I would agree that losing against Darmstadt 98 was the deal breaker for Augsburg coach, but ironically my prediction for the question is Darmstadt coach to get the boot first so, perhaps If Augsburg had won that game is there any possibility that a coach would have been sacked regardless but it would have been the opposite way, and that would have been 4 bonus points for me, but I guess we'll never.
In case Darmstadt98 would have lost in Augsburg, I believe there would have been no danger for Darmstadt's coach to get sacked because
- Augsburg is a team to be known for being strong at home
- Darmstadt came from 2nd league and is expected to be a safe relegation candidate = losing in Augsburg would be as expected
- Darmstadt played a (comparably) really nice season so far, where Darmstadt won already against Bremen and achieved a good draw against Galdbach, netting 7 points already (4 before Augsburg), bringing Darmstadt way above expectations = no reason to sack coach

except if they are team you followed their game through the preseason and anticipate a struggle this much from them.

that is my point here, I don't see Augsburg struggling, looking at their position on the table, I found them to be happy to finish on position 15 in the end, can't say that they are Europe position, or even mid-table candidate

and struggling by these parameters would be all loses so far, not 5 points and being on pos.15 Smiley
but what a heck, they decided on that, and it is over
will be interesting to see what will this change with their fate, maybe they will relegate after all

I mean Koeln really is in trouble in all respects that the table has to offer.
And Köln's aspirations are way above Augsburg's aspirations, so I was very surprised as well to see Augsburg's coach getting sacked. Augsburg is our average relegation candidate, where it's absolutely not surprising to see them, where they are currently.
Maybe, behind the scenes, some more trouble was abrewing, specifically with coach Enrico Maaßen and Augsburg's loss against Darmstadt at home just was the last nail in the coffin for Enrico Maaßen.

I believe this question a really tough one, to answers and it's just pure luck not out of personal conviction, except if they are team you followed their game through the preseason and anticipate a struggle this much from them.

Wow, that's really early, especially for Augsburg, where 5 earned points so far are not that bad. Maybe the loss at home against Darmstadt, a direct competitor for relegation, must have been very devastating for Augsburg internally.

TBH, didn't expect that from Augsburg, and with 10 tries, I would probably not put Augsburg for this question, so nothing to be sorry about
Mainz holding steady, and Koeln too, with much worse situation on the table

Darmstadt lose is certainly a bad one to have, and being at home even worse, due to Augsburg taking most points at home, but they were pretty fast to decide to sack manager
let's see will that bring them better times

Same here, I was pretty sure that for as long as Augsburg is literally not in the relegation zone, it would not be the Augsburg coach who gets sacked first when there are teams like Koeln and Mainz below them. There is nothing wrong about sacking the coach, it's ok given the situation in Augsburg, but just from a rational point of view I would have expected the Koeln coach to get sacked before the Augsburg coach. I mean Koeln really is in trouble in all respects that the table has to offer.

it's official and fc augsburg is the first club to sack its coach this season.
the club parted ways with Enrico Maaßen last night. augsburg is in 15th place in the table after 7 games with 5 points (1 win, 2 draws, 4 defeats).

and so we have already answered the first bonus question. this means that Trofo, Little Mouse, -Lemming- and Betwrong will be credited with 4 more points on the scoreboard.
Nice, those extra 4 points came really handy to close the gap with the leader. Now I am just 1 point behind and my team got extra morale boost. Did not even consider I would get any of those tougher bonus question right.

International break now, meh..can't wait for proper football to start again.

And here we are, first coach got sacked and it's not Mainz or Bremen. Köln's coach might also get sacked soon.  Cheesy

So, Bard AI has helped me to earn 3 points in the latest Matchday:

It's not like Bard predicted the correct score. Bard predicted a 3-1 win for Bayern Munich in the FC Bayern Munich vs SC Freiburg, but since it said: "but it could be a close match", I predicted 4-1 and was right about the Goal Difference and therefore earned 3 points. I'm happy with the result, to be honest. Probably will be using Bard more for my future predictions. (I hope it's not against the rules).

I am totally sure that Bard won't give you an edge. It is as much rolling the dice as everyone else is who has a good grasp of the teams and the league. At best, I would say. I think knowing a league and knowing some of the minor details of every team already gives you an edge over the AI. This might change in the future, but not for now.

Next season we could add some accounts and operate them with AI and see what the results are at the end of the season. Could be worth a little experiment although I am quite sure what the outcome will be.

Wow, nice bet! To be honest, taking into account how frivolously Bayern plays in defense, for me the maximum score without conceding goals for them is 3-0. If I thought they would score 4 I would have gone for 4-1.
Do you often place such bets (on the exact score and with such huge odds as 70)? I’m thinking about starting to place bets on the exact score, but so far I can’t understand what kind of payback prospects such bets have.

I don't place such bets often. However it is really nice to try this kind of bets from time to time. The chance of having high winnings with low amount attracts people. About Bayern Munich topic I wish I also thought the same as you at the beginning of the match. If you place bets on score predictions don't forget to share please. Smiley

I wanted to prepare a betslip with the score predictions I made in the pool. As a matter of fact I was almost going to predict the score of the Bayer Leverkusen - Koln match as well if I wasn't late. I can't believe that my betslip lost by Bayern Munich's only one goal. Coman scored the 3rd goal in the 85th minute so I got excited as there was time. But that last goal I needed didn't come. Sad

I was seconds away from betting against Leipzig but saved myself money tonight (actually saved money lots of places across Europe haha).

Does anyone know the Sportsbet odds for Freiburg tomorrow? Kicktipp showed a massive 19/1 yesterday but the books I'm on have suspended 1x2 since yesterday. Strange? A win for them would be a massive boost to the rest of Bundesliga pretenders.

Mainz have chance tonight to get one step closer to sucking Bo, while Koeln is almost secure to lose in Leverkusen

Scally broke their hearts, a point buys him even more time away but I'm keeping my bets firmly against them.

I am not sure what it was precisely but I think I saw it was around 12/1 or so when I checked the odds. But I really wouldn't have bet any on Freiburg as they are not in sufficient form to beat Bayern these days. It is a bit different from last season when Freiburg was able to beat anyone, but they are trailing behind the form from last season.

But Leipzig was an intense game. I only read that they missed two penalties. Respect if you had chosen to bet on Leipzig not winning the game.

Impressive to see how both Stuttgart and Leverkusen can't be stopped. I wonder for how long they'll stay on track.

thanks for a heads-up, being a little lazy last few days to put picks

will this be a home run round, with home teams being considerable favorites in almost all matches during weekend, except Werder that will have tough job against Hoffenheim

Thank you for the reminder! kicktipp open on my browser since last night, not even sure why I've not submitted picks yet. I guess after Freiburg's loss last night (to a good Hammers team it should be said) I now wonder if it's wise to continue my undying support for Breisgau Brasilianer.

Kane let me down in UCL, BVB too, should that form carry you think?
