Sydney Thunder won by 129 runs.Very dominating victory by Sydney over Melbourne. Tanveer Sangha bowled really well and picked up 4 wickets for 14.
An extraordinary win. Every player in the Sydney Thunder has contributed to the team's victory. Everyone expects such a great innings on the T20 formet. Melnourne Renegades' batting has been a disaster. I hope they will play better in the next match.

I didn't know about this inside politics within the indian team but if it is true then it will not be good for the indian team. Good teams are strong from inside and therefore they are able to compete with the other teams. If you keep on involving in the issues within the team, then the team cannot produce good results.
Politics are everywhere especially in the sports field, this is not only happening in Indian cricket board the same issue ruined the South Africa and Pakistan cricket teams in the international standards but still India managed to come up with good players but not every talented player is getting their opportunity.

But we never heard of any politics in Australian cricket board or in England cricket board because they have a proper system where players are selected on their performances only and there are no favors for anyone. Those boards who are unable to overcome these politics, their team will go down in performance.
Once team starting losing badly or set new low standard, only after that political drama and scrutiny pops up. No team or sport is immune to this.

10 Teams IPL is about to come in 2022 season.

Surely that's the case, even in the bad times of England and Australia, the boards and players were accused of favoring and ignoring players. Even there, some top players retired with dissatisfaction. On the concern of national teams, with a lot of regional and international exposure, it's not hard to predict which of the players would make it into the team and who won't.

Dinesh Karthik was in the team for a long time and he is in and out of the team because of Dhoni cementing his place and Rishabh Pant came into the team recently on back of some good innings in the junior tournaments. Yuzvendra Chahal also debuted in recent times as they replaced Ashwin and Jadeja combination with another left arm spinner.

Why can't India follow the system in England and Australia, where the coach/captain doesn't have the monopoly in team selection? As long as the selected players perform consistently, no one is going to complain. The issue arises when players such as Siraj gets selected ahead of the other well deserving players and they are unable to perform. Anyway, two days to go for the second test match and let's see how the Indian team perform.

At least the BCCI is nominally independent, while the boards in South Africa, Sri Lanka.etc are being run by government proxies. Saurav Ganguly (BCCI president) is an ex-India national team captain, while most of the other cricket boards are being headed by people with hardly any connection with cricket. Anyway, what is the point when the ICC chairman himself doesn't have any cricketing connection.

Dinesh Karthik is not in the team for this Australian tour and he is a talented player and if you look like that then KL Rahul is another talented player who is a wicket keeper as well and he performed well in the IPL. The problem with Rishabh Pant is that he dropped catches as a wicket keeper in the past series and he should improve his wicket keeping skills. Pant played well in the warm up match but i doubt he could replicate that kind of innings in the international level.

Why there is even a discussion on Dinesh Karthik? His performance during the IPL 2020 was pathetic, and he managed just one half century from more than a dozen matches. And he hasn't played any first-class matches for almost a year now. If BCCI is looking for a wicket keeper batsman, then the future lies with players such as Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan, and not with oldies such as Dinesh Karthik and Saha.

Dinesh Karthik could be in the Indian team for a few more years. Rishabh Pant is young now. Now Dinesh Karthik is in form, I think it would be wise to use him properly at this moment. He is a good finisher. He can take the helm of the team if necessary like Dhoni. At this moment, Rishabh Pant will be able to better adapt to the Indian team

To me Dhoni and Kohli relationship looks like Guru-chela instead of any sort of rivalry. Kohli-Rohit rivalry seems more logical tho.

These rivalries popped up after the IPL came in to existence. Before the IPL, there were no reports of senior players forming separate camps within the national team. After IPL was started, some of the senior players started showing more loyalty to their IPL franchise rather than the national team, and the franchise owners started behaving as if they are more powerful than the BCCI president. The despicable behavior by N Srinivasan, when Raina decided to travel back to India as a result of family emergency is a perfect example.
Arey camps and rivalry were always there sir ji, even in the old days. Kapil-Gavaskar was famous one. Dhoni-Yuvraj-Sehwag was another one. Its just that nowadays we get to hear more about it due to social media.

It's not like rivalry. Both Dhoni and Kohli had different preferences for the national team selection. Dhoni would prefer players such as Kedar Jadhav and Dinesh Karthik, who play for CSK or India Cements. On the other hand, Kohli is said to have a preference for RCB/Delhi players, such as Rishabh Pant and Yuzvendra Chahal. Also, both of them support opposing camps in the BCCI. Dhoni is considered as a N Srinivasan loyalist, while Kohli supports the other side.

For now more focus will be on Rishabh Pant as he is just 23 and Dinesh Karthik is already 35 so may play for another couple of years. But in last few years Dinesh Karthik has being a good finisher and have ability to maintain calm under pressure and can hit six on last balls of innings while chasing the score which not everybody can do it. Rishabh has a long way to go and if he can prove consistency and gather behind the wickets cleanly, he will have more often his place fixed in the team squad.

I had a bet on Pakistan and they gave me a scare when they lost 4 quick wicket at the final phase, was worried about another choke up moment but Iftikhar Ahmed finished the job.
I always avoid betting in a match when Pakistan is involved as you never know when they will play as a top team and in the past whenever i placed a bet against them i lost my bet Grin.

This is true and one of the reasons for the poor performance of the sub-continental teams is the nepotism and bias in selection. Even Indian team is not free from this. Earlier, there were two camps within the national team - each led by Dhoni and Kohli respectively. Now the divisions are not that visible, but there are accusations that some of the players are being favored for selection.
Hearing for the first time that Dhoni and Kohli had a rivalry within the team.
I don't bet on them much either but that day was trying to bet on BBL but end up betting on Pakistan.

Looking at World test championship point of view, i hope they draw 1 game with their unpredictable behavior or may be rain lol? so that they could split the points.  Grin

This is one of the disadvantages with the current WTC setup. Why should the teams split points equally? That will give advantage for the weaker team, in case there is rain interruption. Let's take a case where Sri Lanka is playing in a test match against India. If the match ends up as a draw (due to rain interruption), then both the teams are going to share points equally. Now this is disadvantageous for India, and advantageous for Sri Lanka.

IMO, drawn matches should not be considered in the points table.
