In the end of DC's innings, they have scored 157 runs. I think DC is in safe zone now. They lost early wickets, they lost Stoinis, Dhawan and Rahane in 4 overs. I don't think anyone thought that Delhi capital would be able to target so many runs. Thanks to Lyre and Pant. Their great partnership has brought such a large collection to DC.

There are many good batsmen in the MI's squad. Such as de kock, Rohit Sharma, Pollard and Pandya. They all played terribly well in the t20 format. Let's see who wins the title this time.  Cool

Though Mumbai bowlers take early wickets in the powerplay and put Delhi on pressure but what an innings played by Iyer & Pant, They gave Delhi a fighting score. Mumbai have to chase 157 runs to secure their 5th title.
Mumbai played 4 time IPL finals and won each of the finals .Can Delhi break their streak this time ,Let's see. My bet is on Mumbai.

MI hasn't back in the match yet.. Hetmyre is still at the crease. He is one of the best finisher in t20 format. If S. lyre and Hetmyre are at the crease till 20 overs, DC will be able to give a much bigger target to MI.
Hetmeyer lost his wicket when trying to hit but still they have got Shreyas in the crease two over remaining so I feel anything over 170 will be a good total to give a fight back because they have got the bowling to defend such kind of total and also this is a big match so definitely there will be an extra pressure on the team who are chasing due to score board ticking.

Mi's bowlers are bowling just great. DC has already lost 3 wickets for only 22 runs. DC lost 3 wickets in 3.4 overs. Stoinis, Rahane and the great Shikhar Dhawna are gone. At the end of 4 overs, DC lost 3 wickets and managed to score only 25 runs. We all are watching the match to see a competitive final match. But I'm disappointed, DC are playing just worse! Such bad batting is never expected in the final match.
DC is doing some good recovery for this final and right now Iyer and Pant on both have good chance for long and very important inning specially Pant need this opportunity to cashout and have some good worth for his good future and I am expecting this man can do some big for today's big night lets see what happen in next few overs for DC.
End of 11 overs. DC is now fairly back in the truck. lyre and Pant are having a very good partnership. At the end of 12 overs they were able to score 95 runs. Now their current run rate is 7.81. In a very good position. If they don't lose any more wickets in the next 5 overs, they will be able to give mi a big target.
I was also feeling like this because today Pant is doing very good job but sadly just  Coulter-Nile take wicket of Pant and now MI back in match because if he is going to stay some more then surely they are going to face some good target but right time ane good wicket bring them back in this match very quickly.

I understand that everyone is watching the IPL match today but lets not forget that Pakistan has beaten Zimbabwe in the last T20 and have white wash the T20 series by 3-0. Finally something to cheer up for the young Pakistani team.  Again Zimbabwe were only able to make 129 runs and it was very easy for the Pakistani batsmen to chase it without any sort of pressure.

This is probably the most one sided IPL league and finals. Delhi Capitals are humiliated on every of their game with Mumbai and this one too is going towards a humiliating loss for them. There were no team stable enough to challenge Mumbai Indians and they were the champions from the first day. Though Iyer and Pant are trying to settle, it would be hard for them to create a defendable target.

The start is not good for DC lost first wicket very quickly Stionis gone on first ball of match and its really not good signal for them now they need some good attention from Shakhar if they want some good target on board and win today's final because MI batting is very strong and less then 200 is achieveabel for them.

Edit: Rahane also gone now its more trouble for them 16/2
The worst start Delhi Capitals could have imagined in a final, they already lost their third wicket Stoinis, Dhawan and Rahane back in the dugout and now they need to play careful to put a score on the board and with Mumbai Indians having a good dept in their batting line up it will be difficult for Delhi Capitals to stop them if they are not giving a challenging total for the bowlers.

I am going with Mumbai Indians winning this years IPL.

DC has won the toss. The game will be very interesting today as the team is unchanged for DC. Previously the openers blasted the SRH. If MI are able to score more than 180 then we can see a interesting match here.

It's Delhi Capitals who choose to bat first. They'd be the one setting the target and defending it. Being the underdog here, I don't think that was an impressive option to chose in the finals. Though their are many factors including climate and time to consider, still I don't think they'll have a large effect on T20 matches. In order to challenge Mumbai Indians, they need to try getting a 200+.

On top of that Iyer's captaincy is also not looking great. He is unable to motivate the team and to keep the morale high. Maybe they need a new captain for the final match.
This is the first time DC qualifying in the Finals so i think we should give him some credits.

DC performed exceptionally well during the first half of this edition and that is the reason why they are in the final. That said, I would still give the credit to Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje for this achievement. It was their high-quality depth bowling, which enabled DC to win so many matches. I would say that the captaincy made hardly any difference during this phase.
You are right. Their bowlers will be the main contributors to DC's wins. Because if Shikhar Dhawan doesn't play well, their other batsmen can't perform better. I think even today if Shikhar Dhawna doesn't play a big innings then DC won't win the match.

The stonis is also playing great from the previous match. The match between SRH and DC was a do or die one and they have performed well. I believe today also they will blast.

they experimented with the Stonis which paid off greatly in the last match. Heard that Stonis used to bat on Top order in BBL so they should go with him. Their main concern should be skipper Iyer, he's really struggling with his timing for quite some now.
I was wondering why Marcus Stoinis was not given the opening slot considering he is a really successful explosive opener for Melbourne Stars and he was in top form this year in BBL setting the tournament highest score and i was thinking what the DC management were thinking by not giving him the opening slot.

~Edited out~
I wasn't aware of this until commentators brought this up. Ricky Ponting is head coach of DC, he could have pushed him earlier as he knows better about BBL but Pritvi Shaw was in the team and everyone's first choice, somehow failure of Shaw pushed them to try Stonis back on his fav position.

Here also this could happen. I believe Delhi Capitals wins the league this time.
Even i would like to see Delhi Capitals to win this season as they never won it before while Mumbai won multiple times and the last two tournament wins in 2017 and 2019 by 1 run which says everything about their bowlers, Mitchell Johnson bowled the last over in 2017 where he picked 3 wickets while Malinga bowled the last over in 2019 and picked 2 wickets and this time around if Mumbai wins it depends upon how Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult bowls.

Bumrah is the best bowler in T20 format right now. But the same can't be said about Boult. He has taken a lot of wickets in this edition of the IPL, but he leaked a lot of runs during crucial situations. Boult is one of those bowlers who are more suited to the test format. The biggest vulnerability for MI remains their spin department. If DC can make use of this vulnerability, then they can become the champions for the first time.

Delhi might've got nervousness of playing against Mumbai Indians on the finals. Same time Mumbai Indians will be having the nervousness, because every match against Delhi Capitals is being won by them. Surely this will make them have more confidence. Over confidence in cricket match has resulted in failure on most matches. Here also this could happen. I believe Delhi Capitals wins the league this time.

Well.. I would never accuse Mumbai Indians of being overconfident. They have taken their opponents seriously and also they never relaxed their hold on the situation even when they were certain about their victory. This can be said about some of the other teams, such as the King's XI Punjab and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. These teams lost a number of matches as a result of their overconfidence.

Hopefully, MI will win this year IPL DC is no match for them.

Nothing is certain. We had so many upsets in this edition of the IPL and I won't be surprised if we have another one tomorrow. Don't forget the fact that MI themselves got steam rolled at least once during this tournament (SRH defeated them by 10 wickets on 3rd November). DC looks completely out of sorts, but they have some really good players. Anything can happen.

The exciting thing about T20 is an lucky day for a single player could change the fate of the game. But undoubtedly, Mumbai Indians is a much more balanced team than Delhi Capitals. Mumbai has been to finals a good number of times and won and lost under pressure. It would be the first finals for Delhi Capitals and the nervousness would be greater on that side added they are the team entering finals with playoff after losing to MI.

If DC can play the same game they played against SRH they will have a chance against MI, Marcus Stoinis could be the trump card and if he gets going against the MI opening bowlers then they will have a chance.
DC had issues with their opening partnership and giving Marcus Stoinis the opportunity was the best thing to happen for a struggling team and when they had runs on the board their bowlers were able to defend that but against MI it is a really different ball game, Rohit Sharma is struggling but they have some good middle order players with outstanding strike rate and i think toss will be a major factor.

For Delhi's perspective, if we forget about Sikhar then Delhi's top order is in bad form as well, they experimented with the Stonis which paid off greatly in the last match. Heard that Stonis used to bat on Top order in BBL so they should go with him. Their main concern should be skipper Iyer, he's really struggling with his timing for quite some now. Hetmeyer doing okay and Pant is big disappointment this year. Rahane batting down the order seems useless to me, he can only perform in Top order. Prithvi's bad form really hurting them.

I feel bad about Delhi. Earlier Shikhar Dhawan was not in form, and the other batsmen were scoring runs (especially Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant). Now Iyer and Pant are going through a very rough patch. On top of that Iyer's captaincy is also not looking great. He is unable to motivate the team and to keep the morale high. Maybe they need a new captain for the final match.
