Okay, thanks for the explanations. I don't really see much point in peeking at other people's predictions, but I agree that when I bet I often need "approving" opinions or similar predictions in order to be more courageous in betting. Often, some odds seem too good and it's hard to believe that there's no catch in them.

one thing to add to all this advices
do not make your picks late, especially on Saturday afternoon, when there is a lot of matches, Superbru can be under pressure at those moments, and unresponsive, so could not be able to put in your picks

strategy that I am using the most is to put my picks on Thursday, and rarely change it afterwards, if something crucial is happening (injury or corona outbreak), although those changes afterwards usually just leave me without points which initial pick would bring Sad

This is my first time in the pool, so I want to clarify some things: what is the forecast deadline? Crystal Palace vs Arsenal are playing tomorrow at 21:00, what is the latest time I can make a prediction? And what does "Lock" mean in the forecast interface? Until I press the lock can I change my prediction?

You cannot see other people's predictions until you press the lock button, and once your tip is locked, you cannot edit it! The deadline for predictions is before kickoff. You have from now till 20:58 to put in your prediction.  Grin
And if you don't lock your picks you can change them until each particular game starts. You will still be able to change other results after Arsenal game starts, just be sure to not lock the picks. It is not necessary and is done automatically when games start. As igehhh said locking only gives you insight into what other players picked. I am sometimes using that to make a betting decisions as double check that my expected result is actually the one most people expect.

A piece of advice when you're looking to pick opinion from the pool to place a bet, just know that the pool can often be evenly divided especially in games with no distinct favorites and following users having tendency to have the following prediction pattern or you could say bias and you might not want to include them in your sample sizes; buwaytress (Sojourner) hates Man City to the guts so you are likely to see him go for upsets against them more often, Hhampuz often is very unpredictable, this is probably the guy I'm very less familiar with his way of making picks, times I tend to think he just does them randomly, and Hilarious is the draw guy in my opinion, when I can't make clear cut decisions about games, I'd say to myself Hilarious has probably gone for a draw here, I doubt there is game week where he wouldn't have picked a draw or two at least., and LFC Bitcoin tends to go for a wider winning margins when it comes to clear favorites vs underdogs games, If the whole season should end with score like 5-1, 4-1, 4-0, Trofo and myself would probably be at the bottom of the table, but LFC_Bitcoin would be at one of the top spots, I'm certain!, I often share the same picks pattern with Trofo and Halab, more than anyone other set of individuals in the pool.

I've not locked any of my picks yet, but I can guess that LFC Bitcoin would likely have a 4-0 or 4-1 Liverpool to win over Fulham, Trofo and Halab are more of the 3-0 guys there, Hilarious is very likely to have gone for a draw in Bournemouth vs Aston Villa, and If anyone would go for West Ham to win over Man City, Hhampuz and Buwaytress are your guys...

put your picks on time, Arsenal is opening the season tomorrow, and they seem as netting high number of goals in friendlies
West Ham will have another chance on City, they messed-up last season end, with a home draw, maybe they could pull something tomorrow as well

looking forward to see Newcastle and Nottingham in action

we play against Chelsea, almost a friendly for our coach
Already got my picks in for the first few weeks. I might be amending a few things, as I haven't checked any injuries that the teams may have picked up in pre season. Thinking West Ham have a decent chance against City, as City didn't look very good the other day, seemed to be rather rusty, and off the pace. Would be nice to see the Hammers pick up some points early in the season, as every point counts in the title race as last season proved.

Really looking forward to kicking off the season, almost lost without it. Luckily the UFC has been keeping me busy, but I like having sport weekends, especially when Liverpool are playing on the Saturday, and then it goes straight into UFC in the evening.

VAR should be implemented like TMO is in rugby. We as fans watching on the TV get to listen to the ref, and the VAR officials discuss what they're looking at, and why. That puts emphasis on them being a little more fair, as there's been some truly mind boggling decisions since it has been implemented. That's not to say rugby gets it right every time, but it's better to hear their rationale about the decision at least.

Any additional players now will add another place each at 0.0025 up to 20 max and/or maybe I will do a consolation prize for the highest overall yellow cap.

Is it just me or also you guys think that this year prizes so far are some of the best, when even the 15th place will get a nice 100 USD with the actual price of Bitcoin (who knows what could it be worth at the end of the tournament),these prizes should clearly spark even more engaging and more users signing up for the pool. The more the merrier and when prizes are up to 15 places you know we all have good chances to get a piece of the cake,so I think that this is the best pool so far with the best prizes from the moment I have been playing here.

In my opinion, a centimeter offside is absurd, since a player cannot control values of such a size - it turns out to be something like gambling: we will play and then VAR will show by the rule whether it was or not. As for the sole decision, this is normal - a sole decision also means sole responsibility.

It is, and most of us agree with it. The problem is that you have to draw a line somewhere. If you say 'up to 5 cm there is no offside', you just moved the line to where 5.01 cm is offside and 4.99 cm is not and you have to measure it again.
Logically - the line is then set at 0 cm - and you get some absurd decisions.

It will get better with time - and some countries are already drawing fatter lines to avoid long checks and bizarre micrometer offsides.

Like I said before, allowing teams only three requests would put a stop to a lot of this. They'd think twice about requesting a very tight offside be challenged, then again I'm sure teams would use them for any goal hoping they can get it chalked off. They should probably consider changing the offside rule so you only need a part of your body to be onside. That would be much better. The amount of times that someone's legs have been onside but their shoulder or head has been offside is ridiculous.

I can't point one out on top of my head right now...  But ok let's wait for the season to start and I'm pretty sure there will be a few that'll pop up.  And it usually happens like the ref still makes the wrong call even after VAR.  It's almost like they've already set their minds on the call even if the evidence in front of him says otherwise or at least argues against the call.  League matches not so much happens.  It's in the UCL I've noticed some shenanigans.

Another annoying use of VAR is when a player is offside but isn't interfering with play, but they claim he could have put the keeper off or was in his line of sight or something. Well yeah, keepers generally aren't blind.

Life, Love and Laughter...
What you listed changes the score in the game (in most cases) and therefore completely changes the whole game. I would not want this to be left to the subjective opinion of the referee. It will be unpleasant for me to watch the game knowing that, for example, the erroneous decision of the referee completely changed its result.
We were doing fine without VAR.  And here's the thing, there were instances when the red called for VAR and watched the replay, they still got the call wrong.  I mean isn't that what's riling everybody up?  What's the use of VAR even if the interpretation of the data is still subjective to the guy making the calls?

Anyway, I'm gonna log in my account now and go have a look around Superbru.  Grin  Has anybody made their predictions yet?

To be honest, I do not understand what cases you are talking about. Are these cases where non-obvious offside rules are applied, as in the game France - Spain in the League of Nations when Mbappe scored from a "logical" offside position?

I think a lot of people forgot some basical aspects of the law in general.

The Laws we made for "correct" some situations and they follow a "Spirit of the law", why its this important here?.

Its important because the spirit of the law in the offside, its to make the teams play with the ball and touching pass, and not left one striker alone and send to him long pass of 80 meters. I dont know if my explanation its very good because im not a native speaker, but i think its clearly to understand.

So, for me you can be ahead 5/10 cm ahead of the last defender, because you are not "taking advantage of the position", as human you cant measure this 5/10 cm in miliseconds, so you are not doing this with bad behaivor. You only was placed in that place at that time.

I agree with cryptofa also, with wide gap you dont resolve the main problem, but you are more fair. And the micro offside as i said above make no sense to me. ITS GOAL.
