Just wanted to pop in and hopefully remind people like myself that picks need to be made over the next few hours to not miss out Girona - Celta in about 4 hours.

It really is a sign of the times that I'm doubting Celta's ability to even score tonight as Girona has been one crazy upstart to the early season. Iago Aspas has been so dependable for so long that it was always natural their reliance on him would show and it certainly seems so now. My position is close enough to a prize spot that the choice isn't so easy to make.

This round was again a good round for me. I can't believe that I'm sitting on the third place of the table. I have never followed La Liga before except for the El Classico now and then. It would be great if Cadiz could score a goal so I get  three points but 1.5 is also OK. I hope I'll be able to keep up like this u tim the seasons end.

Almeria defense is complete joke.

agree completely, following them, and they are on the track to be worst defense in La Liga in long time, conceiving 3+ goals per match
even prime relegation candidates, as Elche last season, had losing 1:0 a lot, and Almeria is conceiving as there is no tomorrow

Gaya and Duro, 2:0 near half-time, Cadiz with 10 men, and xG 0.00 at this point, Valencia should have this win tonight

Damn Valenica, they always play opposite from my predictions  Roll Eyes
They are leading 2:0 against Cadiz and I had them for a 1:2 draw in Superbru.
This round was not that bad for me, but I hit the ground so hard last round that it is not so easy to recover and climb up the leaderboard.

Barca struggled against Athletic until Xavi made super substitution. Marc Guiu, probably not many of us have heard this name before. But this 17 year old teenager needed maybe only 15 seconds on pitch to score his debut goal for Barcelona in very important game. I alos must mention Joao Felix who made perfect assist. I was a bit sceptical about him joining Barca, but now I can admit that I was completely wrong. Now we are heading to El Clasico just 1 point behind Real.
Girona is something amazing. They were down 0:2 against Almeria after 24 minutes, but already before halftime they had 3:2 lead. In 2nd half they score 2 more goals and won 5:2. Almeria defense is complete joke.
And f*ck you Las Palmas. I had draw on this game and offcourse they had to foul in penalty area on 95th minute...

Last season I was also a newbie and things were going well for me, this year everything is much worse  Cheesy

yeah, experience does not make you smarter in this game, it is mostly based on luck (at least in beginning, if you are doing well after 3/4 season, than you can include tactics to stay up in the table)
~

Yes, luck (failure) is sometimes such that you simply can’t believe that this can happen. Last season, Serie A pole was the most unfortunate for me, but I literally fell behind the leaders only because I almost never guessed the exact score. Although in other pools this figure was normal.
As for the result of the Sevilla - Real game, I am surprised not only by the result itself, but also by the fact that statistically this is a fair outcome, since Sevilla was even a little better.

Betis and Real both drawing, as Betis was easier to predict, didn't expect Sevilla to hold Real, but they succeeded in that
still, can't say it is a bad round for me, seeing much worse lately

jeremypwr with 100 points is the first to reach that milestone after last night games while our previous champion leea is sitting 13 whole points away, so yes, I have to say it is mostly luck with close and precise scores making all the difference.

Interesting of all is that not a single person in our group went for draw or loss in Real Madrid, again proof that you just have to try get consistent with everyone, but hope your "exact" points come with luck.

Damn guys, yah international breaks not only bury topics on forum, even in my mind. Natural for me to watch Prem but even with BSFL reminder I somehow slipped to watch at least a little of Sevilla-Real. HT now but I'm out anyway so am just going to have to sit this out.

You're doing all right slackovic. It might be a motivation catalyst or downer to look at Superbru performance but believe me, it's much more luck than skill -- skill and knowledge ensures midtable, luck is what will propel you to a prize. Just keep consistent and wait for others to forget picks and/or get unlucky.

I think no  Wink In your case, it would be more profitable for Granada to win (if you do not take into account the most profitable option when you guess the exact score). Today, most forecasters received 1.5 points and thus you are 0.5 points behind a large group of people. Sometimes it’s better not to get any points at all, but at the same time so that others don’t get either  Grin

I don't know. This is my first time I'm competing in a pool so I'm still learning. The problem is that I have no idea how others have answered until the game starts or if I lock my answer. Implayed this way the entered season and so far it has brought me good result so I'll continue to do so.

This feature works the same for everyone, it would be strange if you could spy on other people’s forecasts - then the leaders would remain invulnerable. Or we would see “games” where people made fake predictions and then changed them at the last minute.

Damn it, this was easy win for Osasuna, and I hoped for a little surprise with boring draw in my Supebru predictions.
Last La Liga round was my worse result so far, and I dont think this can be repeated even if I wanted to do it  Grin
For tomorrow Real Madrid looks like a sure win for me, but Sevilla can always wake up when nobody is expecting it.

I see that Granada let down many forecasters (by not scoring their goal) and did not allow them to earn exact points. It’s quite illogical since Granada scores quite a lot of goals on average, while Osasuna concedes enough.
/snip

That's the reason why I went with a 3-2 win for Osasuna. I expected Osasuna to win but Granada played only two games this season without scoring a goal. Never mind, I like getting a point here. A point is always better than nothing Smiley

what an international break can do to a topic, it was a real deal to find it
on a page 7 in Gambling topic, with my post - going into International break as last one

nevertheless, Osasuna is breezing past Granada as expected (it does seem that this season has heavy favorites for relegation - Almeria and Granada, comparing to last season when half a league flighted for survival)

Sevilla is waiting for Real, in a match that can hardly be called a derby, hopefully it will prove me wrong

Seville - Real is interesting only because of the “signboard”, I think that Real should take 3 points without any problems. Surprises are possible in the Barcelona - Athletic game.

it looks to harsh and fast to give him pedal after less than 10 rounds this season
he took a European trophy last season after all, there is not many teams that can claim Europa league as their home venue, no matter form

can't say why, but I do think that La Liga is pretty much weaker this season, Barca and Real high above, Atletico will try to fight, all others being far away, although Girona shows some spirit, but it could be seen against Real what class difference there is
Valencia started solid, but it looks that we will have another grim season

going to international break

Goodbye Mendilibar. It was always coming, wasn't it? Think it was the costly points dropped in La Liga rather than UCL (since they would naturally prefer dropping to Europa, right, haha).

Can't quite decide if now's the time to spam them for a probable string of wins after this, or just bank on them losing until they get a new manager.

Edit: Found out it's Alonso. Don't know much. Meh.
Damn, in recent years Sevilla is changin their managers like socks. They don't give them much time. And it didn't looked that Mendilibar is there for long, he was appointed more just to save 22-23 season. Thisseason start was really disappointing, though, in Europa league everything goes by their plan, as Sevilla is 3rd in group now.
Only thing that I know about Alonso that he didn't managed to get out of group with Uruguay in World Cup. Somehow I doubt that he will be in Sevilla until end of season.

This was certainly one of the worst rounds I had in all my Superbru history  Tongue
I know La Liga had a lot of draw results this time, but having eight wrong predictions and only two points is embarrassing result for me.
Congrats to cls63 and other guys who made very good results this time, and I will eat with my wooden spoon.
Break in perfect time to recover from this disaster.
