............

It doesn't specify on them what chips the hubs use. One is of the Pi Hut's own brand, the other branded Cerulian from Maplin, both are 7 port with 2 amp supplies (though I have both powered by the ATX PSUs that power the miners). The way it behaved seemed to be down to lack of power on the USB bus rather than incompatible hardware as when I added the second powered hub, everything worked. As I am typing this I have 3 HEX16Es, a HEX8A1 and a Gridseed Dualminer all connected to the same Pi, all running stably using cgminer.

Yes, most of manufacture never include that information. I always ask them before buying  Cheesy
It's better to use same power supply with the miner.

Just one thing run it @ about 300/840

I've hacked together cables to run all three from a single psu, using all the 12v lines from all the unused sata and peripheral cables to gain the extra pcie cables it needed. I've had it running for a while at that setting without getting too hot.

I had problems with the raspberry pi not detecting all of the miners at the same time (each worked individually) and some of the other usb devices working erratically when all were connected via one hub, so I swapped that for a powered hub which improved things except still only detecting two miners, connecting the miners via a second powered hub fixed it.

What kind of USB HUB?
You need to find USB hub that use MTT chips. STT chip can't work fine.
There are many cheap powered usb hub that use MTT chips.

Has my order WDCXLFPXA been shipped yet? I placed this order for a HEX16E on the 4th of August, was told about the problems with it and it should be shipped at the end of September. Since then, nothing, not even an reply to my emails. My previous orders arrived ok so why not this one? I want my miner.
Your order + compensation will be out of the door tomorrow

Thanks, can you let me have the tracking number

Still waiting for that tracking number

Aren't we all...

No, i am not

Lucky you

Wow, I've been given a new tracking number and the couriers have picked it up today. I might even get my miner by Christmas!
You will for sure .
And the package contains a small surpise

The package arrived today, and yes it did contain a surprise, three HEX16E boards arranged in a square tube with a fan at the end, a bit like the HEX4RBox. Got them all running nicely with a Pi as controller.
Many thanks for the extra boards and I love the arrangement, it makes it much easier to manage airflow than having the boards stacked.

With a passive hub you mean a hub without external power supply? Then I'll have to order a new 13 port one and not use the power adapter so if that is the case we will have to wait a few days before i have the new hub.

There is nothing wrong with powered USB HUB. You only nedd to use some power supply that the miner use.
Do not use the bundled power supply.

For USB HUB, use USB hub that using Multiple Transaction Translator (MTT) chips

I am having huge problems with one of my technobit router losing connection with it's 6 hex4m boards, (that is after all 7 blew out my previous 13 port hub in 2 days) and after a day or two i am left with all the lights on the boards blinking as the should but the router only hashes with two or three (or 0) of them. Do you have a hub you could recommend??? because I am losing lots of hashpower like this. My routers currently have 0.3.9 does 0.4.0 have any improvements for the hex4m miners? Any other solutions?

BTW the hex4m board that i bought from you from the blackarrow fiasco through jimmothy has decided that it will only work when at 1024/832 but even then it produces 75+% stale shares (@ around 396 Gh) and crashes after about 1-10 hours on my pc with cgminer. I can't even run it on any of my routers (I have 2 but one has this problem way more often than the other, but there the hub i bought for both is still working and i do not have to use 6 port hub but even that router loses a miner sometimes for a few hours or a day and sometimes until reset)so can I get a RMA for that hex4m only running  at 832 mV? The problem with that would be that it has no order reference number since it is not shown in my technobit.eu account.

PLEASE HELP me are my boards faulty???

I hope i don't get your problems when i hookup my hex4m this weekend.
I was planning to make it 100% liquid cooled. I got the 4 cpu blocks rad fans etc. but i will first start with aircoolers to test the board...

Any tips martin? settings etc i use a mr-3020

Hi,
It may be the router itself.
Nut there might be an issue with hex usb port.
use any passive hub and tp-link
connect everything and please give TW access inside the LAN where the router is.
I'll have a look adn we'll decide whenever it is hub/tp-link issue or board needs RMA

Martin

To make it a desktop model keep it silent. To bad the gentle typhone fans are not available anymore.
Liquid cooling maybe. Wink

2 x 120 mm Fans , same like the one you have with hex4m , So you can compare.
380 GHs with 275 W @ the wall with 88-90 % eff PSU
