Why is there no games this weekend? Doesn't seem to be any internationals or the FA Cup.

I just knew Man City wasn't invincible, they've shown a number of times this season they're quite fragile, but they've just managed to pull it out of the bag. Well, they didn't this time, and they likely won't for the rest of the season. Obviously, Liverpool, and Chelsea at the minute aren't all that great at securing wins consistently, but when you look at the remaining fixtures, the time between big matches, I'm still quietly confident about Liverpool's chances this season.

It will make things interesting if City lose another game or two or drop some points on draws. They have a 9 point buffer at the top currently but they've also played an extra game.

Watford is going down I think, when you fire a league winner and replace him with a dude I thought retired??  Grin

I honestly don't get why clubs sack mangers thinking it's going to do anything. It's the players on the pitch that aren't performing. It's rarely down to tactical ineptitude so I'm not sure what they think it's going to fix. Ranieri never should have been sacked from Leicester. That was shameful in my opinion. Performs a miracle and then the next season they panic and get rid at the first sight of trouble.

I know it's way too early to talk about positions now but since we next play in February, we can at least say the season is 60% done for most people and it could be interesting to review how it looks.

I am surprising myself with performance here as compared to my lowly position in a league I'm more used to (Spanish).

Here, in past 2 months the gap from me to the top increased to over 10 points again. I think during the course of the 2 weeks, I manually thought it had gone to below 10 points, but it was hard to really calculate because Superbru was bugging.

BTW I am 7th place here and in my listed country of 847 players, I am 8th. I pat myself on the back lol.

After Christmas it has not been good for the pool vs global;) Our pool's leader also dropped out of Global Top 250, and this has resulted in many in Pool Top 5 to catch up. Currently, 2-4th place are all tied on points, only 6.5 points behind 1st.

My highest achievement Globally is 867 which I achieved in Round 17.

Thank you for this link, surprisingly enough I was in the top 240 in Round 6,back at those days I was the leader of the leaderboard in our pool but soon after few rounds I fell down with 2000 plus places for some consecutive weeks and was not able to recover anymore.I am now at 17 place and not so far away from the top 10 which is my next objective,I guess since 60% of the tournament is done, there is not a lot of space for recovery unless we do pretty well every upcoming round.

Anyway, Norwich really surprised me, but Watford didn't. I thought it was going to be a bore draw, but Watford have looked pretty poor this season, and I did think they were suspectible to conceding against Norwich, like I said I somewhat expected Pukki could make the breakthrough happen, however to play, and concede as many as they did, against a out of form Norwich side pretty much puts the writing on the wall for me. Watford to get relegated.

I am definitely rooting for you, cryptofrka, LFC_Bitcoin and buwaytress,,, actually I am surprised I know you are all Liverpool fans but I am sure there are more just from the posts I can notice you guys are Red as Red can be Wink I totally think that City should not have been so lucky to get so many wins. They do not play badly,,, they just play too cautiously for me to enjoy their wins. Unlike when even Arsenal win it is so exciting. I should not mention my own team,,, exciting because we always look like we are going to lose.

Spurs is also doing well quietly I would say,,, of course nowhere near Chelsea or Liverpool and I really hate how we lost to Chelsea but Conte will turn us around after this season. He already made us much better I can see.

Wow,,, top 1000 is a big achievement with almost 70000 players I would say. My highest achievement is in Round 5, #22,410  Roll Eyes

Watford also ruined my acca Trofo. I don't even want to say how much for, as it included 2 smallish upsets elsewhere. Didn't expect I'd have to count another upset in my acca. Norwich 3/1 to win this should have warned me it wasn't going to be as easy as it felt. Denis getting red-carded too, heh.

You know the full moon had something to do with it when Pukki turns from scorer to provider.

I took Norwich to win but we were unlucky to walk away with just a point  Sad

I took LFC and palace to draw because I think I have some sort of reverse voodoo where if I take an outcome it always goes the opposite way. Was anticipating a disappointing 2-2 draw cause that's what usually happens when City slips, so I'm glad my "voodoo" went the other way this time  Smiley

...most of us did badly. I am noting that there are quite a few others taking more risks like rdbase now, and the weekly board shows this up quite well. I was a bit adventurous with picks and paid dearly (predicting 3 goals for United, City, Villa, Leeds) and then all of them scoring one or none. I have not been moved to change my stance today though.
I am very happy with the Sunday afternoon fixtures and my exact scores on Liverpool and Leicster plus 0 points on Arsenal but nobody got a point a there. This brings me to 11th position and hopefully in striking distance for big rewards after a few more good rounds.

Too bad I needed that Arsenal on one multi to cash out but still have a couple of live tickets. Did not watch the game but according to the stats Arsenal destroyed Burnley and the it just wasn't their day.

I also got Leicester correct score but I had Liverpool 1-2 and that 1-3 removed my correct score also there. Also missed Chelsea by one goal,I had a correct score of 1-0 for Chelsea but ended 2-0,still a very good Sunday for me too with 6 points but I see most of the people in the pool have done well in this round,a lot of them with 11 points,we have one missing game for the week but that is far away from now on 5 February so there is time until then.

Wolves have been brilliant in recent week, and I back them in all my bets and in the pool, that seemed like a bet not to be missed for me.

One of my favourites when Nuno didn't get pressured into changing tactics this season, but since he left they seem to have found their way again. It's not that they're not exciting to watch, just the way they seem to have built for themselves a brickwall in final third. But yes, great value bets on them for now, thanks to their seeming inability to score (and yet still do).

Such a bad day for me i just cannot hit anything. Everything in my opinion except Man Utd went the other way. Was hoping with this weekend to push myself into top 5 poistions and i just pushed myself out of top10. Hopefully Man City goes 1-2 so i can at least scratch some of the points.

Yes the results were somewhat mixed with the biggest surprise for me being Leeds not winning at home against Newcastle. They are going from bad to worse in every passing game.I am really amazed that the top guy so far has done 10.5 or 10 points with just the games played while every body else is down to 6-7 points, well done to him so far.I did not that bad from this perspective climbing three places and making a total of 4 points with these results.I hope for some better results in tomorrow games.

I had Leeds to win the match and was expecting that it would be an easy match for them due to them playing at home, but ended up losing in the end. Also had Wolves 1-1 and had the point in hand and then they scored 2 goals now missed even city by just 1 goal. Terrible.

Edit: okay VAR chalked it off but if not, Wolves scoring THREE goals again would have made this day weirder. And did I say Rashford back-to-back was crazy? Try Adama Traore... I guess fate didn't want to push its luck today

Wolves have been brilliant in recent week, and I back them in all my bets and in the pool, that seemed like a bet not to be missed for me.

I think this season is shaping up to be the closest title race in a long time.
Closest title race... I dont think so! This one Manchester city will easily win it because the other teams dont have the fight in them to challenge them.

You sure went back some pages to retrieve this haha. But you know, I'm a stubborn little gambler and still asking and prodding around for a treble offer for me on Liverpool.

We're the only team to ever sit atop the league on Christmas and not go on to win. I would love City to join us in creating such hallowed, such exclusive company.

Pity we only meet them in April, but well, maybe it's best.

Haha, the post is almost 4 months old and no one would have expected City to be in the clear by this margin at this point back then, given how both Liverpool and Chelsea were in good shape.

Southampton have just stunned Man City in the early minutes of the game, it's going be an interesting. Not one of those frustrating evenings I hope

Norwich sucker punch, followed by a Toons sucker punch from Jonjo Shelvey, and then Rashford gets back to back goals after a drought to snatch a final-min win, Wolves scoring more than 1 goal... crazy day and I have to say, my bets are in absolute tatters. Got nothing to live for now except specials haha...

Anyone know why the drone incident postponed Brentford game so long? Just got home and could only read about it.

Okay everyone weekend is here. On Friday so now that bottom team showed us a surprise, when does anyone think top team will also show a surprise? We know they will win the league, and they will either beat or draw all the other teams challenging for top 4, but it seems they must always lose a few times each season to some team below top 4.  Southampton surely can't do it, or should I try improve my rankings by predicting this upset? hehe

I think Villa draw today at the worst. Away team and odds not showing that. Then again, Norwich odds did not show.

Ranieri isn't going to make it past this game, is he? I'm confident he'll be sacked, given how the Watford owners have handled coaches in the past. This was a crushing and humiliating defeat at home.

Burnley have a couple of games postponed, Newcastle is signing some decent players and Norwich have looked reasonably sharp on counter-attacks recently. Watford on the other hand, simply horrible, especially that Sissoko and Cleverley midfield combo, i mean come on. At the end of the first half, King and Joao Pedro were yelling at one other, i'm not sure whether a new coach and I. Sarr's return from injury can save them from relegation.

I've also got the Norwich/Watford game at 0-0. Think they could cancel each other out. Both have 6 losses in a row other than their last games where Watford drew and Norwich won. Can't pick a winner so it's gonna have to be a draw for me.

I had similar thought process and decided to go with draw for this but no one really saw that coming huh. Norwich scored 3 goals and they are on their 2nd consecutive win, Its great coming from a team that stands at the bottom of the league like few weeks ago iirc.

I've got a draw for this as well. If I had to pick a winner Wolves should edge it but away at Brentford I think I'll have to take the draw. Brentford's recent form looks pretty bad on paper but they've played all the giants - Man United, Liverpool and Man City within their last 5 games.

Took 1-0 for Brentford close win, trying to score an upset points somehow if Brentford ended up winning because most people are probably going with either draw or Wolves to win in this one

They ruined my otherwise winning x6 multi so lot's of money down the drain.

Dang that hurts

I had Watford to win 2-1, and they went from being the better side in the first half to a complete shitty team in second half. I was pretty much optimistic with the way the first half played out.

Not the greatest way to kickstart the week, but it's much comforting to know that only a few people from the pool actually had Norwich to win.

I know I've long embraced the wooden spoon (I promise I'll do better at committing to picks in the future Cheesy), but here's my predictions for tonight's match between Norwich, and Watford. I actually think it's going to be a non eventful game, ending in a 0 - 0. If anything I see Pukki potentially netting a goal for Norwich. Watford have looked rather lackluster in all departments recently, even when they've gotten a result. Norwich haven't been much better though.

I've also got the Norwich/Watford game at 0-0. Think they could cancel each other out. Both have 6 losses in a row other than their last games where Watford drew and Norwich won. Can't pick a winner so it's gonna have to be a draw for me.
Only good thing I can say about Watford performance tonight is - at least nobody got 3 points in the pool Smiley They ruined my otherwise winning x6 multi so lot's of money down the drain.

I watched parts of the game and it looked quite boring before hornets fell apart. Important 3 points for Norwich, maybe they have some chance of staying up. This win got them out of relegation zone but they have 2 games more than Watford and Newcastle, and incredible 5 games more than Burnley. Have no clue when will Burnley be able to play all those postponed matches (6 in total).
