It is normal that the teams will try to get all the possible advantages. The thing that I do not understand is that there will be no home advantage without fans.
OK, some stadiums have smaller playing fields so it's easier to defend for let's say Brighton at home than away but no teams will be having huge disadvantages and that's the only thing that matters.

It isn't possible to find the perfect solution and a fair one will have to do, and this is a fair option. No relegation is not fair as well - the season will be completed.

^ ^  You can't really blame them.  Relegation means less money next season which prolly could be short by a couple of months (so lesser money).

I just want either a restart or just end the season as is.  Clubs that go down, goes down.  Clubs that go up, goes up (Bielsa's Leeeeds!  Yay!).

If (as expected) the season restarts & concludes in full then there will definitely be 3 teams relegated. All the lowly sides are moaning now but I’d expect nothing less. There’s no advantage or disadvantage to any team, it’s all behind closed doors.

Some of the lowly sides are bitching about not being able to play at home. Let me just have a quick look via google at their supposedly great home form that might help them get the points needed to stay up.

20th placed Norwich - Won 4 PL home games all season
19th placed Aston Villa - Won 6 PL home games all season
18th placed Bournemouth - Won 4 PL home games all season
17th placed Watford - Won 4 PL home games all season
16th placed West Ham - Won 4 PL home games all season
15th placed Brighton - Won 5 PL home games all season

From the above you can see that those teams aren’t any better at hone than they are away so they’re just trying to get the season cancelled so they don’t get relegated. Luckily the FA & PL & the other teams won’t agree with rewarding failure by cancelling the league for the benefit of those pathetic clubs.

Well, there is a disadvantage in the sense that they wont have the home advantage, but all teams will have to deal with this (assuming if if goes ahead on neutral grounds) so it shouldn't matter, but you can bet those teams that get relegated will have a cry about it but everyone is in the same boat. You have to adapt and play where you can.  Maybe they will cancel the relegation spots like they did in Belgium but I don't think they should. It's a little easier to do in Belgium though because they only have one team relegated/promoted. If teams do cry about this it's basically just being sore losers.

I saw a rumour of Pogba to Real today, 70 million pounds. I think Pogba will definitely leave Man Utd this summer so that could be your first big transfer this summer boys. Also I think Timo Werner definitely goes somewhere & Sancho will be going for huge bucks.

He'll leave as soon as someone coughs up enough money for him.

Sorry guys...  I don't think any huge transfers are gonna happen this summer.  I made the bet like a couple weeks ago at the football transfers thread but no one bit.

It's gonna be all loan deals mostly fo sho.  It's also gonna be interesting how the current mid table clubs go vs the top 4 next season.  Wolves could break through with that squad imo.

Edit:  Oh...

@toke ok I'll take you on for that. 50m GBP certainly qualifies for big money transfer in this period I think. And yes, with Newcastle on the verge of sealing black gold deals, you bet there's going to be a few big transfer requests splashing around. It all depends now on whether player and club agrees. The money's willing.

So that's $10 to you if big money transfer happens? When's the cut off date? season restart?

Yup big transfer happens, you win.  None, I win.  10 bucks...  The cut off date is whenever the EPL says the transfer ends.

Quote and confirm and lezz go!  Grin

^  Sure!  Smiley  You could also take me football transfer bet if you want to.  It's hard to define what a big money transfer move is tho.  Is that anything over 50m GBP?

I think yeah, anything above 50 million pounds is a big money deal. Put it this way, if your club spends 50 million on a player and he flops would you be disappointed?

You want to bet that there will be a big transfer during the summer or that it won't? If you think there won't be, shoot some odds and if they're good, I will take it.
We can say 50 mil GBP, yes. It will be hard to name a team that will pay that in the current market state but there will be some players for sale (like Coutinho for example) so I'm thinking there will be at least one big transfer.
Could also be Werner to Liverpool but that one will probably be under 50 mil. GBP.

@DeathAngel Nah don't know much about Aguero personally but I don't think he's the kind of player who would begrudge Liverpool the title when others in his own squad believe it's won by the Reds already

@toke we'll save our $10 for next season then;)

@LFC_Bitcoin: Yup, thinking we'll be doing the open top bus celebration I think even in 2021.

@hilarious: Quote from this article after the meet: "If the National League can find a workable solution -- average points-per-game is a favoured option -- it may trigger a similar move in League One and League Two."

I don't think Prem will ever go for that but if they did, that would give Liverpool 107 points this season =p

@tokes: $10 it is, on the league to restart vs you thinking it'll get cancelled? You know, since BTC's going to be at a new ATH at the time the bet settles, I'll take you on;)

Oh that bet...  I thought you were talking about the football transfers one.  DeathAngel and already confirmed and I got two to one for it.  Grin  I can't take your bet as it would be unfair to DeathAngel.

But if he's ok with it, let's go.  I say that league gets cancelled and LFC declared champion, points and places as they are.

You two can have a bet of course man, don’t let me stand in the way.

It seems the PL & club officials had productive talks today, the season is still planned to finish.....probably.
Right now situation is very scary for all even authorities also not clear about what to do but if they able to have training sessions good without any big trouble then surely we will able to have this all back soon otherwise its going to be cancel option.

Aguero probably has an agenda because he knows City can’t win the PL. I think he probably would mysteriously be happy to play CL football because City have a good chance to win that.

Well, it's a legit observation. However, more than half of the clubs in the league have nothing to play for anymore.

If there was not the issue of huge money on the table, 15 out of the 20 clubs would probably vote for the season to end. The only thing making them finish the season is the broadcasting money.

The PL clubs will probably get that money regardless of what happens. The PL will likely be obligated to pay them it unless they have a contract that says otherwise. Can't imagine it's a well we didn't get paid so you can't either sort of deal.

Yeah you’re right, plus there’s the legal obligations because I’m pretty sure Sky & BT would be taking measures to claw monies owed back. They paid to broadcast the games in their TV contract.

I don’t think fans will even be allowed to go to the games at the start of the 2020/21 season.

Aguero had an interview today stating how scared the players are to return to play. If the players feel like that, it will be really difficult to force them back, especially in such a short time frame.

I think there is a conference today regarding the health and safety issues, perhaps we will know more about it afterwards. Some people are even proposing that players wear masks, that would really be crazy.

Here's the link to Aguero interview in case somebody's interested.

Aguero probably has an agenda because he knows City can’t win the PL. I think he probably would mysteriously be happy to play CL football because City have a good chance to win that.

I don't think Aguero will care more about Liverpool winning the league than his fellows colleagues and others players health and safety, I could be wrong though, but you should also know Aguero's won one and still have two trophy to challenge for, though.

I strongly doubt any Liverpool player would also be so willing take the field now, tbh.

How do you play 90 minutes even in a closed stadium thinking solely about if any of your opponents could be carrying the virus or even someone from your own team ? Do you they shake and/or hug each other before or during the match, how do celebrate a goal ? or do they play a football match were a defender needs to be 2 meters clear away the attacker ?

The FA really needs to understand that there are certain situations you just have to accept, and this is one of those situations...

PS: My side bet offer is still up for grab..
