I read an interview with van de Zandschulp. He said that Kyrgios is a clown because he mainly wants to entertain people on the track itself. You can see that a lot of people are in favor of Kyrgios, but I think he is being too lax about it. He can play tennis very well, but he is not going to win a Grand Slam for the time being. By the way, Alcaraz made a good impression, he could also score high. He is better on gravel than on grass. Van Rijthoven's fairy tale continues to last. Only player who has won all his matches on the ATP to date.

Kyrgios was absolutely flying today. I don't remember seeing somebody returning like this on grass for a very long time. He was untouchable on serve and very clinical throughout the match. Now if he was just stable enough to continue with performances like today I would have my new favorite to bet on. But him being Kyrgios after all, I am afraid he will just turn mentally and gift someone a pass in one of next rounds.

Whatever he does, he'll never be my favorite while betting. He's just too unpredictable and his talent doesn't really mean a thing when he just switches off and decides not to play anymore.

I quite dislike him as a character as well but I will root for him against Tsitsipas - I made a bet that Tsitsipas is going out in the 3rd round at the beginning of the tournament.

Krygios' performance can differ a lot from day to day. He is a little unreliable player about this topic. However the morale of this kind of players must have increased to upper level absolutely as some of the favourites have said goodbye to the tournament already now. But I don't think of making any bet on this tournament. Whoever I bet on has said goodbye to the tournament in first round.

I havent seen a better Kyrgios in a long time. He was playing perfect his serve was just perfect and his return on serve. If he continues like this we will see him at least in the semi finals. I just wonder how long he will play this good until he starts doing stupid stuff

On the other hand, it seems that in America, domestic players will be able to play unvaccinated but not foreigners. There really are a lot of double standards and hypocrisy here and Djokovic and others has a right to be angry.

interesting topic, and often elaborated by all my friends and collegues, due to Djokovic, but I have to say that all countries have their rights to exercise whatever they like on their soil, as all people have certain rules in their own house

back to tournament, Nadal just started, Kyrgios was very good
Isner get me some money yesterday, Alcaraz proved that he has some skills on grass as well, and Norrie basically survived

Garin is using his chance, third round following Berrattini covid positive result

Given what happened at the GS in Australia with Djokovic, and the limitations of Covid, and given the announcements that unvaccinated foreign players will not be able to play in America, I find it a little strange that at Wimbledon no one cares about it, there are no restrictions, testing, nothing...
There were even rumors that some tennis players at the GS in Paris were infected with Covid but still played because they didn't have to get tested and didn't even tell anyone.
Is this about double standards to save the tournament and allow all tennis players to play, regardless of the health hazard?

There are not many interesting matches today. But there is one that I find interesting. Filip Krajinović - Nick Kyrgios. If Kyrgios does not complain as much as he did in his first round, he can go very far in this tournament. He plays very well on grass and he should win this match.
Yes, Nick is a good grass player no doubt about it, but then again, the attitude though, that what makes Nick affect his performance in what like 3-4 years already. He is good no doubt only if he can focus on the game.

I think it's gonna be a slow second round for the ladies, we will see how Nadal vs Berankis in the second round. Surprising 3 set win by Alcaraz over Griekspoor. Unfortunately, fan favorite Andy Murray has been booted out in 4 sets by Isner.

I saw the latter part of Kyrgios's first round match. He was playing a Brit (Paul Jubb) who is ranked outside the top 200 and has never done anything before. It was a 5-setter, and although Kyrgios won that final set 7-5, he was actually break-point down when serving at 5-5. If he'd lost that one point, then Jubb would have been serving for the match, and likely would have gone through. The fact that Krygios was so close to losing a match that he should have won without any trouble makes me sceptical that he's going to go far. I know he's volatile, and you can never tell what he's going to do, how he's going to play... but nevertheless this match was a bit of a warning sign.

Norrie had some really unexpected difficulties with Munar today - I expected that one to end really fast and in straight sets.
Ultimately he wasn't in any real danger because he won the last 2 sets quite easily - but I'm sure he expected it to be a quicker match.

Tomorrow we have Krajinović vs Kyrgios, that one should be interesting.
Was just checking markets for today and I am quite disappointed. Not one match that really interests me. This one you mentioned could be good, but I am afraid to bet on it. Both players had way too much problems in first match when you account for their opponents lack of quality.

Nothing interesting on women's side as well. Swiatek @1.01 is unplayable, maybe only some handicap on Kvitova.

I am a bit puzzled about Basilashvili. He had some difficulties against Quentin Halys. Especially the second set, did he had a blackout? 6:0. Within 20 minutes everything was open again. But then he still managed it very close. Unfortunately I could not read a summary of the match.

Van Rijthoven has won again. It was no coincidence that he won Rosmalen 2 weeks ago. Striking fact is that the bookmakers put him at 50-50 today against the experienced American Opelka, still in the best 15 in the world. They have a high impression of him. He should also be able to get through the next round. Could this be a new world topper perhaps? I also saw that Casper Ruud was eliminated, the number 6 in the world.

Isner @3, or at least handicap on him, would not be an easy task for Murray to break many Isner serves

Murray has perhaps the best record of anyone against Isner, he's 8-0.
I know Murray now is not quite the Murray of his peak years, but he's still one of the great returners in the game, and I think he'll win. Murray's main issue is maintaining fitness, and an Isner match isn't too much of an issue as half of it is invariably spent standing around. It's not like it's going to be a succession of long, draining rallies.

Edit: also like Peniston and Goffin but I would stay clear of Alcaraz, he is not a grass player.

Peniston is out, and Djokovic finished at 11+, not so good, especially with Norrie down in third set

nevertheless, Serbian derby set in third round Djokovic vs Kecmanovic, could bring a little more fire, although Djokovic was the one today, no doubt this is a championship form, nothing close to first round

Do you think that if Nadal loses at some point in this tournament, Djokovic will be the clear favorite to win this year title also ?

Novak Djokovic have won the title in 2018,2019 and 2021. There was no competition in 2020 due to covid 19 pandemic. So seeing this history Djokovic would be looking to win the consecutive four titles.
Nothing can be said with 100% certainty but if you are betting for the 2022 title, go for Novak Djokovic  Smiley

That was a fast round from Otte. He played very confidently and concentrated and quickly led 3:1. But after only 15 minutes the match was over because Harrison had to give up. It is not known why and there was no injury. So Otte is already in round 3 and will play against Griekspoor or Alcaraz.

Frankly, it is quite sad that the majority of the names that can make difficulties for Djokovic in the Wimbledon can't go on in the tournament anymore. Even though Rafael Nadal won yesterday, he started to perform badly after the middle of the 3rd set. However he still managed to recover. I hope that he doesn't experience this kind of performance drops a lot. If Nadal also says goodbye to the tournament in some way the quality of the tournament would decrease on a large scale compared to the previous years.

Do you think that if Nadal loses at some point in this tournament, Djokovic will be the clear favorite to win this year title also ?

I am currently watching the match between Djokovic  and Kokkinakis. Djokovic  is showing his class in the match and have won the set easily 6-1 and also looking strong in the second set 4-2.

I have been following the German player Otte lately. This year he is in his best form and he won clearly in 3 sets against Peter Gojowczy in the first round at Wimbledon. That was also the first time his year. he did not need a tiebreak on grass.
Today he is playing against Christian Harrison. He certainly has a lot of self-confidence because he also won in 3 sets in the first round.
But Otte should win the match today.
Otte has been good on grass this season and I believe he will win quite easy today. Maybe even in straight sets. I have set handicap 1.5 on him. Meaning he can loose one set for my bet to hit.

I alos took handicap on Kokkinakis against Djoko, 10.5 is a lot on grass against good server. Should be quite safe bet.

Edit: also like Peniston and Goffin but I would stay clear of Alcaraz, he is not a grass player.
