Oh and Bournemouth-Chelsea, 14 yellow cards (not even counting 1 for Enzo), the 13th already breaking an 80-year old record, I heard the commentator say. And we thought United-Arsenal would forever be the spectacle of bookings. Nkunku of course scores, and what the hell was that celebration? Haha. What's the punishment again when a team gets more than 5 yellows? Or is it just a fine?
That was a great game to watch. By the way Cherries were killing Chelsea and I have no idea how they haven't scored. Probably just because I had both to score on the ticket. They even missed a penalty and hit a couple of woodworks.

Finally had time to properly watch some of the games. Wife isn't happy but I had a marathon today, second half of United, then a mix of Liverpool/City/Palace then whole Villa and whole Chelsea games  Grin That is what a proper Saturday should look like.

Finally, Arne Slot is brought back to the ground, I couldn't bear to watch Liverpool in injury time, I was sure we would even concede a second. Guess we all might as well give City the title. Again.

So yeah, I don't know, it's been 10 years but I was emotionally invested in him as a kid, I haven't really gotten over him hahaha.

Well deserved hate my friend- I have Mount in the same group, invested my emotions into that bastard, the club gave him the best football moments in his career , had one good season and started demanding more than his value. That bastard went for money and hasn't kicked a ball for 70mins ever since.

Then you know the hurt. I saw you mentioned above Mount was offered 200k a week -- wow! And he thought that wasn't enough? I don't remember the numbers we offered Sterling back then but he was a teenager, and we were prepared to make him a record offer. Liverpool never paid big wages but we were ready to break the bank for him. A kid! To earn more than Carra who was just retiring, imagine, and he thought it was not enough. We put him on the stage. Rafa saw something in him, Rogers trusted him with senior games... and yeah, he got big-headed. I remember he even went on some interview that the club knew nothing about and shat on Liverpool.

Anyway, yes, still wish him the best, but I am sure he always looks back. I hope he always does.

Brilliant game plan from 'Forest - 2 wins and 2 draws to start the season is a perfect way to start a season and give yourself a good shout to stay out of the relegation zone. They were helped today by Liverpool not forcing the game enough, but they were very impressive and that goes to show the level of competitiveness in the league.

Brentford almost stealing a point too, but Halaand was just too good again.

The Fulham draw helped me climb some places on the table, so not a bad start to matchweek 4

- Jay -

While Fulham draw also helped get some green arrow trend to move up 5 positions, I’m still pretty much deep into the middle of the pile, hopefully of the trend can extend further, then perhaps I could break into the 15-20 position.

-

Everton is doing some pissing contest, because how they’ve managed to throw away a 2 goal lead for 2nd consecutive match day is quite beyond me, those are 6 important points that could end up being what would determine their season at the end of the league.

I guess next City and Liverpool will lose and Everton will be top of the league again lol
You're right Liverpool are back on the brink after Nottingham Forest beat them at Anfield. And Manchester City are still being carried by Haaland. Grin

Brighton seems to have started to falter again? Against Ipswich still struggling even though they control everything and even more annoying is Liverpool in the Superbru Pot all guessed wrong.

I thought I was scoring an exact point until at the last minutes Alejandro scored the 3rd for Utd. 1.5 points lost in a minute difference LOL

Wow Manchester United 3-0, when was the last time you could say something like this as a sure thing?
I can not remember.

Spoilt Micky Mount rejected a £200k/week (excluding bonuses) deal to accept the same amount at Manutd. We didn't take anything away from him; he was never a proper Chelsea, and did you see how his dad and entire family reacted when he signed the Manutd deal?

Shit, reading up I didn't know about Sterling and Mount rejecting good deals to move. I totally forgot about that or didn't know about it. Its not just England for sure, everywhere are moneygrabbers.

Moving from Chelsea to the current Manchester United team is never an upgrade; we are far a better team. From youths to the women's and men's teams, including training equipment.  Grin

With how many billions spent yet we only have one win against Manchester united in last how many seasons?

Hope you know we have a better Net spend and a way better wage structure than Manutd?

He wasn't asking for much if we're being honest here. He would had been a better player if he was still playing for his boy hood club but we took that away from him and now he's in a foreign environment that doesn't match his spirit.

He was asking for far more than he was worth; if we give every spoilt Cobham bastard everything they want simply because they grew up in Cobham, we would no longer be running a football club, but rather a Cobham family ties.

He won a trophy last season, what did Chelsea get? Conference league qualifications ha.

Not bringing the youth and women teams into this conversation, I know Chelsea leads in that but all I'm saying is he was worth that salary increase (as I think about it). He loved it at Chelsea but he wasn't given the respect back.

I don't mind we bringing him back, right now injuries is killing his career and that's just sad for the potentials he had. Chelsea didn't fight to keep him.

Has Chelsea been better without him hell no, what have we achieved since he left?

He'll be playing in the Europa league this season but we're stuck in the conference league that we might likely not win so he actually got an upgrade if we're being realistic.

Chelsea is better off without Mount, and everyone we have in his place is an upgrade on Mount, and Chelsea finished ahead of Manuted last season; he is only playing Europa because they won the FA Cup and qualified automatically.

Mount is a bang mediocre player who is already being exposed. A £140k/week player.

What's there to pay him what he wanted, we refuse to up his salary but went into the market and spent billions, not once but twice and most likely we'll be spending more in January still we haven't been able to assemble a team that can get us a silverware.

Yeah trust the process you might say but it's getting annoying daily.

Not even that enthusiastic about Chelsea games anymore, going to watch Bournemouth Vs Chelsea later today just because I got offered a beer by an old friend.

Returning to the drawing board and building the team afresh with no pressure of the past may work out for them.

It is difficult for a top-tier club that is accustomed to winning to give too much time to coaches; it is a difficult job, and no one is going to sit around and wait for you to turn things around in 4-5 years or more. Patient mainly works with smaller teams or those that haven't won a major trophy in a long time.

If Arteta had joined any of the top clubs like Chelsea, Barcelona, or Manchester United, he would have been long gone ( had a very rough start)  I agreed with LFC Bitcoin that both Chelsea and Manchester United are cursed.  Grin

So yeah, I don't know, it's been 10 years but I was emotionally invested in him as a kid, I haven't really gotten over him hahaha.

Sancho is a good player, he’s not the only player with a lot of talent going to United for a big fee and big wages to fail. I think Man Utd are cursed since Ferguson left, long may it continue.

Was a promising player at Dortmund but his move to Manchester killed him. The big fee is playing a part in players failing when they move to a new club. No club will buy you costly and then you expect them to give you time to adapt, you're meant to kick things off immediately you touch the ball. Atleast that's what the club/fans expect from you for costing that high.

Quote
Sancho could do well at Chelsea, he was good at Dortmund on loan. Chelsea need to stop signing players though and coach the players they have. So many good players at Chelsea but the constant manager sacking and new signings flooding in does not help settle a team.

Much shouldn't be expected from him though, I just think he'll be decent, better than what we currently have because this current Chelsea squad is going through a transformation and we shouldn't expect players to just come in and fit right in. Todd  isn't going to hear that, I bet we'll be very active by January too. The club is just something else right now like an open market for players trade.

^ Arteta will probably introduce... Sterling haha. Sigh, saying his name still leaves bile in my throat. Of all the players I thought I'd gotten over, I have no idea why I still feel bitter about this guy.
What do you have against him ? A really cool guy off the pitch but he's football IQ is way below 10, he's not the same he was.

An old injury to my days when I had so much time I could even follow Academy players and our U21s. There wasn't that much to really like in those dark days, but we had a bit of good cheer with Liverpool's SAS hit strike, and at the same time a young kid called Sterling was signed for our Academy, he was exciting, fun, and had such a good attitude. Senior team, I thought, wow, he was going to carry on from Suarez/Sturridge, benefit from Coutinho (another guy I bet regrets leaving) but then he became a nasty little brat about a contract extension. Don't remember the numbers anymore but we offered top dollar, and he said something about us never going to pay his true value or something and I was like, well, ok off you go, then. So glad when he signed for Citeh. Got his big money, but I would say, was never the player he could have been with us.

So yeah, I don't know, it's been 10 years but I was emotionally invested in him as a kid, I haven't really gotten over him hahaha.

There's a possibility, they can also take all 3 points too. Although man city are in great form but Brentford has what it takes to cause an upset. Also just as you have said, Pep might want to play more of his second choices in preparation for the champions league. Pep priority has to be the champions league. Winning the league won't excite him that much again as he can win without even trying.

Yeah, my thoughts. It does please me I took Brentford at over 13/1 while odds as of now have dropped to 11/1 on some books -- I think pricing in Haaland's possible absence (he won't miss the game, of course, he's actually going to play to "celebrate" his bereavement).

I do not think they are cursed, they just have not returned to the drawing board. They were desperate to return to their previous heights in the beginning of the transition and got rid of coaches too quickly and when they do decide to settle on on a coach and back him up with the players he needs it was the wrong choice (for me).
I cannot see a pattern either in the style of coaches they have hired, this suggests they are not chasing any style of play but want results. They have not been helped by the issue with the Glazers either. Seems like Ferguson was holding together a team that should have crumbled long before it did.

Returning to the drawing board and building the team afresh with no pressure of the past may work out for them.

Is that the only reason you don't join UCL? Understandable.
Last year yes. It's from memory. The accusations against Rollbit were many and things were not looking good. I have not followed the updates since then.

As far as I know they resolved everything outstanding. The big one was about some bonus cancellation but they already paid out the guy, both parties were at fault but the guy cancelled his bonus without wagering over and got his deposit plus winnings back so I guess he is at least in profit.

Sancho is decent, I feel that 'good' is overstretching it a bit. Not sure why they are taking him to be honest, his salary is quite high and he won't be a starter there.
Even if he will be, he's not drastically better from 10 players that they already have that can play there.

I'd say this is a good move from United, one of the rare ones recently.

The only thing going for him is that he's a home-grown player, so he goes into the quota.

TBF I think United recent transfers are good, just not really working out. And moving off Sancho and others gradually makes them lose less and less. I read they posted 100m loss, but it's actually a big improvement. Only ManCity Arsenal and Liverpool are making profit now but if you remove transfer profit, as in you only take actual income minus salaries I believe I read only ManCity and Liverpool made green. Take away Champions League and I think only Spurs make money lol.

But I'm afraid no single transfer from the blue side to the Red side has worked out ever. ( He's going to mention Kai Havertz)
Petr Cech was a good deal, David Luiz was the worst of all for me.

Havertz has the third most goals and assists in the Premier league since the start of the year, but I agree that the transfer has not worked out yet, he can still get so much better  Grin

Yeah Petr Cech was good but can't be compared to the ones who crossed over the to blue side in terms of individual brilliance and trophies.

First time in a million years we're having someone from the red side of Manchester cross over to the blue side of London - really think Sancho would come good for us what do you think?
