the 5th matchday has just ended and we can congratulate casperBGD on his first matchday win this season. with a remarkable 25 points he secures the sportsbet.io free bet, which will be credited to his account tomorrow - congratulations for that! Smiley
~

25 points is a very cool result (and as far as I understand, the best so far this season?) I join in the congratulations.

~
at the top of the table no changes - morvillz7z could even extend a small lead over his pursuers

~

Maybe there are no changes in the sense of first place, but I finally got lucky in some games with an accurate score and I immediately shot up 7 places all the way to second place. Not bad  Cool But we must admit that it was an easy round and almost no one scored less than 10 points.

@Betwrong things can't get any worse than they did for both of us and we must and can only improve. those 4 points from last weekend that was my worst performance ever in a pool - it can't go on like this Lips sealed
so buckle up so slowly - efialtis has already kicked off and we both will do it next weekend then Grin

@cygan, you've moved 4 positions up.  Not a bad performance. Not so much from my side. When it seemed like there was nowhere to go further down, I managed to go down one position more. Smiley

And efi, with that pace of his, he'll be up soon, I'm sure.

Why didn't I put more trust in my favourite German team. I knew they were going to win by a wide margin, but I predicted 4-0, and they won 7-0. Next time I'll have more faith in them. I hope they won't let me down. Smiley

Freiburg is going to really cost me, huh. Problem is, be stubborn or change my ways and miss out on potential great points when they finally wake up?

Also, new to me now I'm following Bundesliga is that Kane's "hattrick" isn't really considered one in Germany. Read the rules and it sounds pretty complicated (but I understand the concept of wanting a "purer" form of a hattrick).

Pack of 3 will have to do for you, Kane.

-snip

who would say that this GW will be that good for me
25 points is above any expectations, only Union Berlin had to lose (what is up with Hoffenheim, four wins in a row), otherwise would have all picks good

Kane is scoring, but Guirassy is on 2 goals per game so far, which is remarkable, with Boniface also above 1 goal per match, it will be a good race for Top scorer

am I the only one that thinks that Augsburg is really good at home, and Mainz should not be a favorite there
even Bayern has difficulties from time-to-time to win in Augsburg, looking at Mainz form, would not say that they should expect a win there

although, looking at my placement so far, maybe it is just my wrong judgement

Stuttgart just scored third one, but it is dismissed for off-side after VAR, 2:1 for now

Possibly, but Mainz should better get some points against Augsburg, a relegation contender. Striker Ajorque is back now and probably, he needs some game practice to get as efficient as he has been last season. Onisiwo should play as well.
Buuuut for you which coach is getting sacked first bet, it looks like Heidel (Mainz Manager) wants to keep Bo Svensson:

FSV Mainz 05: Heidel does not want a trainer discussion.

Of course, after a devastating loss against Augsburg, a relegation contender, Svensson could still get sacked.
After their weak first half against Darmstadt98, Gladbach is also a candidate, to get Seoane sacked.

Yeah I think the worse here is a draw, and they were expecting bad results with the layoffs. What clues me in, though, are the odds. Despite supposedly maimed and even relegation favs. their odds in the starting season matches have rarely climbed above 25/10. So despite what Bo or Helder say, their fans must feel that they were point to win that they didn't... and that pressure changes things overnight.

Of course, I also recognise I'm spouting absolute bullshit =)

Gladbach, being objective, does seem the one at likelier risk.

Friday is going to be busy, so many picks to make, solittle time to sit down and review potential effects from European competition but I decided to enter these picks early. Am provably (not probably? haha) going to be stubborn and stick by Freiburg (1-1 right now at HT away in Greece), why, because Doan must wake up!

He even got correct score on Bayern game, kudos efialtis, not an easy feet to predict that.

Wow! 22 points. Congrats, @efialtis! I'm very happy for you, mate. You aren't going to stay at the bottom for too long , aren't you? Smiley I know you wouldn't be there at all if you didn't miss round 1 and 2. Amazing job!

I've only got half of your points this time

And yet it's a good achievement for me. If I was getting 11 points each round I'd have 44 points total right now, and I have only 39. Will try at least to stay on this level in the future matchdays. You are inspiration to us all, efi.

What a sprint and climb from Omikifuse man!, 20 points an a ton of positions climbed.
~

Everyone is in a very tight group - from first place to 17th there are only 10 points. Therefore, it is not surprising that Omikifuse, having scored an average of 10 points more than everyone else in the top half, rose so sharply. I can imagine if something like this happens in the last round and someone makes +10 positions and ends up in first place  Cheesy

This was indeed insane by Omikifuse and it is also encouraging when someone falls behind a bit (like me Tongue). But for me it is 8 points to the first and now when you see what a jump Omikifuse made with one extraordinary round, 8 points is of course nothing.

But guys I admit that I was already celebrating what big cojones I had to go for both Heidenheim and Darmstadt to win their games when Darmstadt took the 3 goal lead! HAHA! I couldn't believe it, but it became even funnier. In the BSFL I needed Darmstadt to not lose, win the point against my opponent and get automatically promoted into division 1 for the next season. That's why I placed a big hedge on Gladbach when they were down at odds 23 I think and then later at odds 34 again. When Gladbach hit the 3-3, I really didn't care and was actually hoping for them to score the winner. Fun round for sure!

Well, I know it's easy to say in hindsight but their midfield has always been suspect and Kane is the spearhead hiding that. Leverkusen is easily inferior to many more opponents in Germany and in Europe. Bayern going to have a hard time. Too bad we didn't win our bets, eh, KTChampions?
~

Grin Yep. Another result that is neither in favor of those who bet on the favorite nor in favor of those who catch the victories of the underdogs.
Dortmund, as always, played a clown match (judging by the dynamics of the score), but it’s good that at least everything ended in victory. In general, there are a lot of random results and I am surprised that I show results no worse than the poll average.

@buwaytress I am not against stalking per se. Please be so kind and let me know your sex! Tongue

Going to clear payment tomorrow and then you can send over the link and I'll put in my picks (or you can send me the link already, but count me in 100%). I didn't have the time yet to fully read the new rules with the odds and stuff, but tomorrow is the day!

Back to topic.

Interesting how differently the Bundesliga pools made their choices for the Heidenheim - Bremen game. In the German pool a little more than a fifth picked a win for Heidenheim whereas almost half the English Bundesliga pool picked a win for Heidenheim. Seems the real pros come from abroad! Wink

I did. Impressive smash on all the games and the sole person to pick the Bayern draw exact! I really regret seeing Freiburg 2-1 up. Their red card didn't do anyone any favours.

He missed the first two rounds, as 1miau noted, lucky us Wink

Calling it a restart factor is interesting, but what makes you guys so sure that this will be more in favor of Bayern than in favor of Bayer? I will also go with Bayern here for our Bundesliga pool because betting against Bayern when they play at home is usually not a smart thing to do in a competitive environment, but I am seriously hoping and believing that there is a slight chance for Leverkusen to cause some headaches for Bayern. But yes at the same time I wouldn't bet a fortune against Bayern scoring 5 goals. If it's one of those days they will also beat a strong Leverkusen team with a -3 or -4 handicap.

thank you for the invitation i really appreciate it Smiley
but since i'm already managing/participating in the two bl-pools and the fpl from icopress and also want to push my project Icarus further, i wouldn't do myself any favors with another pool and would unfortunately have to cancel... Undecided

I understand! Icarus looks interesting. I must give it a read some time. BIP38, never tried!

Haha I was looking at Omikifuse and was jealous of him because of his 18 points despite getting Bayern vs. Leverkusen game wrong and despite the fact that I myself am creeping around at the bottom of the table. But BTCGOSU, wtf is going on? Cheesy

BTCGOSU forgot to submit his picks for round 1 and 2, which is very painful to miss such points but his awesome result is also a good argument to keep submitting weekly picks, even after missing some rounds because of yellow caps. And it's still early where making up lost points is still easily possible.  Smiley

This makes it even more astonishing and embarrassing for me. He failed to submit so many games and could theoretically catch up with me today... What was the most points someone ever got on one matchday?
