recover back depression it's another sign.

Of all the points you iterated above, the inability to stop is the most important one I know and it is this that brings about the others like the mood, financial ruin etc. At the very detection moment that one likes to gamble and gamble and the person is losing and still does not stop after a concerning period is the very moment he should sense possible danger. This is the best time to pull oneself out of it before it is too late.

But our minds still play a key role here, some people have weak minds, while others have strong minds. So the one you have will determine how easy and effective you will be able to achieve control. I advise those with weak minds to seek help as soon as possible.

Really hate to say this but mostly it becasue of the emotion can lead into a addiction. This is exactly what happened to me

These 3 always happen to ma all the time I repeat ALL THE TIME I always thinking that I could win but heck at the end I just lost it all  Cry

Different gamblers respond to addiction Differently. To me, once a gambler starts to become restless when he doesn't have the opportunity to gamble either because there's no money, his devices are bad or he can't access a physical gambling platform, then he should watch out, that's an obvious red flag. Gambling should not give anyone that much tension.

I have never been addicted to gambling myself, but i have been addicted to the social media and I believe this is also how it feels like to be addicted to gambling. I become so restless when I cannot access the Internet, when my phone is off and when the social media isn't working. It affected my emotions and personal life. I knew everything wasn't just right.  I detected early and took the decision to stay disciplined on the social media space. Yea, this worked for me.

Once any gambler begins to gamble like his life depends on it, he should take a break for the sake of his mental health.

maybe the symptoms will be a little different from other people, and OP has written the symptoms that are common to gambling addicts, so don't deny that we ourselves are addicted to gambling, and immediately realize, addiction is not only financial but forgetting time just because you are busy gambling

In general, becoming addicted to gambling is not an on and off thing which happens immediately and unexpectedly, it is a process which builds up slowly with each time the person decides to increase their gambling budget or their wager for their sessions.
Most gamblers who are addicted to throwing money to casinos are not even aware they have a problem, until someone tells them or they realize (when it is already too late). Perhaps, that is why it is so important for people who casually gamble to have people around them (like family members or friends) who can say when one starts to cross red lines and act recklessly with one's money.

An addicted gambler can never admits that he's addicted like how an alcoholic will never agree that alcoholic is bad and that he's drunk. When encountering gambling addicts, you don't have to confront them that they're addicts but there are other ways that we can use and get a friendly environment to try to help the individual. Signs of a gambling addicts have to do with how much they have used for gambling, looking from their bankrolled, we can estimate how addicted they're because a gambling addict would had  gamble too much money that you'll begin to question if they're abnormal or have the same thought of a human like others because they mightn't not have money for food and other essentials things but they're always having money to gamble that they continue to lose and repeat the same routine over again. Looking at the hours they spend gambling, says alot too.
