After what just happened with Potter? Lol They will never give anyone a contract worth more than three years. Three years is plenty of time for any coach to work a miracle and earn another contract extension. I'm relieved Todd learned his lesson the hard way.

Then Chelsea aren't for any positive change, you give a coach a two years contract but you handling players 8 and years contract ? make it make sense, if the club has deicide to make an overhaul of players and also need a new coach a to implement and or build a dynasty, you really don't can't expect it to happen over night right, I mean a coach having a vast majority of players from different clubs and systems they were previously used to, then a new coach with a contrast football philosophy, it take takes just more than one year to reach the peak for such team.

We have some of the exciting talents every coach would be happy to manage to get results with within two years. We are not asking any coach to take the team to the highest peak; instead, the owner and the fan just want the club to return to the top four at the very least and possibly challenge for trophies. We have been in this situation before; we finished 15th in the 2014|2015 season, got a new coach, and we won the league the next season.

Take Manutd, Newcastle and Burnley for example , these guys did wonders with the squad they inherited under few months. To sum it up every coach work at their own pace.

we could say Frank Lampard deserve the credit fro UCL that Thomas Tuchel won for Chelsea because, Lampard literally assembled that squad, it just wasn't clicking the right yet, but Tuchel came and used the exact set of players to win the UCL, if he was that good, he should have been able to keep replicating the same result when was allowed the sign players, but instead the 13 players that Tuchel had signed as Chelsea coach right now seem like an absolute waste of funds, except for a couple  of them that are barely living up to expectations.

Hello Tuchel was only 4 points from 2nd place Manchester city when he got sacked, today we are 30+ behind Manchester city  Grin + Lampard wouldn't have accomplished much with those guys; he was fired because he was totally incompetent.

can't believe that I won three yellow caps this season, looking at my total position, which is between places 15-20 during this season
but it speaks about inconsistency that is surrounding my picks this season, and consistency is most important looking to be up for the whole season

last season I won whole pool, with just one yellow cap, now goal is to barely make to paying spots, and already have three yellow caps

If you regularly bet on outsiders (or simply on non-obvious outcomes), then a yellow cap is more likely than if you choose favorites - because everyone chooses favorites and the competition is very high. If you chose an outsider and it won, then you automatically find yourself above 90% of the participants. I think this logic can explain your results.

Until now only Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique have made contacts and are ready to take the job

At the end of the day Chelsea had to settle for one of its club legend in Frank Lampard as their interim manager until at least the end of the season, I believe that as per hearsay that, Chelsea were only willing to offer Enrique short term contract (2 years), but he would rather get something longer than or not less than 4 years.

I've made my picks for them week already, but given the recent shenanigans from a lot of favorites, I'll surely review my picks and pick a couple of upset or perhaps go for a couple of more draw outcomes.
I hope the reviewed picks work well with you. I am not a fan of it. Whenever I tried to improved I had bad results. A single goal in the last second can change everything for a good pick you thought was going to give you 3 full points. I experienced it many time LOL

Just submitted my predictions for the weekend, the biggest game is maybe LFC vs Arsenal. Arsenal are big favourites but Anfield can consume teams.
I don't hope high. There are nothing big anymore. We are not the team in this season anymore. 😥

I would say Lampard isn't bad idea imo, and if there is any one that knows the club better of the 2 shortlisted manager it would be Lampard and I'm sure he would be able to restore normalcy to the dressing room, that's the best temporary fix, I'd say.

The result might not drastically improved and Lampard still looks short of experience, but I'd be banking on him to do a better job compared to Graham Potter and who knows ? that could get him the long term contract that he deserved during his first tenure at the club.

You made an excellent point; I'm more comfortable with Lampard leading the team right now than with anyone else; he knows what needs to be fixed, and he's a fan like us, but I don't want him in charge for the long term. Lampard employs shrewd tactics to win games, which I do not want at Chelsea; instead, I prefer Luis for his direct attacking style of play. But do no forget that Conte is work-free and anything could happen.

Thanks for posting this chart CLS, I didn’t know I’d done so well in a previous round. I knew I’d won yellow caps but forgot I hit 21 points once. It’s been a rarity for me this season, most match weeks I’ve been severely lacking behind Cheesy

I would have never forgotten if I got 21 points in a round with 10 matches only. You won the yellow cap even in the Liverpool fans pool on Superbru that there were nearly 15 thousand people.  Shocked Shocked Even though I'm in a much better place this season compared to the previous seasons I still haven't been able to win a yellow cap. I hope I can manage to do this in one of the remaining 9 rounds.

Congratulations, DireWolfM14. You won the longest round of this year. I think there are still enough matches in number for you to be able to climb to much higher positions.

Even though I also got high points compared to the previous rounds I still fell behind in the standings. The most important reason for this is that the number of matches in this round. I have produced statistics about how many matches there have been in the rounds so far:

Earlier Hhampuz got the yellow cap by getting 24.5 points in the 20th round in which there were 12 matches. After that round DireWolfM14 managed to reach 24.5 points for the first time.

If Arsenal can win on Sunday the title is in sight for them. They would have to avoid defeat at The Etihad and then they will have one hand on the trophy.

One "new" about Chelsea, here in Argentina are talking about Chelsea has made a formar offering to Gallardo, former River Plate coach, and the coach who make Enzo Fernandez so great. He made him debut also.

I think its gonna be a really BIG step for him, but its really good to catch a team in this conditions for him, because he is one of this coach who doesnt married with any player, if he has to sub you or clean you for your performance he is gonna do.

About how are their teams, for all of those who doesnt know him, they are very offensive teams with high pressure. So you have to run.

That is exactly what is missing at Chelsea right now, attack and aggressiveness, also they need to keep running so this coach may be the perfect fit for them.I have always loved River Plate as a team and I used to wake up at 1.50 AM to see the derby against Boca Juniors many years before,I believe 2003-2004 so I think this coach can be a good fit.Of course Europe and especially the Premier League has much more intensity than Argentinian Primeira Liga but nevertheless I think a coach with this mentality is just what is really missing at Chelsea so I hope he got the job.

Just finished with my picks for the next round in case I forget. Lately too much is happening in real life. On the other hand I do not want to do something stupid that will ruin the excitement from the last round. Missing to pick a round will ruin everything for me.

Yes, this is a more successful round than the previous ones - I scored 17.5 points - as much as I scored in the previous two rounds in total (one round was 4.5 points).
On the last round, we had too many matches than usual rounds so high score was expected.

You all had a big week then as far as I can tell, I ended with just 13 points but I was still able to maintain my spot in 26th position, but since there are 20 paying positions, It's still worth every try from my end, to do better.

I've made my picks for them week already, but given the recent shenanigans from a lot of favorites, I'll surely review my picks and pick a couple of upset or perhaps go for a couple of more draw outcomes.

I didn't know about this option until a few hours ago after LAMPARD's press conference; I don't know much about him, but the competition in Europe is much tougher than Argentina; you seem to know a lot about him; do you think he'd be able to handle the pressure at Chelsea right now? I know only two coaches who can handle this pressure and produce good results right now, but these two guys (Mou & Conte) have been here before. We don't need another 'BIG step' manager; we need a proven top-level manager.

Is it just me or has round 29 been very high scoring? Lots of people got higher than average points totals. I’m down in lowly 20th with 14 points.

Marsching On Together is a definite Leeds fan.

I think that the 30th round will also be "fruitful" - a lot of games with obvious favorites, just a few games are random.
The main thing I fear is that Liverpool will ruin things for Arsenal, although Liverpool have already lost everything they could. They can repeat the "feat" of Chelsea that ruined the last chance for Liverpool on April 4th.

Congrats direwolf, epic round by yourself, one of the best I can remember seeing in a few years of being in the pool.

Congratulations Direwolf in this amazing round.

Congratulations brother 😘

Congratulations, direwolf, on a fantastic run of games.

I think this was the best yellow cap of the last two seasons if I am not mistaken but I am not that sure, nevertheless big congrats to the winner as I am sure he must have climbed a good number of positions with such a performance and it is also a good feeling for the upcoming rounds for direwolf.

Anyway, congrats @direwolf! Strong performance. GG and congrats to your yellow cap!  Smiley

Thank you all for the congrats, this my first yellow cap ever!  What a run, honestly I was a bit intimidated by the 16 matches from this past week.  Definitely a pleasant surprise to have come up on top.  I climbed 7 spots on the table, which puts at #32.  My goal is to be in the top 25 by the end of the season, but we only have 9 weeks left, I think.

Congrats to the others who made a good run this past week, quite an exciting week it was.

Bullrunbro coming in 2nd with 0.5 points differences and the Leeds fans with catchy username on 3rd with 1.5 points differences

Uff, so close bro! Damn!

I am doing so bad this PL season and I thought this match day would be my time to shine, haha. However, after been up with 2-3 points already, I somehow managed to lose the yellow cap anyway. Arghhh.

Source: Superbru, PL Pool

However, I made a pretty big jump in the overall pool standings. I'm currently in my highest ranking this season at #15 with 262.5 points. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that won't last, my picks are far too inconsistent this season.

Anyway, congrats @direwolf! Strong performance. GG and congrats to your yellow cap!  Smiley

I am not doing that bad either but I could have done better overall, yet I am happy to still be in a winning position so far when only 10 weeks or less remain for the Premier League, maybe it will be the first time I will end in a prize spot while in previous seasons I have always been near them, just a couple of points away.
