It is good for the Indian board to include Pakistani players in IPL because it will create more interest in the tournament and the direct benefit will go to the Indians but both countries political conditions doesn't allow this.
In my personal opinion i would like to separate sports and politics but that is not the way things work around here which is sad and i do not think there is restriction for any other sports and as long as cricket is used as a political tool you cannot expect India and Pakistan playing each other in a bilateral series nor allowing Pakistan players in the IPL especially when the present government is ruling.

I don't see any clear vision of when can we be able to see IPL.
Three months lock down and the number of patients touches 10k per day and the government has no idea where it will end and they cannot shut everything down, they are opening up the market which is funny it is hard to imagine what the future holds financially.

When you have bigger shit at hands do we really care about the IPL Wink.

@UmerIdrees its good for many ways but Indian government never allow this because its giving good benefits to Pakistan and Pakistani cricketers and they never allow any thing like this so its out of question they will allow Pakistani players in near future right now main issue is they are going to play IPL or going to use its just as political game.

Currently covid-19 will not allow any tournament to take place and even other foreign players who used to come to India to play IPL in previous years and get monetary benefits., will not enjoy such pleasure this year. I don't see any clear vision of when can we be able to see IPL.

While ICC is deciding whether to postpone T20 Worldcup next year, BCCI has decided to host IPL this year. Looks like Ganguly doesn't care about ICC's decision anymore Tongue

If IPL face cancellation then BBCI is going to lose approx $500 Millions in one go... so clearly they are in deep mess in current situation and desperately want to organize event, let's see if other boards release their players for IPL.
I think the other boards will probably agree. Right now most of the boards has cut short the pay of the players, IPL is a cash cow for the players so eventually they will presurize the Boards for IPL. If IPL is hosted even Bravo will take part in it on behalf of CSK  Tongue
Yesterday i was reading live feed of ICC meeting (posted in the last page). for some reason they put up Ian chappell interview, he was basically saying that every board need to stand up against the BCCI. No matter if World cup gets cancel or not, don't send players for IPL and play domestic cricket only..

And do you think these boards can control players who get paid more than what they might earn from ICC tournaments?

Pakistani players are crying every day and West Indians have revolted against there boards. Players are performing just to get selected in IPL.

Everyone here thinks that BCCI is ruling the cricket, It is true as they pay the most to players.
Here you are wrong Pakistani players not crying for IPL as now they already have some good things and expecting more to come just West Indian players have issues with Board and they will have some interest and many other players will also not going to join against their own boards wishes as they know this is going to be not good for them.

This is going to be a historic blunder from the part of the BCCI. The pandemic in India is yet to peak, and with every passing day there is an increase in the new infections. Three of the metro cities (Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata) are severely affected and the other cities are not faring that well either.
I agree. India is the 5th worst hit country currently and are set to overtake UK for the 4th position in the near future. Hosting any major tournament like the IPL will only cause more chaos in the future. Saving lives should be prioritized  over financial losses.

Gutsy to try and take on the corrupt BCCI, but this isn't the right time to think about these things. All boards need to focus on uniting their efforts to battle COVID.

The BCCI is working on all possible options to ensure that we are able to stage the IPL this year, even if it means playing the tournament in empty stadiums.

While Mumbai is the most corona affected region in India,  Mumbai Indians have decided to start their training from Today under strict guidelines  Lips sealed

They can make preparations only if the situation comes under control, and in my opinion it may take at least four more months.

This is very important for Gangualy as this can turn his fortune if he done this all successfully then surely he is going to be hero for them otherwise this can happen as disaster for his future and career because now Corona is doing very badly in India and its not easy for any one handle this all even many players can announce they will stay away from this even money is big factor.

^^^ They should have taken a decision today. Australia has been reporting very low number of new cases for more than two months now. The situation there is not going to get any better than this. Either they should postpone the tournament or go ahead with it. There is no logic in keeping the fate of the T20 World Cup in a state of suspended animation.

ICC want to have the cautious approach and want to re-examine the situation as it is said that. Etc wave could hit back in June and July in some counties and this could rise a huge toll of cases. So in that way I’d they announce anything now and later on again have to cancel the plan so better to take the time and do the right thing and announce later on .

The decision from the ICC is to continue with the tournament as planned and they will change if there is another obstacle as you cannot expect what the situation will be a few months from now, we never anticipated the entire world shutting down four months ago and now things are opening up but that cannot be said we will be safe and everything will be the same in the next 4 to 5 months from now. Things were unpredictable earlier and if there is no other crazy wave of virus then we will see the tournament taking place as planned.

ICC didn't come in any conclusion anyway, announcement for WC is postponed untill next month.
This is not surprising considering the rising cases across the world. The IPL and the T-20 World Cup will most likely be postponed to 2021 unless there is a drastic improvement in the COVID situation.

The problem is not Australia. The problem is foreign players entering their country. I don't blame them for being careful. One foreign player could be asymptomatic and could potentially cause a big blow to their virus containment efforts.

That is the issue right now as the Australian Government is very careful when it comes to re-opening borders. Right now the state borders here are still closed and for any one coming from international have to quarantine for 2 weeks. It will be a big task however it can be done if the Australian Government allows for the T20 world cup to go ahead. The local football league is playing its first game tonight with no crowd still but its a start in the right direction and could be good for the T20 world cup.

Finally the long wait is over. The ICC is out with the verdict. The stakeholders have decided that a call will on the T20 World Cup will only be taken a month later after assessing the situation, according to reports.

So according to the ICC release,  The International Cricket Council (ICC) Board today agreed to continue exploring a number of contingency plans regarding the future of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2020 and the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2021 until next month whilst planning for delivery of the events in the scheduled window is ongoing.

The Board expressed its desire to continue to assess and evaluate the rapidly changing public health situation caused by COVID-19 working with key stakeholders including governments to  explore how the events can be staged to protect the health and safety of everyone involved.  This contingency planning process will evaluate health and safety, cricket, partner and host considerations ensuring any decision taken is in the best interests of the sport, its Members and fans.

I have no clue about his wrongdoings or behavior, so you might be right or wrong? can't say for surety, unless you are pointing at any article etc.

Well, they did shared the hosting couple of times so it shouldn't be tough but ofcourse its all depends on the respective Gov. For the right reasons its their own choice if they are opening the borders for foreign players or not.

As of now, New Zealand is closed for international travelers. I don't think that they will make an exception, just for the world cup. If it was a handful of teams, then there was a chance. But the world cup involves a total of 16 teams and close to 300 players and other staff. So it is a bit complex. That said, Australia is not faring that bad. They are having only around 5-10 new cases per day.
