Yes its one of the best tracks in the calendar, also this year its most important because we dont had race the last season, for the heavy rain.
I dont have favorites because i dont know how much the teams improves in  this break.

There are two weeks left for the upcoming race which is in Spa, Belgium. This is one of the lovely races in the calendar in my opinion. Verstappen might be seen as the favourite driver to win this race because he is the last winner of this Grand Prix. Leclerc has had really unlucky races in the recent times as well. However I'm still having a big difficulty in making a choice between them for the win. There is still a long time to think about that of course. Leclerc must be aware that he has a slim chance for the championship from now on. But I still expect him to do his best as F1 is always full of surprises.  Smiley

Yes Swogerino but i really think that is a old thinking, for me the retirement of driver its more a self imposed, you can drive so fast until your 50.
In the 50 maybe you have a significant drop in your time of reaction, but keep in mind now we hace so profesional drivers and more than drivers they are also sportsmans men really well trained, so if also in the football players are pushing the limits of the retirement (you can see how Zlatan CR7 Messi can still doing so well) and Lebron James or Ginobili in the NBA, only imagine in a sport with a much less atleticism requeriment.

Yes really strange movements in the F1 market, so if you are correct, Ricciardo come back to Renault/Alpine?.

Today i read one mega suposition, in this they said, Toto Wolf make a big part in the deal between Alonso and Aston Martin, thinking to have Alonso for the 2024 season in Mercedes....

As much as I would love to see Alonso with Mercedes I doubt that he can perform as well as Hamilton and Russell because of his age at 2024 which will be 43 and that honestly is an age where rarely I have seen drivers performing well including Michael Schumacher.

Having said that I would love for him to be offered a seat at Mercedes and end his career with a title as I am sure that despite his age if he gets a winning car he will mostly go and win with it but this is what I want to see and not the reality.

Interesting things are going on in F1 these days. Piastri was announced with Alpine for the next season first. However Piastri said that he didn't even have any idea about this and added that he wasn't going to drive for Alpine then. In addition to this news, he is even likely to join McLaren next season to take Ricciardo's seat. If this happens we can see Ricciardo at Alpine at the same time. This is surprising to me to be honest because I was seeing Piastri as a future Alpine driver.

Now we have 9 races to go in this season. Verstappen is already 80 points ahead of Leclerc and this is a huge advantage for the championship now. I would like to remind you of something from the previous season that Hamilton caught up with Verstappen from a very serious point gap and lost the championship by literally the last lap in the last race. I wonder if Leclerc also can catch up with Verstappen but it is really difficult at this point. Even if Leclerc shows his best ever performance Ferrari are creating obstacles for him.

Well Hamilton is a 7 times World Champion which is clearly with a lot more experience than Leclerc and beside that,Mercedes improved the car insanely in the second part of the season,if there were another couple of races the last season Hamilton would have also been Champions for the 8th time. The only way I see Leclerc closing the gap is if Redbull gets reliability problems as I doubt very much Verstappen can make a lot of errors in the remaining part of the season,he has the luxury of finishing 2nd or 3rd for quite some many races and still keep a comfortable lead even if Leclerc wins the races, that should say it all, chances are almost 0 for Leclerc to win this F1 season.

Hamilton was actually going to win the title for the 8th time if it wasn't for controversial decisions in the last moments of the Abu Dhabi GP. You have a point there by saying that Hamilton is a much more experienced driver. But still something is really different in Leclerc. His driving style is very similar to the style of an experienced driver. He sometimes makes mistakes but this happens to every driver sooner or later. The most important thing is to learn from his mistakes and not to repeat them. He has made some in this season as well but the current situation is definitely Ferrari's fault.

I real feel sorry for Leclerc, he drive amazing and he is 80 point behind with only 9 races to end the season. I dont think he can catch Max Verstappen.

In other related thing to Ferrari i cant belive the realiability of his engine, Leclerc its now using his 8 exaust, its the only in the limit of a new sanction, for all of those who dont know, you can use 8 exaust per season. A few drivers are only in his second exaust for example.

So all the parts of the engine are shit.

will try to do it, but it would be too much Smiley
nevertheless, finally getting into top3 in this pool table, hopefully could stay there until the end, had a rough start, but it is getting better now

there is too much pools these days, keep joining day by day, will probably think in October why I needed all these pools, but it looks as great fun atm

Nothing is too much in these pools, and I do see a trend of leaders getting points to stay in place for a while, might even see if I would follow your picks for a bit after a couple more races.

And definitely no such thing as too many pools haha. I think if you put in picks way ahead for some of them (football anyway) it becomes more manageable Wink

Well, the summer break its painfull, but at least we have the come back of the football to keep using Superbru.

Related of F1 i see one graphics what show the average pace of the drivers in the Hungaroring, and the best pace was for......... Charles Leclerc followed by Max Verstappen at 0.05 s and Hamilton at 0.1 second.
So you can see how bad was that strategy and how good was the Ferrari pace.

I think this was clear,Leclerc was the most performing driver with the medium tires but Ferrari just wanted to screw everything up with their not so well thought strategy by going with the hard tires. The hard tires never came to temperature because of the cold weather in the Hungaroring track and thus he suffered a lot of overtaking even from drivers with slower pace than him.Ferrari made a big mistake on this one because they had data if they were paying attention to the Alpine cars which suffered really big with those tires.

Back to my sub-10 point racing week, but have to admit, my fault for going with even less than gut on that one, you get what you get, deserve it too Wink

Not sure last time I saw over half the table overlapped!

Also, the Brits did do as well as they showed in practice, even better in fact.

Honestly I did not expect these many points from today race at 11.5 especially when Ferrari screw it up big time for I don't know how many times is this.I don't know and I am not a Leclerc fan but I honestly feel sorry for him,he seems to get all the possible bad luck and even when he is driving a perfect race which he was doing today the team made a huge mistake by giving him hard tires when they had telemetry data from the Alpine team that they were struggling with these tires a lot. That was the biggest mistake for me that Ferrari has made even bigger than Monaco this one.It is a sure thing now that 99.99% the winner of this season will be Max Verstappen and the upcoming tracks sure do not favor Ferrari like this one did.

This race was really something else right before a long break in the season. To be honest I was expecting Leclerc to win this race after seeing his very determined performance. But everything collapsed in a short time after his second pit indeed. Leclerc was very angry with the tyres after the pit. It was another tactical mistake by Ferrari I'm afraid. I really don't understand how they still can't find a solution to this kind of simple mistakes. It is like they are trying their best to prevent Leclerc from being the champions.

Congrats casperBGD, Free Bet coming your way!

thanks, it is a second in a row

It was such a wonderful race! I'm actually sad to see Leclerc missing another opportunity to win a race.
~snip

yeah, sad for LeClerc, and probably end of race for Max, another title is already served
Sainz finished above Perez, but Mercedes took two position on podium, they are back, and probably be better next season

Really interesting race to see, and always the weather keeping us vigilant, i really want some rain in the last laps for a chaos, but still a very good race.

Ferrari........ i think they need to change the whole team of engineers and head.

But most important thing, now we can say Mercedes its back on track.
