Shipping price from Sweden to UPS zone 7 (Southern California) $136.80 USD.

That's interesting. They wanted to charge me $160. (I chose pickup.)

thanks for the info. this is quite precious. if memory serve someone looking at a picture taken during the first openday has speculated about the use of structured asic chips from easic.

I found the post I was referring to

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.2410136

an old but good write up on going the other way with this..  (std cell asic to fpga)

http://www.altera.com/literature/an/an311.pdf

I think this is why kncminer is wondering why someone like BFL just didnt port their fpga over to asic like they are

thanks for the link

Im sorry if this has been said before, I did use the search function on this thread to try to find my answer on shipping and import tax.  Just because I am a bit confused, rebelrat said that VAT doesnt exist for the US, another had said there was no import tax, but a solid number on the cost for shipping a KNC miner to the US is not established.  Is there any assumptions or speculation as to what the final cost would be to ship a Jupiter or Saturn from Stockholm to the US?  Thier site states that all shipping costs will be passed onto those who purchase.

I have never ordered from EU before, so I am a bit unsure.  Thanks!

VAT doesn't apply to US orders, but you will need to pay a small < 1% import merchandise fee.

Well, being among the first 10 rather than 800 could easy translate to a couple of days or even weeks. Worth a couple of btcs? Depends on order size, but most probably yes Smiley

Agreed. It certainly matters whether you are first in line or last. KnC will have a finite assembly and shipping capacity per day and early orders will get shipped earlier. Otherwise, why not just wait until KnC ships in September/October and order then?

I understand that 890 guys bought a fast and power efficient ASIC that will last longer then any other existing ASIC.
Even if you "lose" 1 month of mining, because you didn't had a low pre-order number, on a long term, you will still mine lots of bitcoin.
Also I received an email monday coming from KNC that said :

As far as we can see everyone who has paid within the first 7 days will be shipped in September/October.

I'm still unable to pay with PayPal. Sam has not responded to my emails. Seems like some of their payment scheduling plans backfired a tad. Hope it gets resolved.

Good luck Sam!
Pay with bitcoins.

A lesson I learnt from the bAsic fiasco is never pay with Bitcoins for pre-orders from yet to be proven providers (not saying that they will not deliver)

Cheers
