After what just happened with Potter? Lol They will never give anyone a contract worth more than three years. Three years is plenty of time for any coach to work a miracle and earn another contract extension. I'm relieved Todd learned his lesson the hard way.
Then Chelsea aren't for any positive change, you give a coach a two years contract but you handling players 8 and years contract ? make it make sense, if the club has deicide to make an overhaul of players and also need a new coach a to implement and or build a dynasty, you really don't can't expect it to happen over night right, I mean a coach having a vast majority of players from different clubs and systems they were previously used to, then a new coach with a contrast football philosophy, it take takes just more than one year to reach the peak for such team.
We have some of the exciting talents every coach would be happy to manage to get results with within two years. We are not asking any coach to take the team to the highest peak; instead, the owner and the fan just want the club to return to the top four at the very least and possibly challenge for trophies. We have been in this situation before; we finished 15th in the 2014|2015 season, got a new coach, and we won the league the next season.
Take Manutd, Newcastle and Burnley for example , these guys did wonders with the squad they inherited under few months. To sum it up every coach work at their own pace.
we could say Frank Lampard deserve the credit fro UCL that Thomas Tuchel won for Chelsea because, Lampard literally assembled that squad, it just wasn't clicking the right yet, but Tuchel came and used the exact set of players to win the UCL, if he was that good, he should have been able to keep replicating the same result when was allowed the sign players, but instead the 13 players that Tuchel had signed as Chelsea coach right now seem like an absolute waste of funds, except for a couple of them that are barely living up to expectations.
Hello Tuchel was only 4 points from 2nd place Manchester city when he got sacked, today we are 30+ behind Manchester city
+ Lampard wouldn't have accomplished much with those guys; he was fired because he was totally incompetent.
