I know COGNITIVE is planning to move to another exchange... what about COG.F, COG.F2, and FIMB? Will they be moving as well?

Thanks!

What's a GPU?
I just emailed a number of asset platforms, asking them to convince us to use theirs. Right now I think Havelock is one of the better options.

Yesterday, I placed an order for Cognitive from CoinTerra! I negotiated a discounted rate so we were able to purchase 14 2th/s boxes for a total hashrate of 28th/s, to be delivered in January!

For added protection, I signed a contract with CoinTerra that includes: "If delivery is beyond January 31 2014, for every thirty days late CoinTerra is in delivery of hardware, CoinTerra shall deliver an additional 30% of the total
hashpower agreed to in this contract. if no hardware is delivered within 180 days after January
31, a full refund shall be made to Cognitive."

I can't wait to see where share price goes once we list on a new exchange, and as we get closer and closer to delivery Cheesy

The fees on BitFunder are just way too high. I'm strongly for a transition to Havelock.

Edit: Also its written poorly and awfully slow sometimes (most of the time)

Perhaps we can fill out this table and add columns/rows as people think of more things that are important, or have other suggestions?

I've used Havelock for a while and always been please with the interface and services.

One point I think is worth making (NOT 100% on THESE FACTS, MAYBE SOMEONE CAN CONFIRM) I think Havelock is run from Canada and Bitfunder is run from the States.  This makes me think Bitfunder may be more of a risk going forward. Like someone said in the Bitfunder thread:  The U.S. Government does not care where your services are hosted, or how you claim ownership is divided up, and especially if you are a U.S. citizen that appears to be in control, they will move in regardless.

The news just arrived yesterday and we have about a month to plan for a transition. Do you really expect a decision to have been made already?

Can you give reasons explaining why you prefer BitFunder?

Thanks Garr for all your work.  We know you have transitioned us to a new exchange before, and that you will follow through again.  Looking forward to see what unfolds over the next couple of months.

yeah I would have gotten some great fills today across the board IF BURNSIDE DIDN'T CLEAR THE ENTIRE EXCHANGE'S ORDER BOOK... AT 5AM EASTERN STANDARD TIME GAAHHHHHH

I should have been algo trading, instead of placing orders on the books.

I'm curious who that is too. What a steal... I'll gladly buy all 10 of those for 1btc each!

I will be posting here, and emailing all shareholders with an easy "how-to" guide, describing everything you need to do to migrate. I will work to make the transition as easy as possible on shareholders.

Cheers,
Garrett

Ok. Thanks. An email would be nice since I'm not able to check the thread very often. But I guess the whole thing will be happening around October end,  at btct closure, right?

I own a few cog.f2 contracts. I also have an account at BitFunder. Can someone please explain me how this migration will look like if we move to some other market than BitFunder? Do I need to open an account before migration? Will the contract holders be contacted by email?

Actually it is hard, which is why most companies have entire accounting departments?

Most companies use Quicken or some other software and stopped having accounting depts years ago.

Yeah IBM and Ford now use Quicken. Saved them millions a year.

Yep, and if the argument is for small-to-medium businesses I guess that's why accounting team startups don't exist.

personally i would prefer havelock over bitfunder. but certainly a legitimate decentralized exchange would be the best choice if one is available or trustworthy

I totally agree. I wish OpenTransactions was far enough along to use, and to be able to be used by those not so tech-savvy!

why isn't MPEx on the table?

Just kidding.

I recently took two accounting courses as part of my degree program. There was a ton to learn to competently provide and maintain the various balance sheets/cash flow statements. While I agree that some concepts such as credits/debits might be an easy enough concept to understand, I disagree in that internalizing everything to produce regular financial reports is difficult unless you put the time in to learn it all. Accountants are the ones that learn it all, and for the most part not these Bitcoin "issuers" and "investors". Yes, tracking mining assets may be simpler, but I believe the vast lack of statements from any of these issuers proves my point that it's a learning curve most won't pursue.
