*Decred is an open, progressive, and self-funding cryptocurrency with a system of community-based governance integrated into its blockchain. At its core is a hybridized proof-of-work proof-of-stake (PoW/PoS) consensus system that aims to strike a balance between PoW miners and PoS voters to create a more robust notion of consensus. << BLAKE >>

quote of the day
What are some of the issues with a private blockchains?

Is this a serious question?  Private chains/federated chains = counterparty risk, central point of failure, no anti-fragile attributes, no reason for anyone to keep the system up and running if it's no longer profitable or beneficial to the federated administrator.  The list goes on?  The fact that the "trusted parties" can cease functionality of the chain at will makes it impossible to use as a real store of value unless the counterparty is maybe the government and you're already forced or held hostage to "trust" them.  But those systems already exist...it's called central banker IOU notes.
Using the blockchain to recreate legacy financial systems is a Rube Goldberg machine.

full list of multi-algo coins, in chronological order of release/fork to multi-algo.

    Huntercoin
    Myriad
    Saffroncoin
    Parallelcoin
    Joincoin
    Digibyte*
    Digitalcoin
    Neoscoin (since forked to mono-algo)
    Unitus
    Aurora* (fork ~1st May)
    Verge (to be released)

Sadly, Saffron and Parallel seem to be on their death throes... and Huntercoin, while technically multi-algo, is a rather different design. So in the multi-algo arena, I really consider there to be only 6 contenders as of yet.

* Coins with the same algos as Myriad

POS of interest
Hi all, in less than 3000 blocks Evotion will have its first block reward halving from 32EVO to 16EVO per mined block.

Here some interesting Facts about Evotion:

that's it for now folks, maybe one day someone from community will step up and make fresh unofficial announcement to put all information at one place.

regards.

Sorry, but I don't get that: How is it possible to have 70% less coins than estimated if all the blocks were mined and the coins generated?
Where are the remaining coins?

There is 70% less due to people staking their coins instead of people staking and mining, it seems mining for this coin never took of but pos did hence why the supply was lower

This is a fast POS staking coin with a slower POW so once you got some coins you can stake at 22% interest rate. You get many small rewards since the block times are 20 seconds for POS but they are 2 minutes for POW.

Pow Block Time: 2 minutes - Last Pow Block: 1,576,800
Pos Block Time: 20 Seconds

Proof Of Stake Information:

Pos Starts: Block 1000
Pos Block Time: 20 Seconds

Minting Maturity: 110 Blocks

Minimum Stake Age: 2 hours
Maximum Stake Age : 5 days

Proof Of Stake Reward: 22% divided by 2 after block 500,000

Current Block: 349286
Current Coin Supply (EVO) 1529359.11840623

anyone know why coins like FCT TIPS NEM EMC AMP EAC XVG XSI and so on have made marketcap increases from 500% to 10.000% ?
Can't speak for the others, but XSI is a Pump Scam by some Chinese Miners, as it had nothing happening and the price spiked and now the Volume is $ 18,482   on 1 Exchange.
PURE SCAM !!!

i'm not a big fan of yobit. they seem to let too many wallets go into maintenance and there's not much you can do about it ..

will look at Yobit
also considering setting aside a fund to get C-Cex listing

Was the first PoS coin Peercoin...?
I remember (and my memory is not great) that a coin called 'miniblox' or 'minibrix' was the first to have proof of stake implemented and launched before Peercoin.

SolidCoin claims that particular crown apparently
https://microcash.org/threads/solidcoin-was-first-to-do-proof-of-stake.33/  <<-- quite an interesting read. early histories of shitcoins

"
SolidCoin v2.0 was released October, 2011
Peercoin was released 12 August, 2012

I am not claiming the proof of stake methods used in SolidCoin v2 and Peercoin are the same because they are not. In my opinion Peercoin has a much better implementation of proof of stake. Just because I released a working implementation of proof of stake first does not mean I invented it first. The idea first seemed to come up on the Bitcointalk forums in July 2011 https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/proof-of-stake-instead-of-proof-of-work-27787 . At least according to Bitcoin wiki.

Yes, it would be just great if we manage to get on both these exchanges, and after that we could start thinking about Bittrex and Poloniex Cool
