There are no professional gamblers, there is only luck on one's side. As if there is great confidence in ourselves. Money management is very important for people who are often active every day in the world of gambling. If there is no money management, then it could be that they will experience financial losses. However, for those who enjoy gambling as entertainment, money management may not be as necessary as it is
I agree with what you said, it is quite reasonable to say that there are no professional gamblers in any way, no matter how smart someone is at gambling, they are still more likely to lose than win. Those who believe that they can win by gambling and with a strategy that they believe can make them win will make them more confident in gambling, but no one can avoid disappointment.

And in my opinion, maybe those who actively gamble by being able to manage their finances well are more likely to be responsible and disciplined gamblers, because even though they often gamble, they remain in good self-control so that there is no careless behavior.
If you say that they are professional in gambling, it seems more likely that they can win more often than they lose, while I think losing is something that is quite difficult to avoid.
The only ones with great power are bookies and corporate teams that can make us win big, various ways of betting on games will only confuse our minds. Enjoy the game without hope and let the money flow just enough. Maybe life playing gambling will be more relaxed, not carried away by the flow of ambition that has no power, just waiting patiently for your turn to win.

This idea is a who lot of job and something that will be difficult to implement but if actually applied could be very helpful. To be honest, I don't see myself doing this because of the time it will take me and for the fact that analyzing different matches and sporting events is already a who lot of time consuming job. Gambling is not the only thing I do and if I add this to my gambling, which is like record keeping, other things will suffer lack of attention like some are already doing as the football season approaches the peak. I only track my spending on gambling to ensure it is not much of a burden on me, this is enough for me for the moment.
This differs from individuals and when you are mostly occupied with lot of activities there would be no much space to track your records on gambling especially if the person is gambling within their means, than gambling above their budgets and of course, when you are pre-occupied or so much engaged with lot of other activities then your gambling activity will also reduce and there will be no much time given to gambling instead will focused on your works.

This might be new for some who just gamble without a real bankroll, but for those who are serious about sports betting, consider this: data is crucial for tracking your journey. According to a site I found that also shows a good format for spreadsheet tracking, here are the benefits of keeping tabs on your bets.

So, sports bettors, has it ever crossed your mind to keep a spreadsheet?

The idea of studying to become a pro in gambling? I must say it's of no use but it'll if really you take gambling as a job or something like it so it's important to track your bets in making sure you hit your target of bigger returns but on a norms it's not advisable to firstly study to be a gambler, then tracking your bets but in another perspective I think it's good to keep track of gambling habits inorder to make sure you ain't going beyond your gambling allocated limits, so definitely no need to keep the spreadsheet.

I do track my expenses, only to know if I am spending extremely more than I have earned this month or no, so that next month I should slow down with money spending. Same method might gamblers to understand if they should slow down betting, or maybe it will be wise to pause gambling for a while. But I dont really understand how it will help me to become pro.
Pros track their sports betting performance. Tracking isn’t about limiting expenses, if you're a responsible gambler, you've already set a bankroll that you can afford to lose over a certain time. If you lose it all, you don’t add more. And don’t think of it like expenses, that makes it sound like you expect to lose.

With same example that I track expenses, that does not help me to become a pro in earning money. But for a gambler, that wont help to understand if, for example, one football team will definitely have a victory over other and I should place a bet on it. It can only show where I am better at predicting winner.
Personal expenses and gambling funds are different. If you treat gambling like an expense, you’ll never become a pro- that mindset will hold you back.

How exactly can this table help, despite only showing general info for a person who dedicates lots of time to sports betting. It only helps to follow general results. And even then, does it shows correct data? Look at Overall All_time data. $123+$7+$38-$52 = $116, but table shows $123. Already confusing. What can I say by look on this table? Place more bets on NBA, as a persons seems to be more lucky with choosing results. But that does not help me to find a bet with lower risk of loosing.
this is a kind of book of financial records and nothing more. Yes, you are right that it will not help in the correct forecast of events. There are people who are very bothered with calculating their expenses and apparently the table that was shown to us is just from this category. The amounts indicated in the table are absolutely not large, so I would not keep track of my expenses, I already know how much I spend per month on gambling.

So, sports bettors, has it ever crossed your mind to keep a spreadsheet?
This spreadsheet actually involves a lot of technicality and unless you are knowledgeable about using spreadsheet you are likely to run into problems when you use an already made one downloaded from the internet. You can become a pro if you make your own simple spreadsheet that you understand.

It has never crossed my mind to keep a spreadsheet because it is not something  that I am used to. I use my WhatsApp to track my bets even though I just want to enjoy the moment, I still feel it is important to have it.

The spreadsheet is not the only way to track your bets. I track my using my WhatsApp, I know my friends use  have a small notepad to write his bets, the amount, the day, the sportbook and other bet stuff. This is his own method that he likes and has been using for a long while.

For pro gamblers, it is recommended to have spreadsheet to know how good their progress in gambling. They can also introspect from their gambling activities so far so they can know what it needs to be fixed. That spreadsheet will helps them to have more data about the team and other things including about how much money they already use to gamble.

They can compare between the win and the lose so they can improves their skills if they still needs to learn more about the analysis. But I never crossed in my minds to keep a spreadsheet because I am playing gambling only for have fun and not to becomes a pro gambler. I know that will difficult for me and maybe that will needs too much money before I can be a pro gambler.

What are the benefits of tracking your bets?

1. You can find what bet types you excel at.  By tracking your bets, and grouping the data by bet type (spreads, totals, moneylines, props, parlays, teasers) you can quickly find out what types profit you the most, and which ones cause you to lose your bankroll to the books.

2. Learn what leagues you profit from the most. This is a big one, and although you probably have a good idea of what leagues you're best at, grouping your bet data by league can greatly improve your chances of figuring out exactly what is causing those wins on your NFL bets, and causing those big losses for NHL bets, for example.

3. Spot any favoritism or biases you have.  I spoke with a semi-pro bettor named William after the 2020-21 NBA season. Will told me that after the season, he broke all his tracked bet data down by team and compared it to the research he had done before he placed each bet. He realized that there were at least 15 times he lost a bet where his research had pointed him to bet on one team, but his favoritism caused him to bet on the opposite team!  Crazy right?  Think of all the biases that could be keeping you from making the right decisions.

4. The ability to follow your money.  By this I mean knowing where your money is going, where you are putting the most in, where you are losing the most, and what areas you are profiting the most

So, sports bettors, has it ever crossed your mind to keep a spreadsheet?
I like to gamble, but I never thought about becoming a professional gambler because I think it's quite difficult and even impossible to happen, I don't know what kind of professional gambler you mean, whether it's those who can win consistently by always succeeding in making a profit, but that's also impossible because if it were like that, maybe many people would have made gambling a source of income.
With those who are rich, gambling which certainly uses a large amount of bets, are people like this who are professional gamblers, I don't know for sure but occasionally I see people who are silent for a long time and then place a bet and can win, but I think that's just because luck is on their side not because they are good at predicting.

No, I never thought about it because in reality I do not always track all the betting results in recent times and the conditions that might make me track it are when I have had series of consecutive losses and it is just to accumulate the amount of losses whether it has reached the limit that I set or is still below it.
But for some people it might be an interesting and good idea, it just that I not sure there will be many who want to do it, it depends on how each person approaches the development of their bets in gambling.

Well having a spreadsheet is good idea actually for tracking your journey especially if you really want to know if you're making money on gambling or not. Wherein you will not basing on your thoughts anymore and you know how much you spend and how much you earned from it.
And yes that's what pro gamblers doing in order for them to minimize their losses as well and to make adjustments for the next game ,and of course to monitor which game they can make wins and where to rely to maintain their wins.  So yes i can say it's advisable for gamblers to have spreadsheet especially those who really obsessed with gambling and want to become successful.

I'm good with the aid keeping records provides on spotting favoritism. It places a gambler on the mode of trusting their instincts instead of following favorite. Having those traces and figuring out how many times money has been lost due to persisting mistakes, the zeal to adjust begin to fall into the gambler's mind. Doing it works, but I doubt if it'll make anybody a gambling pro.

Keeping a dedicated spreadsheet for betting can be an advantage indeed, when comes to studying one journey through the world of sport-bettting. The only downside I see from having and keeping a dedicated spreadsheet is the possibility of them to encourage people to always be in green numbers and always to try to make money out every single bet they have put on the table, eventually it could all devolve into chasing losses.
One first need to make a spreadsheet exclusively dedicated to track one's personal finances and budget before jumping onto making a sheet to bet in sports, and only allow one to partake in betting if one's monthly income allows it.

I am yet to use spreadsheets for keep track of my performance, I will start doing it when the time of the next Football world cups comes in.

The experience gamblers will keep their records of both gain and loss in the gambling site. But this record will be continued until the gambler loss profile over come the gain profile with the huge margin. At this stage the gamblers should play the game and make the money they need to manage the gambling gain in the gambling site. One negative impact was their in tracking their bets, the gamblers may get more emotional for their huge loss.So they start to play the game with more emotion will leads to the more negative consequences at the end.

This is more interesting to have trackings on every bets, I think having spreadsheet is definitely a big for analyzing several trend of sport betting. Becoming a pro with gambling is always having huge possibilities to achieve, it needs a long process and there's no shortcut for it. In this strategy, I believed you could gain future benefits like quick reference and reliability.

We can try to keep track record of our gambling activities, but things doesn't end there because there is more expected of us to work on and do, if we must have a change in what we used to see, then keeping record is not the only way forward, but making changes by running a check on the strategy and pattern to how we are gambling, analyze the bets and available games on each match, when all these have been fulfilled, then we may also see how consistent are we towards checking/tracking your bet, some gamblers like to keep a track while some detest for that because they see it discouraging.

The majority of the replies I'm reading here don't like the idea of this data keeping either due to how time-consuming it appears to be or how confusing the data is already showing based on the screenshot shared.

Well, to start with, it will be a waste of my time to say that I'm going to save up the time. I don't have to take a record of each bet, the amount of time, what type of game I played, and the end result of the game.

This appears like a full-time job, and with all this process, it's going to be profit-based only gambling; there will be no fun in between the times that should be used to enjoy the normal game. The times you are using to calculate, if it will help to reduce spending, that's fine, but if it's because of a check and balance between winning and losing, I don't consider it necessary.

Taking your time to learn about the leagues you profit from is a very good strategy in sports betting that can give you leverage over the market. To excel in sports betting you must take out your Time to study the market and do proper analysis. Keeping tracks with your bets can actually be a good way to learn from your mistakes. I always make a lot of Profit when I focus only on Spanish league, my main option is just to pick under 2.5 on just carefully selected games and my profits are quite higher than my losses. Studying can indeed make you a pro.

Without having to argue about the results from data analysis and having a spreadsheet that defines just about the niche and how much you’ve spent on gambling, including that which is profitable to you or not, gambling sites keeps these stats for you. There is always a win, lose and unsettled bet statistics on your bet history. It comes with filters and it’s easy to just having to analyze that if it’s of any importance to you.

Also, subconsciously, if you’re a consistent gambler, you don’t need statistics to tell you what niche is more favorable to you or where you excel more at. You would know, just having to recall even while considering your lost accumulator bets.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
Keeping records is always the best option. We need to understand that now a days, data is the real wealth. So yes, many rich people already follow this trick to manage their expenses. They consider gambling as one of their expenses as well. Now, as a normal gambler who does moderate gambling, managing an Excel sheet with data can be too much hassle, but this will eventually help the user to do sensible gambling and that too by following a limit. I myself don’t keep records, as I do sports betting mainly and that too occasionally. But managing the date can really help to understand the importance of money and the way you are spending it on each bet.
Recording your monthly expenses in a spreadsheet may be good especially for financial management so that it can be better known but for gambling I don't do any records, because in the principle of gambling is betting by being ready to lose means you have to be fully responsible.

Why not record gambling this is not a job, this is not to make money so there is no need for any records to see for me it is not necessary.
We know gambling for fun is the same as throwing money at gambling.
