Karachi managed to make 186 runs which is quite good. This match is evenly poised but Lahore Qalandars has end the first innings on a high note and high confidence. The energy from the Lahore Qalandars bowlers is devastating however there was some lose fielding from them.

Taking into account the results from previous matches, 187 is not a big target. But we can't forget the fact that at one point Karachi were struggling at 37/3 after 5 overs (Babar Azam was the first wicket to fall). They managed 149 runs from the next 15 overs, which is impressive. Both Mohammad Nabi and Sharjeel Khan scored runs at a good pace. Now Lahore is in a difficult position and two of their important batsmen are out. Advantage seems to be with Karachi.

The situation is coming back to normal and now we are seeing many matches where some crowds are allowed to enter the stadium. I hope we will see this year IPL with crowd and pandemic free.

It may look like normal, but that is not the case. Daily death toll as per the government figures remain above 100, and the real death toll may be much higher. Even in countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, there was a brief lull before the second wave started. I am afraid that India is currently going through such a phase. On top of that, more lethal strains are being discovered around the world.
By the way which governments figure are you questioning? As per the figures published in India things are coming to normal. I do not know about pakistan as they do not have any mechanism to measure it. After PSL no one knows how many people will die or get infected from this virus, as they are still figuring how to get a vaccine?

The big match in PSL between two rivals Lahore and Karachi will begin in one hour from now. A must watch match if you are following PSL.  Smiley

Yup... this is going to be big. Karachi Kings vs Lahore Qalandars, which is essentially a battle between Babar Azam/Sharjeel Khan and Fakhar Zaman/Mohammad Hafeez. Babar has scored 176 runs in three matches so far, at an average of 88. Hafeez is slightly behind, with 166 runs from 3 matches. For the bowlers, getting these guys out quickly is the key to win the match for their team.
The bowlers of Karachi Kings are not in such good form. If Lahore Qalanders can take this opportunity then maybe they can win the match. Although the bowlers of Karachi Kings did not perform well, their batsmen are in great form. If Lahore bowlers can pick up the first 3 wickets of Karachi Kings quickly then I hope the outcome of the match will be in their favor.

Mohammad Ilyas is in for Karachi, while Zeeshan Ashraf is included for Lahore. Let's see how much impact these changes will have on the outcome. Personally I believe that the decision to drop Aamer Yamin was right. He was unimpressive in the tournament so far. So Karachi will be batting first, and everyone is waiting for fireworks from Babar Azam. On the other side, it is going to be Shaheen Shah Afridi & Co.

Lahore Qalandars have won the toss and as usual will field first. The winning of toss was important which Lahore Qalandars have won. Now they have to play good to win the match too. I am supporting Lahore Qalandars.  Smiley

I am not sure whether the situation is going back to normal, i still wear a mask going out and i do fear that i might get infected and i wish things get back to normal because i am tired of the situation. The IPL is set to begin in April and i hope we will be able to see audience in the stadium especially if they allow audience who have taken the vaccine.

Would there be full capacity crowd allowed in this year IPL or will there be 50% or less people will be allowed to enter the stadium compared to the total capacity of the stadium ? Covid not over yet so caution must be taken but it will be good to see crowd in the stadium. Without crowd, the T-20 matches seems boring.
Most chances they will go with 25% to 50% because right now no one want to go with any trouble currently PSL is doing good with just 20% and they are going to increase 50% in coming days so here in IPL 50% should be also very good for them as this give some good relief to all .

Yes, anything between 30-60% is a good crowd but in psl they are playing at only 2 cities while ipl will be played in about 5 cities and more travelling means more chances of exposure to the potential virus.

I do not think the virus is an issue for IPL players anymore as India has successfully created the vaccine and I am sure players have already got their doze. More venue means more revenue and after the pandemic BCCI does need revenue plus fans also want their teams to play in the home ground.

Are you sure about this ?  I never heard of India making the vaccine for covid-19. In our country, we are looking to import if from china or some other country. India is the number 2 country after the united states which had the most covid-19 cases. The risk of covid-19 still exists.

Lol! You did not know about Indian pharmacy. Another thing Indian is the second most populated country in the world and still the fatality rates in India is far much lesser than USA. Above all India is still number two in that list and do also check the recovery rate.

The recovery rate of Indians seems impressive but  i don't see the recovery rate of USA in the above diagram ?

It is boring to watch cricket in empty stadiums (as we found out during IPL 2020). But still I would prioritize public health over anything else. India (and most of the Asian nations) have fared well against the virus (when compared to the European and American nations). But I guess that has more to do with the natural immunity Indians have against various flu-viruses. This immunity may not work against new strains and we are already getting reports of a second wave in Maharashtra. At this point, I would argue against allowing spectators in the stadiums.

So what is the final situation, is everyone getting vaccinated and whether they will allow audience in the stadium anytime soon. It is impossible to vaccinate a billion population in a short period of time but still if they allow people that are vaccinated to come to the stadium then it will be great as it is getting boring to watch the matches in empty stadiums.

-Covishield (Oxford-AstraZeneca) manufactured by Serum Institute of India.
-Covaxin locally made vaccine by pharma company Bharat Biotech
https://vaccine.icmr.org.in/covid-19-vaccine

India is called pharmacy of the world and she was already manufacturing 60% of world vaccines alone before the covid . So its not a surprise that India already exported millions of free of cost-Grant based doses to many countries and still counting. Pakistan is getting some Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines soon under the WHO initiative "Covax". (AstraZeneca and India are partners on manufacturing drive).

Although vaccine jab going very slowly in India due to red tape, so far they only able to jab small amount of people (majority front line workers etc) approx 10-11 millions but i'm sure once private sector gets in the game then 200-300 million would get jab with in 2 months easily.

Risk does exits but details matters, majority of India heading toward normalcy. Covid variants could be dangerous but so far its looking okay. Majority of cases are from Mumbai and Kerala.

Covid-19 vaccine is being exported to 14 countries at present. It is planned to export to more than 40 countries as the demand for covid-19 vaccine keeps increasing. In the battle of vaccine supply India has defeated China through its supply to the world. The risk of covid-19 still exists and there are cases reported with covid-19 virus attack even after vaccination.

^^ It seems so but Mumbai and Kerala are still in bad shape. Not in favor of hosting any game in Mumbai at all, unless its empty stadium. BCCI do have handful of stadiums where they can host games with full capacity, Dharamshala is one of them.

Playoff and final would be good, hope semis and final gets full house in the Motera stadium, Ahmedabad.

^^^ Watched the Quetta Gladiators vs Peshawar Zalmi match yesterday, which was a high scoring one. Zalmi successfully chased the target of 199 set by the Gladiators. Turning point was the 19th over which was bowled by Dale Steyn, in which he conceded 21 runs including three sixes. The match was essentially over after Steyn's spell. Feels bad for him, as I regard him as one of the best test bowlers of 21st century. But unfortunately, T20 cricket never worked for him. Perhaps he needs to take a break from T20 and concentrate more on test cricket.
