I have missed Formula 1 a lot during this summer break.  Cheesy  Seeing Norris being favoured for the Dutch GP doesn't make me surprised at all. There is a significant change in balances you know.

Red Bull isn't the number 1 team anymore. McLaren has taken the lead about that. But they still need to work harder to show it in constructor standings also. I see their winning the title this season quite realistic.

Because Red Bull has to deal with the Perez truth. He has no help to the team this season. Verstappen carried the team on his shoulders last season but that isn't happening in this one clearly.

Verstappen likes driving the Dutch Grand Prix, this is his home country and he needs to win maximum points to keep the first place.
Norris is dangerously close in second place, he was 2nd place last year in Dutch Grand Prix, and difference is even smaller in team points with Mclaren and Ferrari just behind Red Bull.

Lando Norris @ 2.75

Max Verstappen @ 2.85

After Red Bull started the season dominantly just as it was in the previous years, I thought we would watch a boring season again to be honest. However especially the improvement McLaren has made in their car has changed the direction of the season completely. When we think about Perez's performance so far, it looks very difficult for Red Bull to win the constructors title. And Norris still has a lot of opportunities ahead to catch up with Verstappen.

No idea if it's good or bad, only time will tell but personally, I don't see it as a really big move.

Pros: Williams not doing well so he can prove himself as a driver (if they get more points with him, it's kinda proof right?

Cons: How far more can Sainz go with Williams?

I can't put my finger on it either, I think Sainz is better than the Williams, but it was probably his only chance to stay in Formula 1, if you sit out a year it can happen that you don't get a seat at all, at Williams he just has to score one or two points to get back into a better team.

About Perez topic as I said before, he is showing a terrible performance at Red Bull. However as the sponsorship support for him is strong, the team doesn't want to lose him. But he absolutely needs to improve his performance anyway. Otherwise Red Bull would be his final address in Formula 1.

I guess you are right about Sainz topic. As there wasn't any other available seat he wanted to stay in Formula 1. If he had an option to driver for a better team I guess he wouldn't miss the opportunity.

Long-term, I like Norris/Piastri the most.
Both are drivers with great potential, capable of winning titles in good cars.

Ferrari almost certainly sticks with Leclerc as their #1, so let's see how Hamilton adapts to that. At first I thought it was more a marketing move than anything else, but he's proved me wrong in the last few races. He's still got what it takes.

Ufff man, that Ferrari line up for the next season is just fucking insane, a long way ahead of all the other teams.

Williams also recovering some quality with a very solid duo with Sainz and Albon, if they build a good car we can see some surprise coming from them.

Next F1 Season 2025 is going to look much different for some teams but Verstappen and Perez are both staying in Red Bull.
I think they made a mistake with Perez but more power to other teams and season should be more interesting to watch.
I want to see what Hamilton can do with Leclerc in team Ferrari, but question is who is coming to Mercedes instead of him.

The support is probably coming in the fact that no other driver can go along that well with Verstappen and also Verstappen has approved him as one of the best team mates he has had so far.

Yeah, because he's totally harmless for Verstappen's ambitions Grin
I know Verstappen wants him there, but he might cost them the constructors title this season.

By the way Sainz has signed a 2-year deal with Williams officially.

I like him as a driver and have said multiple times already that I feel he'd be a perfect replacement for Perez. Not sure what can he do at Williams, currently not much.

He is going to be teammates with Albon. What do you think about his career choice? To be honest I don't think this is a good step forward. It is actually the opposite when we think how much Williams is struggling. The good news is for Williams here because of getting rid of Sargeant.  Smiley  He has underperformed until this point. Sainz was expected to sign for Audi or Alpine first but now he ended up with Williams. At least the pressure won't be the same as Ferrari for him.
what other choices could he had to have? I think it can be a great waiting stone While waiting for the new teams to arrive or something, but I think he just really wants to be a driver so maybe he just gotten this Out of necessity of being an F1 driver. Because if you stop, then you won’t be driving with anyone.

I don’t expect much, but it would be amazing if he could really go the distance.

Verstappen hasn't scored full points in a few races now, but the competition is still some way behind and the clear rival who is also gaining points on Norris, for example, hasn't performed well enough in the last few races to be a real threat to Verstappen.

Everyone else is already a long way behind, we'll have to wait and see how the cars perform after the summer break, no team is going to stand still and Red Bull is in danger of losing the constructors' title compared to the drivers' title.

Still a lot of races to go, Verstappen can't feel comfortable anymore and Red Bull can already feel the heat.
The break is coming at a good time for them, they need to make some changes if they want to maintain the dominance.

They should have made the change with Perez, I really don't understand where the support for that guy is coming from.

The support is probably coming in the fact that no other driver can go along that well with Verstappen and also Verstappen has approved him as one of the best team mates he has had so far. That is enough to sparkle the support in the highest ranks of the team and to keep him until they see fit.Sure for the moment he is making them losing the contractor title as he is not doing anything to help in this context but most likely the team believes that he will be back in his winning ways once again. The break of the season came at the most unwanted time for me as normally things have heated up quite a bit and they can calm down dramatically now in every aspect the F1 sport has.

As there is a strong sponsorship support on Perez, Red Bull couldn't give up on him that easy. Besides he wasn't this bad last season however he is terrible this season. Even if they bring a rookie driver from F2 in his place, they would collect more points than him. It is sad but true. Red Bull has their constructor championship chance at risk from now on. There are still many races to take place in the season. McLaren is getting closer every time.  Smiley

Today it was already announced on Austrian radio that Perez will definitely finish this season at RedBull, and the contract with Perez until 2026 is also valid.

Horner clarifies the future of Sergio Perez

In any case, I hope Perez gets back on track and performs better than in the last few months.

I think now the smart bets is not winner anymore but maybe Podium finishes. So many weird concoctions in F1 this season, but honestly, we all like it right? I mean I was asking for it all season so now I have it, at least we get to enjoy each others mistakes in Superbru lol
Or maybe no F1 bets at all!? Cheesy
But yes we asked for competitive races and now we have them.
Really enjoying it even our pool got more competitive and everything is still wide open.

No F1 bets is probably the most wisest choice indeed. But I might as well say the same about football/soccer anyway lol

Sometimes I meet people who really enjoy sports, F1 especially, none of them bet. They jsut watch and argue, and then I wish I also was like them. No money, no worry, still fun. But now because of sports betting I feel like I have to bet SOME KIND of money to really enjoy lol

I'm bottom, but just enjoying the season now, maybe yellow cap Smiley

Somebody please give to the McLaren team the holy golden grail of stupidity,I thought Ferrari did badly enough with poor Leclerc but boy was I wrong, these guys here at McLaren are definitely porting stupidity and another level,I would say at another planet.Wow I am truly impressed of how much of an idiot you must be to have put poor Piastri in and give away victory to Mercedes,if Russell did it with a clearly a bit slower car than McLaren then McLaren could have definitely won this race, another one that it is ruined by such perfect architects of plain stupidity regarding a plan for the race, and I am a McLaren fan.
