I do not sell all my altcoins. I still have the litecoin and Monero. I also mine the Ethereum. The price could be higher.

It seems the Ethereum is a good coin. The price just reached a new all time high recently. It is uncer active development.

Keeping track of all different alt coin wallets was annoying Angry And I don't trust exchanges.

I'm ready for liftoff.

Are you?

(of course I had never more than ~5% in alts)

It's your decision, but I think after liftoff you will buy same coins again, and again with 5 % of your stash.
Of course if you play good that 5 % in alts will worth much more then now.
Good work I think, with nice amount invested there is good earning in this kind of trading.
I wish you good luck with this.

I'm expecting bitcoin to hit $800. At what price did you buy your bitcoin, and how much? Because you won't be satisfied unless you invest more than a bitcoin. Smiley

I think that $800 is an underestimate. I could well hit over 1 million dollars over the long term. However, how soon or how late(the timing) this happens will be a mystery to us right now. Also when it happens, fiat will pretty much be worth nothing.

I think that getting rid of altcoins is a pretty good decision. Altcoins for the short term and bitcoin for the long term.

I do not think the bitcoin price will hit $1 million within 15 years. It could be in 20 to 30 years, or longer.
I find it very hard to believe bitcoin will reach 1 billion at all.
Yes bitcoin is the real deal, but this estimate is rather dreamy then realistic. But we have to wait and see...

The bitcoin price of 1 million dollar is not too difficult to imagine. It depends on its adoption by the general public.

Might be a good idea to sell alts for now and get back in later yeah.  Im still holding a little LTC at the moment, it can move so high and fast as we have seen in history many times its worth the hedge. Other than that im all in.
In my case, I would not sell all my alts for bitcoins, I need to keep them because I believe in their potential. I have alts like waves, DAO, and LISK, this is the big three and will dominate in the future in altcoins.

It is nice that you are going to all in with Bitcoin and that is also maybe that you are seeing that Bitcoin is getting more popular and used, and even the value of Bitcoin is now rising.
So that is perfect for the people with already Bitcoin, they already waited a long time to sell it.

yeah when you check price of 2 or 3 different altcoins it gets annoying and boring and of course hard, and soon you would get confused by all these prices so you won't get any profit

and good that you have all money in bitcoins now as bitcoins is actually bet crypto i think because it is oldest and most expensive, and of course most of people use it
The difference with altcoins and bitcoins is that bitcoins is trusted and price is currently high to buy and save in the long term. On the other hand, altcoins are cheaper and if you can spot a good project you can hold it for long term and with its potential the price will be high, you might earn x10 of your original investment.

I trust bitcoin more than any other altcoin. Most altcoins are just scams to rip us off. I have invested in those before.

Good luck! The halving's in a few weeks, but be careful. There might be a dump straight after a price spike, so beware.

Very nice decision you have made there. Altcoins(most of them anyway) serve no purpose as a cryptocurrency as bitcoin has already covered all the technology that it uses, and a lot are just blatant pump and dump schemes.

Exchanges should not be trusted, an example would be Mt Gox and Cryptsy. Ready for take off sir!

Some altcoins are diffrent from the bitcoin. They serve different purposes. The Monero is an anonymous coin.

that is great news i think bitcoin will replace all kind of things except paypal off course that is a to busy paying method that is used for years now. Many people like paypal because of their secured paying method and i like that also more then bitcoins.

bitcoin will not replace paypal. When bitcoin becomes popular, the Paypal will integrate the bitcoin.

Bitcoin's market cap is already bigger then Paypal, also the mount of transactions (in volume), so paypal can integrate bitcoin, but bitcoin will be the larger one.

Same as bitcoin is the real thing when you compared it to altcoins. Sure ETH, LISK, DAO got some real good code, but everybody knows bitcoin, merchants, consumers etc. It will takes ages
before an altcoin can achieve that.

Bitcoin's market cap and that of Paypal is not comparable. Bitcoin is money, Paypal is a company.

and even btc has no "property" is free everyone could use it or develop , with paypal there are a lot of limitations Sad

Many people are going to use Bitcoin more indeed and that is because they see that Bitcoin have a better value and also they see that you can earn some money with it so that is nice.
But you never know of course what the value will be and that is the problem of the currency.
I still prefer not to rely on bitcoin alone, like you said we never know the future of bitcoins, it may be bad or good for us. And regardless of what will happen in the future at we have a back up like altcoins.

Well altcoins can make it faster for profit. Very easy to gain more bitcoin using this kind of coins. I do invest some my satoshis in other coins. One example is ETH look at its price now. Easy gain for just waiting to grow up.

I mine the altcoin with graphics cards. I mainly mine the Ethereum at the moment. It is more profitable.
