Every company makes money off of shipping. It's a great profit point for my business. I love getting 40% off FedEx and charging book rate.

If I was in KNC shoes I would make a preferred customers list and blacklist 90% of the people here since there is no lack of demand for their products and a seemingly infinite supply of emotionally immature customers with an overwhelming feeling of entitlement. They could save themselves a lot of grief that way...

If you are so unhappy close this thread, never come back and don't buy KNC products.

So far most of your posts that I have seen are complaints. What I can tell you as a company owner is that I would be very cautious about helping anybody who had so many complaints. Two reasons: I am not likely to satisfy them. 2) The first will lead to more complaints -- giving me a no-win situation. So it becomes easier to do nothing. This leads to you doing more complain -- and looking very unreasonable to anyone listening. Somehow I doubt that you are anywhere near as bad as it seems.

Now if this offends you -- just say so and I will do my best to avoid your posts and commenting on them

Wow... Just wow.

So, basically, a customer thinks the price of the shipping is high but...

...it is fine, "I love getting 40% off FedEx and charging book rate."

...it is all right, just put him in a "blacklist" because he is "immature customers with an overwhelming feeling of entitlement".

...he is unreasonable, so "I would be very cautious about helping anybody who had so many complaints".

When americans adapt german words, they should use the plural (Kindergärten) also ^^

Well, see that's how we nefarious Americans work...  First we steal the word from your language, then we change the plural (in English) to match our way of pluralization Wink  In American English, the correct plural of kindergarten really is kindergartens. Cheesy  Our keyboards don't have umlauts (Or at least we can't be bothered to type multiple characters to make one) Cheesy

Lol, well, I don't know many kindergartens here in the US that teach German, but it's definitely off-topic Cheesy

KNC  delivered a broken product and does not reply to any of our phone calls or emails to solve the issue. Angry

This is COMPLETE Bullshit.    I am very critical of how Bitcoin companies do business and have dealt with a lot of mining manufacturers.    KNC is BY FAR the most responsive and the most professional when it comes to customer service.
What I truly appreciate about them is, when a problem comes up, they still reply and deal with it, instead of being like most companies that just stop answering.
Find something else to criticize them on because your statement is a complete lie

If I already have a commercial UPS account, any chance I can get KnC to use it (save them and me money, allows my rep to stay on top of it for me). I have 4 on order so it would save a significant sum.

Don't get your hopes too high. If it's not convenient for them, they will probably decline, citing established procedures.
I have quite a lot of experience in this  Grin

My advice:

Put together a well reasoned letter saying what you want done -- about everything.. conclusions first -- no reasoning.

Put the reasoning second -- starting at page two.

Moist company employees (and complaint handlers) don't read beyond the first paragraph or the first page -- except to skim -- if the proposals are reasonable.

If there are concerns then and only then will people look at the reasoning -- because it is a lot of work.

Um not sure why I needed 2 not so helpful responses to my question... Im not going to write a letter for them t accept something that takes them no time and effort and saves us both money. I asked for a simple answer, and looks like with all this typing I should have just called.

Bob:

I was thinking more of CYPER -- but it sounds like yours would just take a few lines.

Might be worth the time -- then you can say you did things the right way.

Enough time playing Ann Landers... and giving advice for the BTC deprived.

Do whatever you like -- it's your time and money.

And see how many people expressed concerns of the over inflated shipping charges. Paying more to ship 3 boards, than to ship a whole Jupiter. Yeah makes perfect sense.

The proof is in the pudding.  The sold out in what an hour?  Now if there were still 190 of 200 unsold and tons of people complaining saying they won't place an order until the shipping is fixed you might have a point.  Not saying it is the best strategy but it worked (and honestly it will probably work again and again and again and ... ok now I am just wasting bytes).

Guys, I will have 1 module for sale once it arrives. I just realized that I I can only fit 2 more, not 3.

I'm starting to question my purchase.  Can a Jupiter run 6 modules?  Or only 5?

Plenty of companies do the "low product price with 100% to 300% markup on shipping" and plenty do the "higher margin product price with FREEEE FREEEE FREEE (did I mention FREEEEEEE) shipping".  Both work.  KNC chose the former.   If they chose the later you would have people complaining the price was too high and the FRREEEEEEEEE shipping was just a gimmick.

There's also companies that have web devs that know how to issue a query to the mail carrier's API and retreive the actual cost for the package and have the customer pay the actual cost of shipping.
