Funny how some people think that somehow since they couldn't "Win the race" buying up the upgrade boards, that KNC still owes them something....  or they got treated unfairly......
Total B.S.  You snooze, you loose..... I did.   Cry

i didn't snooze man, i ordered right at 8am.... the payment system they used had its flaws
"They used"....Bitpay!   There just is no better system.  lol

Didnt shillorama say Bitpay crashed due to all the payments for boards, really good payment system . . .

@ Orama

If I already have a commercial UPS account, any chance I can get KnC to use it (save them and me money, allows my rep to stay on top of it for me). I have 4 on order so it would save a significant sum.

Don't get your hopes too high. If it's not convenient for them, they will probably decline, citing established procedures.
I have quite a lot of experience in this  Grin

I went over to pickup my Jupiter in October and I'll go over to pick another one up, hopefully in a few weeks. It cost the same to fly as it did to ship Smiley Plus I might get another t-shirt from Orama Tongue

Never happened! Tongue

I've got another bag!

Haha deal! Grin

...annnnnd this thread is starting to give me cancer again.

Yes they could have conducted this upgrade sale better but OMG I can barely read some of this crap. What is it that makes so many bitcoin miners insanely emotional and entitled?

If I was in KNC shoes I would make a preferred customers list and blacklist 90% of the people here since there is no lack of demand for their products and a seemingly infinite supply of emotionally immature customers with an overwhelming feeling of entitlement. They could save themselves a lot of grief that way...

If you are so unhappy close this thread, never come back and don't buy KNC products.

It's not 90% of the people. It's 5-10 people only Smiley

If you were them, wouldn't you include the price of the shipping in the total price and offer free shipping? In terms of revenue you would get the same amount of money, but also you will get happy customers. Or charge $30 for shipping and change the product price accordingly.
Can you think of a single reason why charging $180 for shipping, instead of including that in the price is better?
I don't have a BA (Hons) Business Studies degree, so I wouldn't presume an attempt at an answer. Wink

LOL sorry CYPER but this was funny Smiley

You are free to laugh as long as Tehfiend allows it, so do check with him.
I will be laughing all the way to Stockholm, while going to get my new shiny boards and exchange my faulty ones.
If I bought 10 I would have saved $600 on shipping and could hire a helicopter to go there in style  Grin

So i own some first batch KNC miners, but as i was not the original buyer i did not have access to buying more boards, I don't even know if they have any left, I don't imagine so as it was only 200 boards and 3 boards max per buyer. Maybe an original buyer could check for me and we could arrange something? Or if anyone has bought many of these up and is looking to sell, please contact me

thanks in advance

Don't let it kill you bro...  Enjoy it for the entertainment value Smiley

This thread, like most large-scale human interaction, oscillates wildly between equally ridiculous extremes - and the truth, as always, lies somewhere in the middle.

But that's no reason why you can't enjoy watching the gladiators engage and the carnage that ensues Smiley

It's possible though that I mistake your purpose...  Maybe your post was not really a protest, but just you leaping into the fray? Wink

I know it feels like they are ripping people off with postage, I don't think they are on the raw UPS express cost, But I agree that 3 boards shouldn't cost 3 x the postage, you should be able to get them for the one price, combine the postage for less total cost.

My point was that I highly doubt they pay more than $80USD to ship 3 modules with insurance to the UK and they charge $180.
My question is WHY?

Pick $1,000 value

Be amazed at how expensive everything is in Sweden. They are not profiteering from shipping. Cyper you are coming here to pick up, be prepared to be astounded, take some time to check out the prices of things.

I don't know if I should feel offended by you trying to convince me that 3 small boards costs $180 to send to the UK  Grin

http://www.p4d.co.uk - £38.76 for next day delivery + £20 for insurance up to £1000.

FFS dude it's a price comparison site, like interparcel.com, and all the other budget courier sites you added earlier. They do the leg work on the ground for the brand name couriers and pool shipments and hand the over at DHL/UPS/Fedex's depos to be sorted so they can charge less. They are not who a business relies on, especially when pressed for time. If anything goes wrong wth those they have to mediate with the real logistic company.

Great for personal one=offs and ebay delivery/purchases, not for businesses with customers in over 120 countries and high-value items you may need to frequently chase, or change.

You must have misunderstood why I gave this sites as a reference. I have never said, nor implied that KNC should use them.
It just shows what the prices are when you have a business/premier/high volume/ account with a big courier company and I wouldn't be surprised if KNC have access to even lower rates.
Please stop trying to convince me that they pay anything close to $180.

Google Swedish tax rates...

Is there any chance that the results will make me genuinely believe the shipping charges are appropriate?
These "Swedish tax rates" didn't apply to a whole Jupiter then, cause I paid only $120 to ship it.

Plenty of companies do the "low product price with 100% to 300% markup on shipping" and plenty do the "higher margin product price with FREEEE FREEEE FREEE (did I mention FREEEEEEE) shipping".  Both work.  KNC chose the former.   If they chose the later you would have people complaining the price was too high and the FRREEEEEEEEE shipping was just a gimmick.

Generally companies choose the former when they want to avoid sticker shock.  Excluding the shipping made a nice psychological three digit number which potential customers could think about for a day.  When you finally got the shipping page you probably had already committed to purchashing.  That combined with the rush and limited supply means I doubt very many customers backed out at the last minute.  In short, they did it because it works (and will continue to work).

And see how many people expressed concerns of the over inflated shipping charges. Paying more to ship 3 boards, than to ship a whole Jupiter. Yeah makes perfect sense.

I think we are just wondering if they are going to stick multiple boards in one box and refund the extra shipping.  I only bought 2 but people buying 6 would be getting shafted if they actually send 6 shipments to one person
