Recently I am very poor and now drop from 10 to 13 but still happy I am in above pictures hopefully I will back in good position in next few weeks as this time International break was not good for me LFC is still on top and its very good for him he is super tipster for EPL. Cheesy
I think we all still have a long way to go. One or two good round can give you a place in the top 5. Few weeks ago I was 14th or 15th then the round before the last one I had a good shot that bought me in top 5 and last round bought me in 2nd place. Still LFC leading though.

If you look at the table then you will see there are not much gap between all of us. I see you have 116.50 and that's not too far.

Whoever said the FA needs to come up with fines for needless sacking? I'll support that.

I am not sure if I would support that, the way it is set up brings a bit more of drama to the game. I agree that some clubs are changing their managers way to often but that is sort of crime without victim. That manager who gets sacked usually gets full amount of money he would get if worked his whole agreed duration of the contract. In other words he gets full pay for 4 years of good job for actually doing 1 year of bad job. If that isn't a joke on his employer expanse (club owner) I don't know what is  Grin

Fuck off tokeweed, how dare you. I can see you right up my ass in my mirrors (joking Wink)

Seriously though the competition is so damn close this season, I don’t think it was this close between the top 15 or so before.

Lol.  There's a couple more who wants to be top bastard.  The top 5 is pretty close.

No happy return for SB, I did myself stupid last night. Bet on Villa but predicted a draw. And then my other acca leg failed so I ended up loser on both counts last night.

Not sure I like Everton with a new manager, since teams do get a spirited charge right after a new appointment. Look at Spurs and Dele Ali (spelling?). Like he suddenly got pumped full of steroids.

Whoever said the FA needs to come up with fines for needless sacking? I'll support that.

Edit: Have to share this Pep/Klopp video

Newcastle are currently 2-0 down to Villa. Steve Bruce will be the next to go now  Roll Eyes.
Is this becoming a race to kick out the managers? 🤪
Last 5 minutes of the regular time and Newcastle are still 2 - 0 down. Villa so far conceded 9 late goals (after 80 minutes). Will they concede another one? If they do then score will be 2 - 1 which means a correct score for me with 3 points. 🤣

I would love that!

Edit:
Mah! it's 2 - 0 and I had to settle myself with 1.5 points.
By the way, Villa could score at least two more goals.

I’m not sure why Everton sack their manager all the time, they haven’t won a trophy since 1995. They're not a big club, I don’t know why they think they should be doing better? They don’t spend a lot, I’m not really sure where they think they should be. It’s just about par for the course as Everton.

Wasn't even aware of this, but it's getting ridiculous with the sackings. It's like managers are disposable and clubs can just get rid of them after they've lost a few games. Fergie would have been sacked before he could've even turned United into the behemoth they were for so long. Managers don't even get a chance to build their squads these days and managers coming in and out can't be good for teams. Like I said before, they should bring in some laws where there's some penalties for sacking managers mid season. Start docking teams points if they have to sack managers and it'll soon become a rarity and if you don't have faith in a manager to see out the season then they shouldn't be appointed in the first place. I could maybe understand the sackings if managers came and and did something ridiculous but most of the time it's just the chairmen and money-men behind the scenes who call for the heads based on a little bit of bad form. Newcastle are currently 2-0 down to Villa. Steve Bruce will be the next to go now  Roll Eyes.

A superb free kick from Conor and Aston Villa ahead! The keeper was shocked. The ball hit the left bar and back in the net.

Edit: And another goal!!! 2 - 0 for Villa!
This time Coner's free kick and a little touch from Anwar and ball back in of the net!

I can expect some points from this match now.

What did everyone thing of the offside in the Chelsea game?

Honestly, they need to change the rules for this. So many great goals being over-turned for millimetres.

I still quite don't understand the offside rule perhaps, Is every body of the players that count or just the parts that can be allowed to score a goal with ? If the players hand count, then Sterling was clearly onside, and If the hand doesn't count, It's still not obvious that he was offside. I would love to be in support that goals like this should stand, but If it can be indeed proven that it was an offside (even by millmetres), allowing some goals to stand will lead to further controversies, imho.

Well I think it's any part of the body that can interfere with play makes it offside, hence why that was, but I guess the players hand can interfere with play if he handballs it or even if he uses his hands to pull the player back. Decisions like this make it ridiculous though. Is he meant to have eyes in the back of his head? I'd rather footballer players concentrate on the play/scoring a goal rather if they've become a millimetre offside that then VAR needs to take several minutes to forensically analyse.

Villa vs Newcastle tomorrow. Couldn't be less enthused about a game  Cheesy.
I gone with Aston Villa however this match could end up with a draw as well.

I've gone for the draw. Could go any way though.

I think those borderline situations should be counted as goal. If VAR referee needs to check the video more than let's say 5 times it means that offside is borderline and that goals should stand. I understand that is difficult rule to enforce but this is also bad. Who cares about offside measured in mm? If this continues players will start to cut their nails more often and start ordering shoes one number smaller  Grin

Well they use the terminology 'clear and obvious' but that, like the handball rule, is completely subjective.

Literally moments after I posted above, United pinched themselves and got 3 goals. Ruined my day, but yeah finally a VAR decision that gave the goal as deserved. I mean, seriously, I hate that all we talk about after a match is VAR when there was so much good football going on that should be our focus but how can you blame us for getting stuck on a stupid piece of tech?

It's always going to be controversial, especially when it's disallowing potentially match or tournament winning goals. It's only the first season with it so I'm guessing/hoping they'll tweak it as time goes on but I think I'd rather not even have it at this point. The game is already bogged down with stoppages and time-wasting and this is the worst thing for it.

I am having a feeling that in the next round I will have a bad performance. I may go down from this close shot. It happens with me most of the time and I really do not think this time it will show an exception for me.

May be at the end we will see none of us from top 5 got anything. Someone else will take the 1st spot and the other spots by some others.

While in the league it's easier to say that Liverpool will be the winner, in the pool it's really unpredictable. May be we can bet on each others to have some fun to find the 1st place in the pool?

Yeah, most people are still in with a chance and can quickly move up the table with a few good rounds so don't give up. Always the consolation prizes to play for as well for a great round so there's still some motivation to do your best.
I was not even in the top ten few weeks ago. I was in 14th to 15th place but last round was a really good round for me and that got me in the top 5. This round is going okayish, can not complain. I hope I will finish in a decent position. I never give up. It was meant for tomahawk9.

On topic - I did crap so far this match week, 5 points.
9.5 points so far here and surprise to see tokeweed at the 2nd position 🤪

Well done tokeweed .

Oh wow...  I haven't checked the table yet (I was fourth the last time I did).  Cool cool.  Grin

And is it just me or is Mou's first game with the Spurs a bit underwhelming with the 2 - 3?

I watched the highlights of Sheffield United FC vs. Manchester United and the comeback 2:0 to 2:3 is simply great, but the last goal for the final result of 3:3 is so funny for me that I had to watch this again few times this morning -> https://www.sporttube.com/event/2633138#incident-7243616 take a look, hehe

Well you are just after LFC and in the 2nd position right now. How it's far below? 🤪

All those day it was dominated by LFC and hilariousetc but now things are going harder I guess. The pool is becoming very interesting.

Villa vs Newcastle - As exciting as opening a gift on Christmas morning from your Auntie & it’s a pair of cheap socks.

This really made me laugh Grin
I watched a lot of Newcastle last season because of Rafa and it was.. well, painful. Now it's even worse and Villa is even worse than Newcastle.
But it's the only game tonight so I'll still open these socks and hope they at least aren't stinky and with holes.

If your hand is offside, doesn't matter. The rule says that only parts of the body you can play the ball with count when deciding if something is offside or not. In this picture I'd say Sterling is offside.

I think those borderline situations should be counted as goal. If VAR referee needs to check the video more than let's say 5 times it means that offside is borderline and that goals should stand. Unfortnately, this is not possible. I agree some situations look wrong at first but I think we just need to get used to it. If it is 1mm offside, well, it's still offside. If we use your logic, we're back with the same problem - why do you allow 3mm offside and not a 5mm one? It's just 2mm difference..

I'm not that happy with VAR, especially in England where the rules are way dumber than anywhere else. It is talked about in every league round, but I still think in a few years it will be something we will get used to and that will make it more fair in the end.

Anyway, credit to the youngsters at United. I always hope the team stumble, but if there's anything I can rally behind, it's youth players, so good to see them salvage a point, it was deserved, just for that fightback moment.

I used to watch Newcastle just because of sentiment but with Rafa gone, one less reason to watch. My money's on the Villains. Newcastle are where there are now because of luck (and VAR).

@Trofo you know for sure people actually will start doing everything they can to avoid VAR silliness I guarantee you you're right about shoe sizes.
