Alex De Minaur as 11 seed was upset Nishioka of Japan. And Rune destroys Paire in 2 easy sets.

Another upset is Hurcacz, he is the number 2 seed but he was badly beaten by E. Ruusuvuori.

Lots of good matches to watch later, Kyrgios vs Opelka is one, Rublev vs Cressy.

In the ladies side, top seed Pegula was ousted by Gavrilova, 5-7, 4-6.

They were good odds on Khachanov, nice one. Before I went to bed I put another bet
on Kyrgios to beat Giron @ 1.26 which he won 6-3, 6-2. Handily enough, I was thinking
on doing a handicap on him but its just too risky.

For today I'm taking Korda to beat Baez, it could be another tough one for Korda though.

Something interesting today is Rune v Paire! Paire os underdog @3.25 and Rune has
really gone off the boil lately, does anyone have the will or confidence in Paire? nice odds though...

Well Paire has destroyed by parlay on the last time I bet on him. So for sure I will not go, and instead might be better to put a bet on Rune.

On the Khachanov match, that odds goes up a bit,I think it was like that in the first set when he was down. And then when he losses the first set complete, it could have been like 2.x. It might some nerved as I thought he will loss the 2nd set, but fortunately he had break in that last game, score 7-5.

Andy murray is having a tough time right now he is facing mikael ymer on washington ATP, he lost the first set in a tie break and now he lost his serve and he is beh8nd i thought hewould win today since ymer is not doing good recently but i guess this won't happen, murray seem to be having difficulties when playing on a hard court.

Yea he lost that in the end  The Ymer brothers do have a lot of talent but I guess that
was a match Murray was kind of expected to win.

First game today sees Paire beating Gojowczyk which was probably against the odds.

A lot of big names playing later. I have a couple of bets on for Rublev to beat Draper,
van de Zandschulp to beat Gojo

@Ratash Andy was clearly struggling and I don’t think that he’ll be able to repeat his past performances, hence he should seriously consider retiring as he’s achieved a nice legacy already. @aoluain I hope that you didn’t wager on him, because I personally don’t expect him to win any matches these days and I feel that one should consider wagering against him to make some quick bucks.

Good catch van de Zandschulp against Gojo, never see the odds as the game is too late for my timezone. But it was 3 set win by van de Zandschulp.

And then the top seed Rublev destroying Draper. 6-4, 6-2.

Was able to bet on the Khachanov vs Koepfer, I have Karen ML at 1.80 live betting as this is the only match that I was able to catch, it was a come from behind from Karen and it was really very tough game for him.

TBH Sinner has been until recently "kind of" a limited player i use that term very loosely
but fairly effective at what he was doing but I recon he realised he needed to develop further
which seems to be bearing fruit now.

Like bitbollo we have been following Sinner for a while and would class him as one of our favourites.
For his age he has super talent and a great manner.

Keep in mind that he has signed a sponsorship agreement with Nike worth 150 million over 10 years! It is difficult to invest these sums of money on a player who will not be a top player Roll Eyes

Thats a massive deal and indeed Nike see him as a very viable investment!

Sinner is a really strong player who has been unlucky lately due to a series of injuries (he is now fully recovering).
I have been following him for years and he has always given me emotions at a sporting level Wink even if some defeats were obviously unexpected

He's one of the youngest player to reach the top 10 rank from the Association of Tennis Professionals. As said Nike won't get into such a big deal with a common player. Only after proper analysis about the player and his performance only the company decides whether to sign the deal or not. Being very young will let him perform big and be on the top. All these facts would've been taken in consideration by Nike while signing the deal.

I watched both semifinals live in Umag and I have to say that Sinner looked way better and was my favorite before the final.

I'm really bummed that I did not bet on him - Alcaraz lost me all my money against Zeppieri.

That guy played some really good tennis btw - I saw he's not ranked really high but he's only 20 years old and didn't play that much yet.

I will keep track of him going forward - at least for a while.
I was expecting result like this but not in this way because after winning first set on tiebreaker there was chance Sinner will fight back, and we will have three sets but as he plays in next two sets it's completely shocking result never allow Alcaraz to have any thing good for him after winning first set. With this win now most chances Sinner will be in limelight for some time because this is big win for him and another lost for Alcaraz he already lost final few days back and now losing second final is surely something problem for him in big matches.

Age factor is also going into Sinner favor, and he can develop as big player for big games in coming years with Federer is out and Djokovic is also not coming in USA open Nadal is also having fitness issues and Medvedev is also not allowed this could be good time for him to go at his best.

Didnt expect Sinner to improve this much over the last few months. He beated again Alcaraz last time on Wimbledon and now in Umag so he is really picking up pace. If he continues like this we will see him really fast at the very top,but still you need to win a lot of tournaments to go into top5.
I think he's got the potential to be a future world no. 1. Watched his game against Alcaraz and there was nothing Alcaraz could have done after being up a set and 3 break points early into the 2nd. Sinner just went into beast mode. Effortlessly hitting from both wings. Alcaraz was returning majority of it back with good depth but Sinner barely made any errors when it mattered and just powered through Carlos. The score line tells the story of what happened in the 2nd and 3rd set.

It was a stunning performance by Sinner to win the following 2 sets after losing narrowly
the first set.

It seems his change of team recently is starting to bring results, well done to him and his team.

And my second bet over at Atlanta also paid out, De Minaur beat Brooksby 6-3, 6-3
happy enough with that.

Sinner absolutely obliterated Alcaraz after a close first set loss. Its unbelievable how easily he generates power to hit the shot and they don't even look like a risky shot when he goes down the line. Alcaraz looked absolutely clueless after the first set. He still managed to run and get to the balls with quality depth but Sinner was always a step ahead and charging forward to finish the point instead of extending the rally. 6-1,6-1 against Carlos Alcaraz, who's been dominating on clay is quite an achievement. Sinner is a potential world no. 1. You heard it here first. Wink
I was a bit suspicious about this game but in clay i did not expect sinner to win so easily after the first set which was a war the second and third were one sided i think many players have the potential to be number one sinner and alcaraz included the current number one medvedev just doesn't seem that dominant to me it seems that we will see many players alternating for the number one spot in the future.

@vennali Sinner definitely showed a champions mentality because it’s not always easy to lose the first set, and then immediately bounce back in the second set and now he should try and further improve his game. @Ratash I feel that Sinner is different then other player’s, and if he continues to improve his game then @vennali prediction about him will definitely come true in the long run.

Yes, happy for those who bet on Sinner,  Grin, ML and the handicap, good job Jannik.

He lost the 1st set at a very close match, however, as you have said, 6-1 2x in the last 2 sets? That's a total domination from Sinner.

For sure, Alcaraz will want to have a rematch, lol, but it will take some time before this 2 can play again. But we will love to see them again.

Same here, I'm looking at Sinner +2.5 right now, if this is going to be close and Alcaraz is not as dominant in this tournament then Sinner could have a good chance to steal this one from him.

So this can still go either way, and who started very strong and can hold it mentally, can win this match. Over and then ML at 2.23 might be good value bet for Sinner.
My heart says Sinner will win but my brain says no way Alcaraz loses this on Clay of all surfaces. Sinner did beat Alcaraz this year, but it was on grass. Should be an entertaining match, irrespective of the result.
Right now, Alcaraz is leading this final by 1 - 0 as he won first set on tiebreaker but now in second set we have very good fight back from Sinner with early breaker, and now he is also leading this second set by 1 - 3 with this now we are already heading for three set final and over in points as well because both players are in good spirit and not going to give up easily from here most chances Sinner could be having good advantage as Alcaraz is not having good time even still it is not easy game for anyone here in this final.
