i remember the Valencia derby, one of the best games this season for sure, but now the stakes are super high in this next derby. Tbh, I'd like to see Levante winning this game, just to make the relegation battle more interesting. Cadiz dropped points today so this is a great chance for Levante to get little a bit closer to 17th place

as a Valencia fan, I was on Levante side during the match, we basically had one shot on goal, and that was enough to lead all the way till 80 minutes, when we conceived goal and got draw in the end
did not checked exactly, but read that Valencia conceived most goals between 75 and 90 minutes, and that we would be in top4 if matches were 75 minutes, is it that hard to keep running after 75 minutes?

nevertheless, lost cup final is worse than this today

Sevilla are obssessed with giving up 2nd place, what a bunch of chokers, they're making it too easy for Barcelona and Atletico

Now watch those teams two drop points this weekend, ffs!  Roll Eyes  get ready for 'a fierce battle to not finish in top 4' (we premier league now lol), painful to watch if you're a fan, but it's top entertainment if you're a neutral  Grin  Anyway, best of luck this weekend, guys!

Valencia derby should be good - in first round it was awesome game and now Levante desperately need to win to stay in league.
Athletic - Atletico, maybe it won't be most beautiful game to watch, but it sounds interesting.

Incredible how once again Sevilla leaves points on the road without need, also incredible about Cadiz taking out a lot of "unexpected" points in recent weeks, like the 3 against Barcelona and this tie itself. It leaves them in a good position to continue fighting for permanence and with very high morale.

new round in Spain, and we have Sevilla tonight
they usually perform on Friday, and not on Monday, so home win should be expected, although it is a local Andalusian derby with Cadiz

there is no matches that look as "great to watch" this weekend, but Valencia city derby should be good and duel between Athletic and Atletico as well
Espanyol could use Real position to get a point maybe, what others think?
And offcourse Sevilla failed to win game where they were obvious favorites. Didn't watched game in full. but from what I saw, Sevilla didn't looked much better than Cadiz. If Barca and Sevilla will continue to eprform like now, Real is going to win league by 20 points, what will be humiliating.

Man guys I know it's not La Liga but I really really want Real to perform today, so we can meet them in the final, and Villareal to NOT perform tomorrow so we can meet Real in the final haha.

I probably shouldn't put more money than I already have on them (ML) so am a bit relieved odds are going down (I got them as high as 7.38), today was as low as 5.8 but now back to 6.3 so I'm hoping that's just because people are betting more and more money on City lines.

It could never happen since Liverpool supporters would not sell their tickets to opposing supporters that easy. I don't blame the club for this situation that much. They were selling the tickets directly and trough some agencies. All Barca tickets are transferable and Germans were willing to pay premium. They just bought a shitload of tickets from those agencies and Barca supporters that were not that interested in the game. I heard the tickets were going 3-4 times their initial price.

Am also reading about PSG ultras not even celebrating the title with their team. I mean, I totally get it. Fans can get disenchanted and if they're angry, they're angry, it's probably better to walk out than to go to the extent of attacking players like in Marseille during training, or like the ftards behind the Maguire bomb thing. Nothing can justify that. But yeah, even for me to attend a full game at Anfield in 2016, still needed to convince a season ticket holder (who couldn't attend) with a semi KYC on me haha. Which I totally understood and did absolutely.

Sorry off topic but can't imagine the repercussions at Anfield if they allowed half the stadium to be filled with away fans.

^Oh huh, I had no idea that whole thing happened at Camp Nou (just reading about it now), but that's bordering ridiculous (although seriously, if only half the stadium was filled with away fans and Barca fans got drowned out by... Frankfurt... that's another issue to be had all together).

It does remind me of the last local game I watched in 1999 though. My state team, the serious underdogs, won a place in the final against the best team in the land... which wasn't even from our country. 100% short small local lads versus a foreign club full of European imports haha. But on request of the other team, afraid of our fans, the FA broke tradition and played the game in a stadium far away from us, where you'd need to fly to (this was 1990s, where not everyone could afford plane tickets, and well, in my own family, almost no one had ever flown before).

Still, it ended up the stadium was overflowing, with loads more camped outside, and the other team fans all sat in one small VIP section.

We still lost, 2-1, and after the riots, that stadium was never used again until today for an official football game heh.

Sorry off topic but can't imagine the repercussions at Anfield if they allowed half the stadium to be filled with away fans.

Trouble in paradise all over again.

It's funny how Barcelona went from having a great season despite their horrendous start to the season, back to being horrible again, all in the space of a few games, and it all started with the lost to Frankfurt.

I'm just tearing my hair out man. It wasn't just about the Frankfurt loss, either, it was the anger from the fans that our club let our beloved stadium get overrun by the Germans. A total fiasco that reminded us just how bad and rotten our core of the club truly is and that it is far from getting fixed.

Shakes head, don't know what else to do.

Barca wasn't actually bad yesterday, they were unlucky. Rayo keeper was superb, Barca finishing was a bit off and Rayo scored the goal from their only shot in first 80 minutes. Too make things worse ref was quite bad and he agitated both teams. I don't know how that push towards the end of the game is not penalty.

That being said, Barca should never even be in sitation like this on theor own turf.

I would say that it's time to start thinking about upcoming season, it's not big difference we will finish 2nd or 3rd, but then I realized that with such perfromance we can drop out from Champions league spot.
@Harko described our season very well - from terrible to good and then terrible again. After all, our biggest achievement is beating Real 4:0 in Madrid. Sweet, but meaningless in general.

now that Real betis secured Europa League the 7th place in La liga will go to conference league. Bilbao and Villareal are the main candidates for that spot
Don't forget that Villarreal still can qualify to Champions league by winning this season Champions league Smiley.
yep, but let's be completely honest here, winning the whole thing? really now?  Cheesy

About the game today, i have to go with the majority and predict a home win, but i have a feeling Rayo won't go down without a fight, specially knowing that Barcelona are looking a bit shaky lately
Same here, and I know I am writing when Rayo is already leading 1:0 so it is a bit moot point. Barca obviously has a though time. I took both to score on the game @2.10, that seemed like free money to me and now I am just waiting for Barca to score. They will probably loose without scoring since my first ticket got busted by Napoli who had 2:0 lead and then conceded 3 goals in 10 minutes.

it is now 90+, and Barca is still 0:1
did not expected that, must say, expected goals, since Rayo is really down, but obviously, Barca is not in great shape either

nevertheless, down on penalty in a cup match, with Everton in relegation zone, not my weekend have to say
will be better in following weeks, hopefully

Damn it toma, stop predicting such nonsense stuff for Rayo.
oops 😂🤣   i never thought they'd be able to win today! Huh, it seems like it was all downhill for Barca after beating Madrid 4-0, no?

Man, i actually thought about dropping 20 bucks on Rayo @15 earlier today, just for fun, but i ended up going with Napoli -1 handicap and they lost (after that game i went on a little rant in the Serie A thread, lmao )

did not expected that, must say, expected goals, since Rayo is really down, but obviously, Barca is not in great shape either
i feel like even when they're not in their best form, they still have to beat the likes of Rayo and Cadiz at home, no excuses imo

Was doing so-so this weekend, but final bet still alive looks like it's going down the drain as needed Barca to lead by HT... and of course, they want to make life difficult for themselves. 15 minutes to go to score 2 and give me hope?

-- nice on for Betis, and exactly, Villareal can qualify for Champions League the way they did this season -- by winning their European final and beating English royalty =D

Yeah, final was great, as I said before game, chances for both teams is 50/50. It's not to right blame kid for missed penalty, I don't understand such managers decisions by releasing player without much experience for penalty shootout. You can become hero in such way, but more often you end up being zero.
Joaquin, what a legend indeed, his 2nd Copa with Betis after 17 years.
About Barca, yeah, our performance is shaky a bit, but I'm not sure how to call what Rayo is doing in recent months.

we can take the cup tomorrow, it is far from impossible
Betis is a good team, but they are not playing great lately, could even argue that putting them as favorites is a mistake, game could go any side

Barca against Rayo, really expecting goals in that one, Rayo is too far to be considered for relegation, and Barca is almost certainly on position 2, so there is  not much to play for, and could be open match
the cup final was one hell of a good match, could've gone either way in the 120 minutes. Unfortunately, for the penalty shootout Valencia's coach, Bordalas, pulled a Southgate and picked a 19yo with no experience in such crucial moments, and obviously, the kid missed the pen, but i'm not blaming him for the loss, just saying that mentally it must've been really tough for the young lad.
Anyway, 40yo Joaquin lifting the trophy, what a football legend!

In general, Betis is more solid and stable team during season, but it's final, just one game and I think that chances for both teams is 50/50. And you're right, recent Betis performance isn't that good as it was during whole season. I also will support Valencia, it would be interesting to see them in Europe next season. Copa del Rey title gives place in Europa league, not Conference league, right? Meanwhile Betis have good chances to reach it through league.
