does anyone really care about Newcastle United - Brighton & Hove Albion, Bournemouth - Southampton and  Cardiff City - Fulham?
I care. I normally wouldn't even pay attention to those games, but ever since I've joined this Pool I've been keeping an eye out for those games that I usually wouldn't care to watch,  now I might even sit and watch those "boring" games because I want to know if I predicted the correct scores  Cheesy

I don't usually do mine till the end of the week and usually on Friday, but looks like some tricky games to predict this week. A lot of boring fixtures for me. I mean, does anyone really care about Newcastle United - Brighton & Hove Albion, Bournemouth - Southampton and  Cardiff City - Fulham? They'll probably all cancel each other out. I joked in the other Premier League thread about a shock win for United but wouldn't surprise me if it happened haha. I've got a feeling some team will underestimate United at some point and pay the price for it.

It's great EPL is back in action this upcoming weekend, words just cannot express how boring these national team games are and they don't show a decent football at all. I have seen a few games these last days and I confirm, boring to death games to watch on TV. Glad we are going back to see some real beautiful club football this weekend.

Yep, club football is where it’s at. I’ve done my predictions for the next two weeks. Put a lot of thought into them so I’m hoping I do well Cheesy

Wolves vs Watford is actually a decent match.  Both are close in points and fighting for that top-ish midtable slot.  But yeah, the rest are meh.

Doesn't sound as good as when some big names are playing Smiley

That being said I expect a watchable encounter with quite a few goals. I like Wolves this season very much. Maybe because I have 3 players in my Fantasy team.

Nope, of course not.  But decent enough to make stick in from of the screen with some popcorn and beer.  And it's after the early kick off...  No complaints.

Edit:  Watford ML at 5.45..?  Hmmm...

^  Huh?  I didn't know Man City vs Man United is happening the following week.  Grin  Kidding...

Anyway, after Chelsea vs Man United, Wolves vs Watford is actually a decent match.  Both are close in points and fighting for that top-ish midtable slot.  But yeah, the rest are meh.

The German team that won the WC previously is no more, they’re getting old & the new younger players aren’t as good.
I think the young players are pretty good, didn't Germany win the Confederations Cup in 2017 with a B team full of youngsters? People were freaking out about how good that team was without the main squad but Joachim low seems to be pretty hesitant to play that team again, I honestly don't know why he keeps using the likes of Boateng, Kroos, Muller, Neur, Mark Uth, etc, when you have Sané, Draxler, Brandt, Goretzka, Ter Stegen, etc.

Next EPL fixture looks pretty good with some cool games, Wolves - Watford, West Ham - Spurs, but I'm having a hard time trying to predict who's going to be the winner in the Chelsea - Man Utd game, I might end up just just going for a draw, but I'm not sure either :/

I'm not sure what your definition of 'cool' is  Cheesy but none of those games look that great apart from the Chelsea/Man United game and that's the only one I'll be watching from this weekend.  I'm more interested in the La Liga right now as Barcelona are playing Sevilla on Saturday and it's second vs first place. Actually rooting for Sevilla as it's boring Barca and Real winning everything all the time, though I'm sure Sevilla won't stay at the top for long. There's also El Clasico the following week which is always a great fixture.

Yeah, I can really sympthatise with guys like Lovren, all that personal shit to deal with, plus the politics back home with all those charges involving him and other teammates, it's hell to deal with while trying to do your profession well. I won't forget what he did for us against Dortmund (arguably most important comeback since Istanbul).

Salah scored a crazy goal before getting injured, Dijk's just scored against Germany (he'll probably make me lose my bet haha), Robertson's got some flak for his team's loss to Israel. International's generally bad news for me when it comes to Liverpool.

Wijnaldum just took Jerome Boateng to the cleaners

Did you guys watch the Netherlands-Germany game? I just saw the clip and result and now I am wandering has the Dutch started playing really well and should I mark them for future games or has the Germans continued with their shit performances (like in Russia)?

Lovren is our (Croatia) best all around defender. He had the physical attributes and game to be that for last 5 or even 10 years but managed to became mandatory only in the last year or so. He still gets his trademark blackouts but they are happening much less then before.

I think the Netherlands will qualify for the next major tournament & maybe go to the 1/4 final. They’ve had a bad spell in missing tournaments but they’ll make the next one.

With Lovren, hopefully his mistakes are behind him, I think he’s 29 so now is time to come into his peak & mature on the pitch.

^  What kind of 'sh*t'?  Kinky sh*t?  Please do tell...  It's quite a boring weekend with no club football and all.  Lololol.  Grin

Oh and this is what I hate about international friendlies or whatever:  Salah is injured. Not that I'm an LFC fan fan or anything, but it sucks.

His wife cheated on him with a fucking lumber-jack from back home from her childhood. Bedroom shots were leaked to media. She was doing it when Lovren was playing away in Europe, the slut.

I think he may have got robbed twice at his home too so he hasn’t had a great time.

Yeah, the penalty is a typical one to concede. Lovren played incredible. However, I always feel he has a mistake in him even when he's playing like a boss.

I have been keeping an eye on Lovren career from his beginnings (we are both from Croatia). He gets quite a lot of space in our sports newspapers, so I read short reports of his games even when I am not watching the particular game.

By far the best quote which perfectly captures his performances is: "Lovren is often the best man on pitch, until he isn't". I believe it was said by some Liverpool legend, probably Jamie Carragher.

Probably accurate. He can dominate games when hes on his game, but then he has the habit of making a pretty bad mistake, and then running himself into the ground. I'm not 100% familiar with Lovrens story, but I do remember him having quite a heartbreaking one, and he also had his house broken into in Liverpool.

I have close up & personal experiences of Lovren fucking up & costing us games, at times almost single handedly. He’s been good since Spurs away last season though on 22/10/17 where he got subbed off before half time after some embarrassing mistakes. But as I said he’s been really good for a while now so no complaints from me.

I read about his wife doing shit to him, disgusting really & I don’t want to talk about that Sad

Liverpool with their blitz tactics within the first few moments of the game could of really punished City. City seemed to be in dire straights, and couldn't even get out of their half without giving up possession. However, there wasn't any shots on target at this point so City could probably be happy with their defense which has proven to be shaky in the past against Liverpool. Mahrez penalty was a shocker. Having said that Alison seemed to dive the right way at least.

Exactly. Liverpool almost did the job in the first 15 minutes, but for a lack of penetration to keeper. And Alison had his glove in the right place too... though the venom on the shot, had it been on target, would probably have still guided the ball in. We were lucky, and this kind of luck will get us through.

Can't help feeling a bit bummed. Draw was a wonderful result, for sure, but this was Anfield. We'll need to smack them full force away.

I think VD was good, everybody makes those mistakes, he was literally an inch away from a brilliant tackle.

And is Lovren a changed man or what? Pity he wasn't half as incredible when we lost to Chelsea.
That's why I'm really not to concerned about Liverpool in the title race so far. They are joint top when their front 3 haven't even been firing, and on form. As soon as they start linking up like last season, but actually putting away their chances we could see Liverpool not only win most of their games, but rack up that goal difference too.

Yeah, the penalty is a typical one to concede. Lovren played incredible. However, I always feel he has a mistake in him even when he's playing like a boss.
