Anybody wanna do a small side bet for fun on who wins the pool?  The top three are so close and with eleo and the two guys below him gaining.  So it's really anybody's game here with the top 6.

Just 10 bucks.  Grin

There's 25 rounds remaining, I'd say that anyone in top 20 can win it Cheesy

Yeah, you're right.  I guess I'll wait until late Feb or early March before starting the side bet...  And I wish BTC picks up soon cos it would be easier to convince everybody to join.  Grin

This is a really, really tough pool. I think I am actually somehow surprised I did rather well so far, but this is so far from over and people at the top are doing so well. Remember, this pool looked so different a few rounds back and it will 100% look different in 7 or 8 more rounds. I tried a few risky predictions and got them right, but on the normal predictions I got them totally wrong. Like when Newcastle won, a lot of us predicted. But like last night Huddersfield won and I predicted a draw, only a few did but that was like not a risky enough prediction so still end up 0 points like others. TOUGH!

An OK day for me as far as predictions are concerned. The Fulham - Southampton and United - Palace games screwed me over though - if I had swapped over my predictions for those two games I would have had a nice extra 6 points. I had predicted a close win for United, since they were starting to pick up a bit of form again although their defence is still poor, and a goalless draw for the two bottom of the table clubs. I thought Ranieri's first move would be to try to shore up Fulham's defence.

Oh well. Still, well done to Ranieri for securing a 100% record at Fulham (Grin). Will be interesting to see if he can get them out of the relegation zone.

FFS slaman has overtaken me & I’m now in 2nd place, you bastard slaman Cheesy
Let’s see what happens in the rest of the games, I wouldn’t be surprised if somebody else goes into 1st place by the end of the weekend, it’s just so close.

Edit - Wow, just looked, Tottenham are 2-0 up against Chelsea after 20 mins. I put Spurs 2-1 Chelsea in the predictions.

Still #1 as I can see. Seems a few of us thought Spurs should win, even though only 28% in superbru did.

I find it incredible that I watch games and feel that I'm doing really well, but then check predictions and they're not quite the picks I thought I made haha. Must be when I change picks and forget. Still one of my better weeks so far, judging from weekly positions. But the same old faces are always doing battle for top spots.

You've been #1 for a while now, should congratulate you for holding on so well.

P.S. Finally, 3 points to 3-0 Liverpool!

I watched our game on a stream, 1st half Watford defended well & frustrated us. It was annoying to watch tbh!
2nd half Mo scored & that made them come out from parking the bus which made it a lot easier. My stream cht out literally just as Trent was running up to take the free kick so I didn’t see the 2nd or 3rd goal unfil watching highlights on Sky Sports app Cheesy

Great 3 points any way, we’re following City every step of the way.

I’m going to our next 3 home gsmes vs Everton, Napoli & Man Utd (on somebody else’s season ticket Grin).

Well that’s a positive, don’t talk to me about the bitcoin price though, Jesus Christ!

Dilly ding dilly dong was his phrase. And yes, he used to buy Leicester players all pizza. It seemed to work, so who are we to judge? Grin He was quoted as saying pizza doesn't it cut it anymore, and so he was stepping his game up to burgers.

Maybe that's his plan - if he fills his defenders up with fast food and makes them all bloated and lazy, they'll stop moving around the pitch so much and being caught way out of position. Genius!

^  Bad idea on feeding his players the McD's.  That stuff will make you run slower and tire easy.  And not to mention the lower libido.  Loolol.  Cheesy

Didn't he use to buy pizza every time his previous team won a game? Ding a ling pizza or something. Seems to have worked, not sure why McD now, aren't they a lot more expensive? Fast food's in general a sort of crazy high, then it brings you down bad. I know because I used to wolf down junk food right after football and wash it down with Guiness. Made me feel nice immediately but slow as turd hours later.

I used to like Mcdonalds as a kid & even in my early to mid 20’s. I’m in my early 30’s now & I think it tastes like fucking shit Cheesy

As you get older you develop a much more refined palate from holidaying, travelling etc.

Ashamed to say that parents were super strict on junk food... we'd get KFC for birthdays maybe, no snacks and fizzy drinks. Then I left home around 17, lived by myself and practically lived on all the stuff I "missed out" on in childhood. Daily coke, burgers and fries (street food though so much cheaper)... and yeah now approaching 40s I actually think they taste really bad. Don't know what changed but picked up other bad habits after 30s... and dropped the good ones (football).

But uh, yes, back on point. Just made my predictions (changed them more like) and putting a Fulham win instead of a draw. I had been backing them for wins many times I mean they play OK football really.

Liverpool 3-0 finally? Mane and Salah seemed to have escaped injury from African duties...

Well, with the news that Ranieri has promised to buy every player in his new team a McDonald's for every clean sheet they maintain, I fully expect Fulham to have 28 clean sheets for the rest of the season. I would make sure to adjust your predictions accordingly. Grin

Also talking of injuries, good news for Arsenal after both Aubameyang and Lacazette both dropped out of international games with injuries, but were both back in training this week ahead of the games at the weekend. Less good news for United with Lukaku, Pogba and Rashford all missing training and all potentially being out this week with minor injuries. Martial and Fellaini were back in training after also picking up minor injuries during the international break.

I think it’s a mixture of luck & knowledge, I’m top at the moment but I’ve had a couple of terrible weeks. There’s loads of games coming up over the festive period & I could easily find myself 10th if I have a couple of bad weeks.

ANYBODY can still win this pool (well anybody in the top 10-15). You just have to keep trying your best & cross your fingers that you hit good scores a couple of match weeks in a row.

All is to play for, keep going gentlemen!

^Every single game is significantly influenced with luck factor. I fully agree with that part. But luck evens out during months, especially years and knowledge is the thing that makes the difference in the long run.

It is not luck, it is knowledge. For years I have had best results when betting on Champions league matches and tennis. This few pools I am participating only confirmed it for me. I have best results in CL pool, Mediocre in Premier League and this week I managed to get 0 points on predicting National League games.

It's both luck and knowledge. Nobody can predict a correct outcome consistently without a bit of luck and that's what sports betting always is. You can certainly make educated guesses based on a bit of research but the results are always out of your hands and with the players on the pitch. There can be penalties, injuries and sendings off, not to mention just having a bad game. Even so called experts or football pundits often don't do that well with the scores. In fact, I think I beat most of the BBC and Skybet ones last year. I wouldn't call myself an expert but I do spend a few hours on my predictions and weigh up lots of factors and it works to some extent as I do pretty well in these competitions and am in profit from gambling, but my luck will probably run out eventually.

I agree, luck is always a factor but of course with sportsbetting, the guy who randomly makes predictions can eventually lose out to the guys who knows the league well. For example, I am quite good at predicting results (not scores though) in my own national leagues, so I more often win office bets with friends who only follow it from the news.

With knowledge you know which teams play well, which teams don't have their good players fully fit, things like that. Sometimes last minute changes like injury also are key, and you know some teams don't play their best in certain cup games. But LUCK is always there. Offside goals. Bad penalties.

I’m just off to submit my predictions now.

If you could make a bunch of wild 6-0 predictions that would be great. Give me a chance to catch up with you. Grin

I'm going to wait until Friday night/Saturday morning to do my predictions. Every time I do it days in advance and spend time looking at previous results, goals, injuries, tactics, news, etc. I seem to do worse than when I just go on pure gut feeling.

If he does that, the games will probably end with 6:0 result and he will have even bigger lead  Undecided

Now I only need to find strength to stop betting on all the things I know I am not good at. That being said I have a nice ticket for this evening matches which will probably push me further into red.

I’ll probably mess around with mine before the weekend too. I didn’t lock them so always a chance to change predictions.
