IIRC Freebitcoin and Bitcoinzebra faucet both charge 0.01 BTC per ad per day. That is huge considering the amount of ads that they display on a daily basis. Mind you, they charge just for displaying the ad. If the site has a referral program, they may also use their own ID for referral commission as well. Even if they charge 0.01 / ad and there are 10 ads on their site every day (which seems to be the case) thats 0.1 btc / day and 3 BTC / Month, not including possible referral earnings. Also since freebitcoin offers a multiplier option, many people just go ahead and lose back the free satoshi that their earn. That goes back into their funds. They clearly had the first mover advantage and made huge profits due to the same!  Cheesy

Where did you find info about 0.01 for day?

Info from freebitcoin: "Our advertising rates have been lowered by 50% to only $0.12 per 1,000 banner impressions."

Freebitcoin - $0.12 per 1,000 views - 1 view = 734 satoshi = $0.002 * 1000 = $2

they have 2 banners so 2*$0.12 = $0.24

$2 - $0.24 = $-1.76 - and this have to be covered from to ads from AdSense.. no way! Wink

Bitcoinzebra - i don't want comment now.. I thin that they will be down soon.. (this is only my opinion)

You can always go to a-ads and see for yourself...

Any link? I was using a-ads and never had clear info about earnings. Payment was dust. But maybe I did something wrong? Can someone say bit more about a-ads?

In your first few days you only get few satoshi per day even if you get thousands of visitors. I was aggressive about this too

Just give the banner time. And the show starts.
A-ads will cover most of your expenses
It will generate more than 100 times of what it generated in its 1st day with the same amount of traffic

Also they get CRAZY amount of traffic , they are the most visited faucet so every ad they have makes them great amount of money. There are two type of ads , the ones you get and hope to get good clicks on them and make money and there are ones like a-ads where you sell it beforehand and even if they do not get clicks you are already paid , the second one makes them decent amount of money.

Do you have any example - how much you can get from A-Ads? From for example 10k views? I always was sure that more money is from AdSesne (clicks) than from other services..

Can you tell me where is secret? If freebitco.in is giving money how they make money? (Please don't tell me that they have money from AdSense)
as fas as i know there is an option to gamble, maybe from there they get money

You gamble there, with btc that they give you, so even if you lose, you are losing just that what they gave you.. They can only lose more if you win Smiley

A faucet owner might not get rich but freebitco.in is probably making more money then some wall street guys out there.

There is ALWAYS a demand for it if you are giving out free money.

is faucet still profitable for owners these days
Dependant on your traffic and rewards, they can still be profitable. Don't expect to get rich from running one though, because it won't happen.

Not sure about faucets, but I know PTCs like BitVisitor or CoinAd have to make money. I once advertised on BitVisitor and it was indredibly expensive for what the visitor's are actually making visiting the site. They are making huge margins.
I've found that BtcClicks give a nice amount of traffic for the price that they charge, I tend to use that for fast referrals and such.

PTC do charge a high amount because they are forcing earners to watch the site for a some seconds. You could advertise cheaply by bidding for ad-slots or buying impressions using a-ads. a-ads is a good one which I have ever found and you can bid for even for 1 Satoshi!
