Ah Arsenal,I had it 2-2 and West Ham played well and tried hard to equalize but they could not.I would have got 6 points from today games but I am still happy with just 3 points with only the exact score of Tottenham vs Leicester.I doubt many persons in the pool found that Everton would beat Chelsea tonight,it was the biggest surprise game of the week.Tomorrow Manchester United vs Brentford,I think United will have an easy win and most probably even a clean sheet.

For me now in this pool first place is really far away and i think after this awful round and a pretty unlucky one for me i dont stand a chance of getting that first place if something insane dosent happen. Even that 5th place is too far away now aswell. I can just hope to stay at top 10 until the pool ends honestly Sad
i think you're still in the race for the top spots, you just need a yellow cap (or at least a lot of correct scores) and hope that the others miss a few correct scores, the latter is difficult but not impossible

btw, I believe this is the closest premier league pool we've had so far (?) three and a half rounds left and the 1st place race is still wide open, nail-biting end of the season!

anyway, i'm gonna go celebrate Real madrid's league title! Grin cheers and good luck guys 💪
You got the yellow cap for this weeks pool play just by the looks of the top few on the leaderboard and the scoreline(s) they picked.
Those correct scores do really make the different as from I understand those give you the slam points which determines the winners if it is so close like it is for this week.

This year does seem too close to call who will win it. Because those being in the top 10 will have a shot at first place in the pool with Manchester city having four matches left in their season so Liverpool is the only one who has a shot at first place in the league.

@Welsh yeah as soon as the early goal went in and then I saw coach talk to his players, I knew damage control, not fightback, was on the cards. Worked til the restart... shame but I'd be a fool to expect anything else (guess I called myself a fool for betting on Leeds).

No, I'm watching it in the city game, but it seems a complete surprise to me that Wolverhampton lose by 3 goals at home against Brighton.
I did not see the liverpool game but although it ended 1 - 0 I see that Liverpool dominated the entire game and the figure of Newcastle was their goalkeeper.

The city-leeds can be a 5-3 like a 5-0

Yeah, I did pick Brighton since Wolves suck at home, just didn't expect them to score so many without reply. Wolves stopped winning 1-0 some time ago, but they now also seem to no longer concede fewer than 2 goals...

Went for City 4-1 and of course, Leeds couldn't even score the 1 goal I thought they would. Now City's wiped out the GD advantage we had in one day (but it's okay, I thought we'd have to pip them by points eventually anyway).

@Joca: Take it from me, I think I topped the pool for more than half the season, and then very quickly went at one stage 15 points away from the top, and then in 2 weeks it's back at a more breathable level. 4 more game weeks ++ there's plenty of time for collapses and breakthroughs.  No point giving up.

Fairly close in the score. It ended 4-0 without any hesitation from city in this match. They just kept putting them in the back of the net without any opposition from the Leeds keeper.
Had 5-1 and gave Leeds the benefit of the doubt to put atleast one in and it came close near the end of the match. But Ederson was just too good today.

Looks like Norwich has accepted they will get relegated from the way the bottom of the table is now with Watford needing to win their next 4 games to stay in the premier league for next season. But the announcers of the match were saying Norwich will be playing the champions league and will be keeping their current manager on the trip back to that league next season.
So it sounds like a done deal.

Liverpool and Manchester City doing their jobs today. This is coming to an end as I think after this week ends only three other remains plus some additional fixtures that were postponed before. It will be interesting to see who will come on top as Champions of the Premier League this year, being one of the leagues which is open up this late as who will be the Champions.

On the pool I am happy to have found 2 correct scores for Burnley and Manchester City,it has been ages since I haven't done so in the pool so happy about that.

Liverpool and City winning as usual, but Newcastle will be a CL contender next season, if second part of this season is any sign
Burnley is on the run, expected win over Watford, and with 13 points from last six matches, they are now almost secured in Premier next season

as I said already, Leeds is our only chance, but those are slim as well, Championship is closer than ever, we have to win over Chelsea tomorrow

On to City now. Any chance of upset?
I wasn't expecting much, but I did want to watch a exciting game. I expected City to win, but scoring so early as kind have put a dampener on it for neutrals, and well us Liverpool fans. I don't see Leeds fighting their way back now, seems City are up for it. Leeds not so much.

This could go right down to the wire this, I think Newcastle will likely fold in half for City though, unlike against us today. Although, we should have scored more, we had the opportunities, it felt like Jota, and Mane had 3/4 between them, pretty clear cut chances.

^ I did see the goal from Ronaldo and it is certainly of high quality but didn't strike me as anything fantastic. Such are the high standards we have become accustomed to haha.

Speaking of being spoiled by high standards, feels weird to be disappointed by the Newcastle win, even though a tough fight was to bw expected, and a slim win to be savoured. Cannot remember so many offsides from a team (9) when home. Only wish we didn't have to rack up the cards like that.

On to City now. Any chance of upset?

How can be? , nobody its talking about what a magnificent goal was scored yesterday by Cristiano Ronaldo. Again saving the United from another lost. Also they were lucky because Chelsea was so bad finishing all the opportunities they have.
I've come to terms with Ronaldo saving Manchester United. Although, ultimately its not going to amount to much. We knew Ronaldo was one of the best players to ever play the game, and he continues to prove that despite playing a the worst Manchester United team of my memory. He's incredible, however I don't know how long he'll be playing for United. I imagine this season has taken a toll on him for personal reasons, but also for the situation United as a club find themselves in. Although, if United were to lose Ronaldo that's 20+ goals gone from their rather small amount of goals, and they likely don't pick up half the points they have done with him in the team.

Seriously, I think having Ronaldo in there right now is the one thing that's preventing the camel from breaking its back. Once they lose him, dare I say it, are they regelation contenders in their current form?

I was almost certain that Klopp wasn't going to resign,  I thought he was quite adamant about it, however if you hear him whenever he talks about the city, the players, and the club he has just clicked with us, which I do believe is exactly why it went from not resigning, and returning home to lets sign for another two years, and make the most of things. However, to be honest not that he has signed on for two additional years (four years in total) I'm a little more hopeful of tying him down a little longer, which I wasn't before I basically just accepted that we'll have a massive hangover period after Klopp leaves.

Seriously, if we sign Salah now on a long term deal, I might even accept not winning the quadruple...might Wink.

Can't believe I didn't know about the Klopp news until now, from reading this forum haha. I'm so happy, I thought he was close to retiring already after he lost mom, but someone mentioned here I think his wife did some convincing. Well done Mrs Klopp if you really had a hand here.

I wouldn't have agreed with Trofo last season about Liverpool not needing anyone... no one needs reminding how bare our back four cupboard was all season, that we actually ended 3rd was a literal miracle. But we've been buying well, haven't we? Plugged the gaps, gave up cover, and can even afford to offload a few players now (and hopefully replace with even better signings).

Injuries can quickly change things though, but we definitely have an entire new season to sort things out with contracts and buys.

Back to the game: not sure where it's headed really. United seem to actually be playing somehow despite Chelsea getting 2 early so-so attempts., except that the extent of their adventure is failed take on by Rashford and failed bicycle kick from Ronaldo.

I'm really curious to see how this team will keep growing. I don't even know who can we bring in the summer that can improve us.
Now that Alcantara started playing good again I don't think Liverpool needs anybody. They could use maybe one defensive RB for rotation or world class box-to-box midfielder, not many of those some to my mind unfortunately. Maybe 10 years younger Modrić or Gerard from his prime. Better to just keep current team together and buy some young players for the future and rotation when necessary. Tsimikas seems like perfect profile, young enough to sit on bench and develop, good enough to play when Robertson needs rest.

Liverpool fans can't stop winning:

"Jurgen Klopp has today signed a contract extension to keep him at Liverpool until 2026"
https://twitter.com/TheAthleticUK/status/1519671543491702786

forget Salah or any other transfer/contract extension drama going on in the club right now, this is the one that Liverpool needed to secure asap!

Yup, huge news and I'm so thrilled that it has happened. It will make all other things easier as well - both contract negotiations with existing players and incoming transfers in the summer.
All players look at things like these when deciding where their future lies and Liverpool with Klopp at the helm until 2026 is a whole other thing than until 2024.

I'm really curious to see how this team will keep growing. I don't even know who can we bring in the summer that can improve us.

Deserved! This is the best contract they gaved. Jurgen Klopp won them their first Premier League title after so long, then won the Champions League aswell and now Liverpool is probobly in top5 clubs in the world. They have also a big chance to win all the trophies this year. Salah is an amazing player and if he dosent want to extend they can easily find someone who can replace him.

In the game of today sure Chelsea is the favorite but I would not bet on them as they are playing away where Chelsea has not been consistent at all during this season. They maybe better in quality than Manchester United by I would never underestimate Manchester United when playing at home and when having in their team a player like Cristiano which can always make a difference in any game if he happens to be in top form.
