Ideally South Africa should have scored 220-230. But they lost too many wickets towards the end and the middle and lower order didn't clicked today. Janneman Malan and Aiden Markram gave them such an excellent start and it was followed by another quick cameo from George Linde. At one point, they were 141/1 after 13 overs. But their bowlers failed big time today. Beuran Hendricks went for 55 runs from his four overs.

South Africa is striking at 10 per over and if they are able to maintain that and not loose much wickets they can score above 200 runs and this exactly the reason we cannot trust Pakistan all the time when placing a bet as they will surprise you and they too have the batting dept to chase the score as South Africa is also not having their best bowlers.

Looks as if South Africa will easily make a total of more than 200. Won't be surprised if they end up with 220-230. However both the openers are back in the pavillion now (Janneman Malan and Aiden Markram). And now Heinrich Klaasen and George Linde are also gone. Rassie van der Dussen is still there and if South Africa want to cross the 200 mark, then he needs to take the responsibility. They have depth in their batting, so I would say that 200 plus is very much achievable.

Now Mumbai Indians have made it 10 out of the last 11 matches between the two sides. Rather than the good bowling (initially from Rahul Chahar, and then from Bumrah and Boult), the real reason why KKR lost the match was due to poor batting from their middle order. Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russel were scoring at less than one run a ball, when the required run rate was close to 10 runs per over. All the hard work done by the top order was wasted by the middle and lower order.

This is the expectation of most of the cricket fans. Mumbai Indians have got a big fan followers, KKR too has good support as it is celebrity owned. In such a way more people will be watching this games. The 152 target looked like an easy score, but KKR weren't able to reach it with three wickets left whereas Mumbai Indians lost all their wickets in the 20 overs.

I made the post because I have seen Mumbai Indians losing close matches, because they chose the wrong bowler for the final over. But this time, everything went well for Mumbai Indians. They came from a situation where everyone had written them off. When you have two of the most experienced IPL batsmen at crease (Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell) it is natural to assume that they would successfully chase the target without much wobble. But the Mumbai Indians bowlers had other plans. First it was Krunal Pandya who took the crucial wickets and then it was Bumrah and Boult who bowled the tight overs. And obviously the credit should go to Rohit Sharma as well, for the tactics today.

That is a good prediction Kolkata Knight Riders bowled well and they were able to restrict Mumbai Indians for 152 runs and it is a good opportunity for Kolkata Knight Riders to win the match but Mumbai Indians have a really good bowling line up and i am expecting a good fight back from them till the end. The last 5 overs were a disaster for Mumbai Indians as they lost 7 wickets for 38 runs and Andre Russell put the dent by picking 5 wickets.

The way that the Mumbai Indians batted in the end was just pathetic. At one point, they were 115/3 (15 overs). In the next 5 overs they lost 7 wickets and could add only 37 runs. And this is the performance from a team which is widely regarded as having the strongest middle and lower order (Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard.etc). And I don't know what happened to Rohit Sharma. He was completely out of form.
