Enjoying the WPL but also witnessing a big gap in Indian and overseas talent (barring few). The enormous gap in fielding when sprinting or taking a catch, it also connected with running between the wickets.

On bowling way too bad when it comes to line n length. When it comes to batting Oh boy! there are some stark differences there when you look at SR. Hope these local girls are taking notes.
I noticed the same. I don't think any Indian scored more than 60 runs so far while overseas players like Talia scored 90 not out which says a lot. The primary reason is because of the difference in their builds.

There are many strong, athletic overseas ladies in every team and many of them have performed well so far.
Women's cricket has less opportunities and is not encouraged. As a result, it is difficult to find good cricketers. Foreign players added to a team may have strong players. But I am optimistic that India women's cricket will also gradually become stronger. Moreover, India is a populous country where it is possible to find strong and good players. Since women's cricket has started, the Indian team will produce better cricketers in the future. The way men's cricket is currently leading the world. I think women's cricket will also see a similar picture if it expands.
Women's Indian Premier League (WIPL) is an excellent opportunity for players to showcase their abilities. Team collaboration between foreign players can also enhance player's tactics, resulting in a better performance overall. Following the participation of this domestic competition allows cricketers from all over the globe to be added to a team, which is crucial for the growth of the women's cricket. WIPL authorities should be thank of their continuous efforts to support the growth of women's cricket. Although it won't happen overnight, but gradually women's cricket will also be leading the world like men's.

Asian women teams still don't have the level of perfection and game like Australia,  England as these teams have played plenty of leagues and they are way stronger than Indians or any other team.
But with time they'll definitely improve.

The gap is not between Indian and overseas players, but between capped and uncapped players. Overseas players in general have performed well till now, as most of them have prior experience in WBBL and W100. Fielding needs a lot of improvement and I don't think that we will witness a very large change within the next 1-2 seasons. It would have been a good idea to include 5 overseas players in the XI. But then the BCCI put additional rider that one of the players should be from associate nation. Given the aversion towards associate players from the IPL franchises, only one of them have used this loophole to increase the overseas quota to 5 (Delhi Capitals Women, who brought in Tara Norris).
Actually, some of the uncapped players like Shreyanka Patil (RCB), Kanika Ahuja (RCB) and Saika Ishaque (MI) did quite well with the bat and ball (there are a couple of more) and on the other hand capped players like Deepti is disappointing with the bat so far. Another name is Renuka Singh, i consider her a fine bowler but she's going in a different direction.

Overall batting performance is not up to the mark (Capped players) if we leave Mandana, Shaifali, Jemimah and Harman. Richa Ghosh has a bright future and clean hitter of the ball so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and a long rope.

@Haunebu pointed out an important aspect. You countered his point with Men's team example. I'd say In professional sports, being athletic is also very important. It's not related to skill at all but endurance, it reflects clearly when you are chasing the ball or running between the wickets, these are important parts as well.

Being a skilled batter or bowler is a necessity but at the same time, if you are athletic on the field, it enhances your performance and 2-3 seconds difference can make a big impact in crunch moments like you can save runs, steal extra singles, can take blinder catch etc and if you are strong then can hit big too with the bat. We do have a fine example of Jemimah Rodrigues. She's not big so can't hit sixes much (although she's a skilled batter) but when she's on the outfield or running between the wickets she looks gorgeous.

If not having athletic build is a disadvantage, then how come the Indian men are dominating international cricket for the last one decade? IMO, the main reason is experience. Overseas players are mostly from Australia and England, and they spend most of their time playing franchise T20 cricket. On the other hand, Indian women don't play as much cricket as these overseas players. And when they do, it is mostly ODI format. Also, Indian domestic cricket for women is mostly focused on the ODI format.

It was a good game. I thought Women's cricket doesn't make big viewers have interest in watching the matches. Looking upon the performance from the women's team regularly the crowd and the viewers watching the matches have increased. This is really an important thing and an indication that WPL is growing. As of now Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals were the strongest teams. Much expected team from Chennai, but things didn't happen. Maybe in the upcoming seasons more teams can be seen. In the match between Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz it was big win for Delhi Capitals. Up Warriorz too tried the best and Tahlia McGrath missed her century scoring 90* runs. Each and every ball is important and every team needs to be prepared to face it.

Mandana was bought at a very high price due to her agressive batting ability in T20 format but it seems her performance in the WPL has been below average. I understand once in a while batters struggle to get into form but losing the form in a tournament that pays you better than your cricket board doesn't looks good in the long run. Considering RCB team management for both men & women I don't think it will affect her that much but it might affect her standing in the national team.

Congratulations Haley Matthews on becoming the first orange cap holder in Women Premier League. 47 runs in just 31 balls against GGT and then yesterday she scored 77 runs in just 38 balls. She also took 3 wickets & gave 28 runs. What a tournament this has been for her.

Hayley had an absolutely unbelievable inning in that match (77 from 38 balls). Her strike rate was more than 200. If she continues to perform like this she is going to be a big container for the best player of the tournament. She is also going to take her team a long way in the tournament.

This tournament has been very batting-friendly so far. I am expecting a good performance from Hayley in the future as well. The first match of Mumbai Indians was one sided. But the second match was not that one sided, it was easy. However, I will say Hayley made it easy for the team.

I am supporting Mumbai Indians Women in the first edition of Womens Premier League 2023. I am impressed with the kind of performance they showed on the first day. I believe their team is stronger than any other team in this session. Their bowling action is promising, on the other hand, their batting is also excellent. Yesterday they had another match where they roared even more. Chasing 155 runs in 14 overs for just 1 wicket. With this kind of performance, no one can reach the top except Mumbai Indians Women in this tournament.
First season mostly players are having not good experience of this level game and things are completely out of the control for many players which is surely interesting just because of this I am not favoring any team as I have good feeling about this event and all teams which are going to participate and having good performance with in next few years things could be clear, and we can predict who is good and who can improve right now just few teams which having quality players are going to enjoy and many will be on good way for their career because this is just started for the women's new era in cricket here in world's most populated cricketing country who is already holding world's biggest cricketing event IPL.

Yeah, it gives an outlook as they're strong. With the play the team levels with the RCB men's team. Whether it is their luck or something had gone wrong. In today's match it is a good target, but the bowling is not enough for a team like Mumbai Indians who always want to end the match at the earliest. Based on the performance from Mumbai Indians women team it looks like they've secured a position for the finals.

Just 4 matches have been completed and it is too early to predict who will qualify for the semi-finals. As things stand, Mumbai Indians have won all of their matches and are having 4 points. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants on the other hand have lost all of their matches. During the first edition of the IPL (2008), it was underdogs Rajasthan Royals who lifted the trophy. Back then, three of the most favored teams - Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders failed to enter the knockout phase. But this time, things seems to be different. Mumbai has a good chance to lift the trophy.
As per looking at current matches, I guess the more stronger of the women's team will win this cup and it could be either Mumbai Indians women or Dehli Capital women's.

After the auction, I thought RCBw had a strong squad but so far they are not doing anything with bat and ball. Like I said earlier following RCBm's blueprint.
RCB men and women winning the trophy would probably send the Bangalore people into a frenzy.
I feel for RCB's fans but have to agree that they are staunch followers of their franchise. No matter if their team or favorite player is humiliated on the field or not, win or not.

They will back their team and come again in numbers just to watch them play so these loyal fans deserve some happiness.

@JSRAW each new year we felt that RCBM would win the IPL title, but each year they only continued to disappoint us but I thought that RCBW would have better luck but I wonder if they’re jinxed as well. However since it’s just the start let’s give them few more matches, but if they continue to disappoint then their fortunes won’t be any different then their male counterparts.

For the finals, why did you choose DC to be the winner? Aren't the Mumbai Indian girls better as the way they won the two matches?
I placed a big bet on DC outright to win the final primarily because of Meg Lanning who helped Australia win 7 World Cup titles so far which pretty much says everything.

She took a break and returned and still managed to help her team win the recent World Cup. MI does seem like the favorites to win the cup, but T-20 cricket is a volatile format which is why I bet on DC.

I mean there is no point to compare the women's IPL with the men's first ever IPL. The teams were different, the players were different and the circumstances were different. If the underdogs Rajasthan Royals won the first IPL, this does not mean that this time in WPL the same thing will repeat.

As per looking at current matches, I guess the more stronger of the women's team will win this cup and it could be either Mumbai Indians women or Dehli Capital women's.

MI are playing so well that it looks like DC is the only team capable of stopping them. Already won a couple of bets thanks to them. MI vs DC in the finals and DC winning the first WPL is my prediction.

Just because there are a lot of fireworks going on, there will be a lot of people really interested to see these matches. So my opinion is that this is a good marketing strategy.  Smiley
This is a good point. Similar strategies were used in the IPL which is why what you stated makes complete sense.
Short boundaries also helped a bit at least in 1 match. Another important factor is there are some inexperienced bowlers in every team and good batters are feasting against them.
