It is not that bad indeed to make a full investment in Bitcoin as you can see you see also that Bitcoin is getting more popular and more used and even also more acceptable.
So that is nice but you never know only what there will happen with the value and that is the problem, sometime you have to take some risks and that can be bad for you.

Selling altcoin could be a good idea. Now, even the most popular altcoin, the Ethereum is dropping in price.
Selling of your Altcoin should follow a simple rule. You should buy them again when their price is lower and keep this process of trading as a part time. You have to be attentive all times to make the right move with this.

I still have some Ethereum and Monero. These are the only altcoins I have. Both have very useful features.

Find yourself a good community and you will soon distinguish where you have opportunity and where you don't. But for this you'll need a time for learning how hype works and what makes a coin price to rise..Bigger money can be made in alts.

depends, I also often sell all altcoin I have, but I sell them at high prices. just like playing trading, I sold it for bitcoin, and buy altcoin when the price is low back, as it continually until I produced a lot of bitcoin  Grin

You are absolutely a good trader. Must have earned good already I guess. We have the same strategy in trading, the golden rule always applied in this gamble. Buy low then sell high.

That the basic in trading so that you can profit no matter what its just that sometimes its hard to see which alt coin to investment and which is not because of the hype of some altcoin users/investors.

i will never go fully out of altcoin market because there is a lot of good coins there to but and hold short time for a big profit but now is a very good time to go mostly in bitcoin because of the price rise because of the halving and other things that will happen soon.

Sure you can always have an eye on a few alts, especially after a sell out. I mean who doesn't like to buy bottoms and wait for the next increase to go out with profit.
But now we will see SegWit coming, the latest version of core with some nice features has already been released, probably a functional version of LN in summer, maybe schnoor signatures which will help for scaling as well and of course finally the halving.
So holding your biggest chunk in Bitcoin could be prudent!

i agree. a lot of good things are about to happen to bitcoin which can all be the starting point for the big price increase that we are waiting for.
i just checked the release notes of the new version all the softfork implementations look good in it

Selling the Alt coins to BTC is also one of the methods people are thinking to have more Bitcoins in their hands to get the advantage of halving
in near future. So investment is bitcoin is coming from all directions

Selling altcoin could be a good idea. Now, even the most popular altcoin, the Ethereum is dropping in price.

Sell your Alt coins all at once is not a wise decision. If you are in trading business you have to sell when

1 - you see the price is very high to get profit
2- Price is droping too low that if u missed the selling , you may get further loss.

Nice Advice. It means not only sell at high price to get profit but  also selling at lower price to avoid loss.  Wink

Its been bullish facing all those crazy things.

So if it were to fail on us now, it would have to be some severly drastic making us unable to reach our current balances or something.

IMO, the alt coin scene is a den of vipers looking to prey on the wild eyed vulnerabilities of those looking to make a quick buck. Some continue to fall for the next coin and then the next after they've been burned thinking there's always a chance at a moonshot that never comes. They fall for the PR and videos that scammers put out and then they part w/ precious bitcoins for that chance to make more that typically ends w/ them losing. People, don't waste your time on anything besides bitcoin, you'll regret it. There's only room for one sheriff in this town.

I think this post is trustworthy because you're one of the few persons who actually spells 'losing' correctly.

Are you absolutely sure about that? I'll guess alot of traders don't even know what mining means.

Yes. The SegWit will be implemented in a few weeks according to the road map. That will increase the price.

Keeping track of all different alt coin wallets was annoying Angry And I don't trust exchanges.

I'm ready for liftoff.

Are you?

(of course I had never more than ~5% in alts)

Not a big difference if you had 5% only in alts or not, it is still good idea to go from alts to bitcoin only,  because bitcoins is probably best coin

Not because it is old, but because it is easy to predict price, for example price rise in July after halving, but anyway it is good that you sold your alts

Altcoins are too exciting to not at least trade a little.  I agree that most should be in BTC as it solid growth.

I don't think anyone should be keeping anything on any of the exchanges. And that includes altcoins.  I just trade the major ones that have convenient wallets.  I don't trust any of the exchanges.

Weren't there some coins on places like Cryptsy that didn't even have functioning block chains any more? If I'm trading little amounts there's no way I'm gonna bother with a proper wallet. I'll take the risk with the exchange.
