Zverev is the same type of guy but not as bad as Kyrgios.

Hopefully Zverev will be able to play on the court again soon. After tearing 3 external ligaments in his ankle in June, he hopes to return soon. Maybe he will make it in time for the US Open at the end of August. He is in training again and will make a decision in 10 days. He definitely wants to play in the Davis Cup group matches in Hamburg in mid-September.

I feel that he’ll definitely reach the finals and probably win it too.

Kyrgios has momentum, he is playing great, had his chance against Djokovic as well, and won all other matches since Wimbledon

not sure about winning Montreal, but after kicking out Medvedev, he has an open road to final stages, and that could be an easy task, if he continues this way

as I already said, Medvedev is not no.1 potential, he ended up there as coincidence
I think its recency bias that you think like that. Medvedev when in form is an absolute beast. He has been to 4 Grandslam finals out of which he's won 1. Men's playing field is pretty stacked up to top 50 that it can't be pure co-incidence that someone just stumbles to world no.1. He has also won the year end ATP finals and has reached to the finals another year. He might not be an all courter and struggles on clay but it isnt like that hasnt been seen before. He's still just 26 and has a long way to go into his career. Being from Russia also became an issue this year and turned into a reason why he couldnt capitalize on the current season. I expect him to be back in form next year.

Medvedev is difficult to asses I think. I once saw a game between him and Tsitsipas and he literally fell apart. I a very little sense he is like Kyrgios or Zverev. Often times the real big guys like the 3 GOAT, they know it. That is also how Nadal or Djokovic will keep beating Kyrgios. Kyrgios has amazing winning streaks in terms of matches but also in terms of games within single matches. The smart guys then just wait for Kyrgios to beat himself up mentally. That story has repeated itself so often that it is already a firm part of the opponents' strategy against Kyrgios. I would do the same, get him destroy himself.

Zverev is the same type of guy but not as bad as Kyrgios. What really distinguished Federer, Djokovic and Nadal from the rest is this absolute power to keep their nerves under the craziest and most hopelessness circumstances. Which at the same time is kind of also one of the most impressive skills they all have.

Medvedev with this loss in Montreal now has a chance to lose his first place at Cinncinati if Rafael Nadal wins the tournament. If Nadal wins the tournament he will be no1 in the world. Kyrgios looks really tired and i wouldnt be shocked if he just gives up on this tournament.

I watched the match between Medvedev and Kyrgios, well the last 2 sets! I thought his
performance was brilliant and as one of the commentators said on his day he can beat
anyone. Some of the shots he made were astounding.

I also disagree that Medvedev is not #1 material, at the moment with all that is going on
the Russian players have a lot of distraction and broken schedules, these are not normal
times but he definitely has all the criteria to become #1 and retain that spot for some time.

I disagree that Medvedev is not no.1 potential. Other than his mental breakdowns, he has everything needed to dominate the next few years in tennis - along with players like Alcaraz and Sinner.

With Kyrgios - I guess I will forever have my doubts. He is great when stable, which he currently is. But then again - if he gets his breakdown - he will lose to anybody that can hold a racquet. He will buy me when he shows he can be stable for a few years - not a few tournaments.

Yeah, I do agree that Nick has now the momentum and I will be riding on his in this tournament. Maybe bet on him if the player that he will be facing is not name Djkovic or Nadal.

As for Medvedev, another disastrous year for him, probably a number 1 seed that is not as consistent as the others before him who become the top seed, like the big 3. Still though, he will have to prove himself again in the next tournament.

Kyrgios just defeated and knocked out Medvedev from Montreal. He was playing so good and continues to dominate. But what is worrying is that he looks really tired and i dont know if he can win this tournament but he knocked out the worlds number one
Kyrgios keeps his game updated regularly. In the past 15 matches, Kyrgios marked 14 wins. In the past Kyrgios have defeated Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon, which created big expectation on him. His highest reach of third round in Canada Masters 1000 event took place in Quebec. Maybe this time it could be a big opportunity for him progress high and reach the final.

@Joca97 it doesn’t matter if he looked tired till he has the motivation to win he’ll get there, and he showed us that he won’t give up and will go all out for a victory. @romero121 I believe that fans will be truly disappointed if he fails to make it to the finals, and after seeing his latest performances I feel that he’ll definitely reach the finals and probably win it too.

Was a perfect tennis day for me yesterday, first with Čilić and then my late night ticket passed as well. This one was not expected to pass so it was nice boost to my betting bank:

For today I am lookin to take Carreno Busta, he should win easy against out of form Rune and odds @1.6 seem like free money. I am not looking at late matches yet, that will go on late night ticket.
Whoa! Well done Trofo.
That's a nice looking betslip for tennis and a good amount to win on it. Congratulations on that accomplishment.

I had mine for over on games and they ended up all unders.

Was watching the match and was shocked in the final set where he beat him 6-2.
Kyrgios really improved lately in the last few tournaments he has been in and was surprised when the announcer at the end of the match said he wasn't seeded for this one. Thought he was atleast 11th but no.
Also Tommy Paul taking out the #2 in the tournament earlier on doesn't mean being #1 and 2 means much during these ATP 1000 tournaments I imagine.

This was before the match. He is having a great 2022 and it seems like he's living up to the potential this year, finally. He was also generally carrying some sort of injury or another in the past couple of years but it seems like he's finally fully fit + psychologically doing a lot better and seems motivated to have a good season. Unlike his careless attitude previously.

After the Barthy ... we have another illustrious tennis player announced to retire this year!
I'm talking about Serena Williams! It looks like this US Open will be her last tournament in which she will participate.

Well this moment was bound to happen and I expected her to retire already a lot earlier than this moment. She has nothing to prove anymore as she won all the grandslams multiple times. She is just one grandslam title short to match the record of Margaret Court; she had multiple chances to match it and even surpass it but failed to do it a couple of times (she lost against Osaka, Halep, Kerber).

Nice one Trofo!

Yea I have Carreno Busta for today against Rune and also De Minaur to beat Dimitrov.

So Kyrgios got the job done yesterday against Baez and today faces #1 seed Medvedev.
Given Kyrgios' high performance ATM and Medvedev's lack of game time compared,
does anyone give Nick a chance? ROLLBIT are being cautious and only offering up to
+2.5 on Kyrgios.

Was able to catch the match between Schwartzman and Davidovich Fokina. And I think the score was like 3-3 or something because I have to hurry up and place my beat on Schwartzman at 2.5 at 1.85.

They are 1-1, Alejandro winning the first set 6-1 and then Diego coming back and win the second 6-3. And in the decider it was Schwartzman's back hand that did the trick for him to win 6-4.

Montreal started, without Nadal and Djokovic, there will a lot of interesting matches, and several players could reach final stage

for today, I will go with Cilic, Krajinovic and Berrettini, solid picks, not bad odds, Krajinovic @2.2 is a value bet, IMO
Medvedev is top spot, but I do not think he will take the title

Just watching Kyrgios against Baez ATM, if Kyrgios wins this he will face Medvedev
in the next round. Its the first set and Nick was 1-5 up and looked super focussed but
seems to be getting a bit negative now. Its now 4-5 Huh

Yea its time for her to retire, she is still super talented and that carries her so far but
there are plenty of players now who can easily beat her.

Odds are very generous and I am sort of worried that bookies maybe have some information that isn't publicly available.

seems there was no information hidden from public, easy win for Cilic
nevertheless, Berrettini spoiled the party, easy lose, without fight, from Carreno-Busta, and he could be assigned as "grass-only" player this year

that left me with Krajinovic, started good, but it is interrupted now
