I don't think Rohit Sharma is an ordinary captain. He is as experienced as a batsman, just as experienced as a captain. Although yesterday's match was won by Mumbai Indians only due to luck. The Kolkata players became overconfident so they lost the match.

Now Mumbai Indians have made it 10 out of the last 11 matches between the two sides. Rather than the good bowling (initially from Rahul Chahar, and then from Bumrah and Boult), the real reason why KKR lost the match was due to poor batting from their middle order. Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russel were scoring at less than one run a ball, when the required run rate was close to 10 runs per over. All the hard work done by the top order was wasted by the middle and lower order.

This is the expectation of most of the cricket fans. Mumbai Indians have got a big fan followers, KKR too has good support as it is celebrity owned. In such a way more people will be watching this games. The 152 target looked like an easy score, but KKR weren't able to reach it with three wickets left whereas Mumbai Indians lost all their wickets in the 20 overs.

I made the post because I have seen Mumbai Indians losing close matches, because they chose the wrong bowler for the final over. But this time, everything went well for Mumbai Indians. They came from a situation where everyone had written them off. When you have two of the most experienced IPL batsmen at crease (Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell) it is natural to assume that they would successfully chase the target without much wobble. But the Mumbai Indians bowlers had other plans. First it was Krunal Pandya who took the crucial wickets and then it was Bumrah and Boult who bowled the tight overs. And obviously the credit should go to Rohit Sharma as well, for the tactics today.

And I don't know what happened to Rohit Sharma. He was completely out of form.

Quinton de Kock is back, which is much expected. Also it's unexpected Chiris Lynn is out of the team though he played good innings in previous match. Harsh on Chris Lynn, he deserves place in MI team. Lynn is a far better T20 player than Quinton. De Kock got out early, let's see how thing goes.

MI was looking for the right and left combination which makes the bowlers to keep their line hard so they will get more loose balls but unfortunately De Kock went back to the dressing room too early and MI batsmen are really struggling apart from Surya Kumar Yadav. MI lost all their wickets and scored only 152 after the first innings which means their poor form continues again this year as well like every other year at the beginning of the season.

Eoin Morgan shows why captaincy plays an important role in the cricket and he actually made everything tougher for MI with his different tactics from opening the bowling with spinners from both ends.

Don't forget the match is happening at Chennai not at Mumbai so their strong lineup may struggle as well and on the other side KKR has perfect bowling unit to tackle MI batsmen if the pitch starts assist the spin bowling. But there is no objection in the strong lineup available in MI because they have perfect players for each of the position so even if one batsman plays well the team will reach 170+ in any pitch condition.

There is no doubt that Mumbai Indians are the strongest team in this edition of the IPL. The other teams are far behind. However the way in which they lost the first match to RCB was unexpected. I agree that they have the best players and the right team balance. But captaincy is not up to the mark. They lost the match against RCB due to poor tactics in the end overs. Rohit is one of the best players in the IPL. But he is not the best captain. On the other hand, KKR probably has the best captain in this tournament (Eoin Morgan).

Yes and i think they will make it 10 wins out of last 11 matches today between the two teams...the last match of Mumbai indians was close but they ended up on the loosing side..today i am backing mumbai indians to beat kolkata knight riders....
