IPL 2021 schedule has been released people. Am already excited for it. Odd thing is that there are no matches in Hyderabad due to Hyderabad Cricket Association issues.

https://mobile.twitter.com/IPL/status/1368535256014356488

I have no idea why MI are up against RCB in the opening match when it's supposed to be MI vs DC since they played against each other in the finals last year.
Another interesting fact about this IPL edition is there is no home ground for any teams, they are playing away all the matches due to the limited availability of pandemic free cities. How fans are going to react for this? Especially MI and CSK fans because those teams have more fan base than anyone else?

Hyderabad, Lucknow, Himachal and Mohali are also ignored by retarded BCCI (Ignoring Mohali was right decision tho). Guess they went for limited cities due to logistics although these cities could have host some ipl matches effectively. Don't know why they opted for Mumbai.

You cannot dilute the situation by saying it was bad luck, it was the management skills of the PCB in question when situation like these arises to conduct the tournament successful during a pandemic. These are not normal circumstances and we have seen multiple tournaments conducted successfully in multiple countries and we have not heard about the virus spreading among the players and PSL is the only tournament that was postponed because players are infected.

This is what happens when the players have total disregard for the cricket board. The first reported breach in the PSL was from Wahab Riaz and Darren Sammy. However, PCB treated these two with kid gloves. A very insignificant punishment of three day quarantine was given to the duo, but they just ignored it and Wahab went on to play a match for his team two days later. If he was suspended from the start itself, then the story would have been different.

The primary reason why Pakistan is not playing is due to the tension between both countries. Australia and Newzealand should have been part of this tournament but I am sure they avoided it because of the COVID19 situation. Still, it is a big tournament and we as cricket fans will enjoy it.
I watched the highlights and it is interesting to watch but before i thought since these are retired players the matches will be slow and boring but it was above my expectation and if the ICC or any private company wants they can even create a T20 World cup for legends and it can generate audience especially those who bet on these matches.

~Yeah the young Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar was playing against the old generation of Bangladesh Tongue.
Looking at the match it looked like a strong Indian line up against a old Bangladesh team and you went and placed a bet on that and lost the bet Tongue.

If you ever what to give example of a bad luck or want to see live example of 'What is bad luck' , then you can always refer to the PSL  Cry

I don't want to know what happened, why it happen , who's responsible etc, i will only call this a bad luck for the pakistan board, PSL players and the whole nation who were enjoying and partying via this tournament.

Pakistan and India are not playing due to political reason and Australia is not playing citing the pandemic.

It is not surprising. The government even denied permission for the national team to visit South Africa. A tournament involving the retired players must be much lower in terms of priority. Australia has so far done a great job in containing the COVID 19 pandemic. They don't want to take any risk at this point, which would put their population in danger. The same can be said about New Zealand as well.

You put the bet on India or Bangladesh ? I think you have lost the bet if you placed bet on bangladesh.
India won this match pretty easily as both legends Virender Sehwag  and Sachin Tendulkar remain not out and easily chase this target of 109.
It was a silly mistake from my part as i was not able to watch the match but just the scoreboard and by looking at the start Bangladesh got i placed a bet on them to score over 114 run which i thought was not a big deal as they were cruising at over 7 runs per over without loosing a wicket when they crossed 50 runs and then all of a sudden they started loosing wickets.

~
If you are putting bets on old players and expect them to score over 114 it does have its risk and i saw the scoreboard and they started well but then they fell short and India cruised to victory without losing a wicket and their old master player Virender Sehwag demolished the Bangladesh bowlers and Sachin Tendulkar played a second fiddle and if you could place a bet on India you could have won  Tongue.

A low scoring final match between OZ vs NZ , NZ won quite easily in the end by 7 wickets. Chasing just 143 runs to win both openers Guptill and Conway batted well and gave a century opening partnership which just sealed the match in their favour. last match was also a decider as 5 match series was 2- 2 and by winning the match BZ win the series.

New Zealand played really well, and they made use of the home advantage. Kyle Jamieson seems to have gone out of form as soon as he was purchased by the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He was dropped for the 5th match and replaced with Mark Chapman. Australian batsmen once again failed against the spinners and only Aaron Finch and Matthew Wade could make 30 plus scores. And even Finch was unimpressive, scoring his 36 from 32 balls.

Apart from politics, health is more important for us. In any case we would have refused to play this series in india just like AUS/NZ did because playing in india is not safe because of worse covid-19 situation there. It would have been better if this tournament was played in some other venue UAE with all the nations agreeing to it.

That is not a good excuse. The situation in India is not bad compared to the other countries. Yesterday there were 19,000 cases in India and 98 new deaths. Pakistan reported 1700 new cases and 38 new deaths. Now taking in to account the fact that population in Pakistan is only around 1/7th that of India, you can see that the situation there is not good. Even the PSL had to be postponed as a result of positive results.

That said, I am not in favor of bringing in politics in to sports. The idea to ban Pakistani players from IPL is not fair. IPL is more like a global tournament now, and the ICC has given a separate two-month slot in the international cricket calendar so that BCCI can schedule the tournament. Cricketers from all around the world are taking part, and I don't think that banning players from a particular country (for reasons other than cricket) makes any sense.

The tension between india and pakistan could be the reason of pakistan not playing this series as this is being played in india. However, the point is whether pakistan refused to play this tournament or they were not invited at all ? I wished both Australians and pakistan were part of this tournament as then it could be a mini world cup for the legends.

With players from Pakistan banned from leagues such as IPL, I don't think that it will be any different for the Road Safety World Series. All the matches will be played in India, so getting visa for the Pakistani players will also be difficult. Ideally sports should be kept separate from politics, but in South Asia that is not always possible. Even the fans treat cricket matches between India and Pakistan as some sort of mini-war.

Don't know about Pakistan, but Australia Legends were initially planning to take part in the tournament and Brett Lee was named as the captain. But they withdrew from the tournament due to COVID 19 restrictions (the government refused to permit the team travelling to India). They should add Pakistan and Zimbabwe to the tournament, along with New Zealand.

Also, it would be a good idea to add a combined associate side, with players such as Steve Tikolo, Maurice Odumbe, Thomas Odoyo, Klaas-Jan van Noortwijk, Bastiaan Zuiderent, John Blain, Gavin Hamilton, Sultan Zarawani, John Davison, David Hemp, JB Burger, Rudi van Vuuren, Ed Joyce, Trent Johnston, Freddie Klokker.etc.

What is this legends T20 tournament, Bangladesh and India legends playing and team has all the legendary players, anyone watching the game and how to watch the match. The odds were attractive in some of the bets and i made a bet to see how it will go on the first innings total of 114 runs and the odds were pretty decent and luckily Bangladesh is batting well and i am sure the bet will win easily Grin.

These legend's T20 league is good to keep every leading players active. Almost six countries have got their legends team. Most of the time, similar leagues are much popular within India. With the home ground advantage, India will surely have better advantage in Winning the match.

I disagree. There was hardly any coverage in the media, and none of my friends were aware of this tournament until I told them about it. Players such as Yuvraj Singh, Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag are legends. But once they retired from international cricket, their popularity also vanished. Only a few hardcore fans now watch their matches. And this is applicable for everyone. If Virat Kohli stops playing for India, then his fan base will also vanish in a couple of years.

That was really surprising, because we are not seeing Sehwag in the cricket field that often. Still he managed to overshadow Sachin Tendulkar!!! Sehwag is 42 years old, but despite that he looked extremely fit. Khaled Mahmud used to be one of the heroes for Bangladesh in the 90s. He ended up conceding 32 runs from his 2 overs. Also, I need to mention Pragyan Ojha and Yuvraj Singh, who bowled really well.
