The last remaining player from Germany Maria will play against Jabeur in about 45 minutes. The odds are against Maria. And although I wish her a victory, she probably will not win and the semifinal will be her endstation. Jabeur has been in the final 4 times this year and plays very well on grass. But it could be that she needs 3 sets to win.

Not just 22 GSs, too, this is his 38th Wimbledon semi (so says BBC). Experience isn't the only thing to win the day but in his case, it's more than enough.

Injury v Injury, just hope there's no retire to ruin all our days.
38th Grand slam semi final for sure, if it was 38th Wimbledon he would have to be at least 55 years old and in semi every year  Grin

I really don't know what to think about Nadal injuries, there is couple of players that think he is faking it and logically injury can't be to serius if he can play over 4 hours on pitch.

I think the BBC has got it wrong, must be his 38th slam semi, surely?

But having said that... I might be tempted to bet that Nadal can eventually make 38 semi-final appearances at Roland Garros. That would assume he can remain one of the top 4 clay court players in the world, up until he's about 60 years old. The way he's been on clay so far, I wouldn't rule it out! I can almost see him now, standing on the baseline, slightly stooped, walking stick in one hand, tennis racquet in the other, destroying anyone who dares to go up against him... Cheesy

Didn't work out for me yesterday, good thing I didn't back Fritz in the end (him winning first set of course helped me not do that as odds went badly).

now Nadal is reaching SF, with an injury, and Kyrgios did not provide much of promised success in previous 5+ years, more or less, just amusement to audience, with his attitude
this match is certainly to be skipped for betting
Kyrgios is actually always better against top players, I guess he respects them enough to put up a serious performance. I just wanted to place the bet on him, expecting at least 2.5 odds and then I find out that bookies placed him as favorite @1,67. So a guy that isn't that young, first time playing semi final in any grand slam is a favorite against the guy that won 22 grand slams? No thanks, if odds stay like this my money can only go on Nadal even with all the injury problems.

Yeah, Nadal all the way for me, and at these odds? Even live, Nadal and Djokovic when down just too good to pass.

Wow, after three sets, Taylor leads and the bookmakers quotes are as follows:

1.30 Fritz, Taylor

3.75 Nadal, Rafael

To be honest, I really want to bet on both outcomes - Taylor looks like a favorite, but 3.75 on Nadal ... lol! So I'll hold off for now. I don't know who will win this game, but maybe it's worth betting on Taylor if Nadal wins the fourth set?

unbelievable play from Rafa, did not watch the match, but took to bookies and sae odds on Nadal @5.3, it was second set, 4:4, and I thought that he does not have a hand, if odds were there, so missed it

nevertheless, his win is probably magic, as magic can be, Djokovic made turnback yesterday, but Sinner was never really close to win, Fritz had fourth set until 5:5, and tie-break in fifth, but did not make it to ML

is it possible to see Nadal fit in SF? Kyrgios has historic chance on finals

We dont see odds like that on Rafa, 3.75 and 5.5. I only saw the tie break and was just
too busy to even check the scores from set to set. Thats the champions attitude, always
find a way to win, we saw it yesterday with Djokovic too.

Up next for Rafa is Kyrgios.

The odds were due to the injury. Yes, we would never ever see odds like that on Rafa in normal circumstances, like with Djokovic, even if he's two sets down, you would still expect him to pull through and win.
The issue here, and probably the only thing that prevents Nadal being outright favourite for the whole tournament, is his abdominal injury. For much of the match yesterday he was serving at half pace. Not sure how much it affected his overall movement, but that serve stretch was definitely giving him a lot of trouble.

Still, even with that, he managed to beat one of the top grass court players, just like he won the French Open effectively on one foot a few weeks back.
If he can recover quickly and perform at full fitness, Rafa must be favourite ahead of Djokovic. The question is only really fitness at the moment.

It turns out that Nadal played his game against Sinner with a very nasty abdominal injury. It even looked like he might have to give up. He said after the game that he even had to adjust his serve completely because he couldn't move well with serving. Perhaps that explains why Sinner had managed to almost win. A fit Nadal who could have easily won against Sinner. A round before against the Zandschulp, Nadal didn't seem to be bothered by anything. If the final is Djokovic - Nadal, then Nadal doesn't stand a chance with this injury.
Nadal played agaisnt Taylor Fritz not Sinner. IT was Djokovic that faced Sinner. Yeah, it is inspirational how Nadal kept going. Even I thought after 3 sets when a personal trainer came on court, Nadal would stop playing and Fritz goes on into the semi finals. Was surprising to see him get back up and looked great until the end. Fritz did mess up a few points, probably due to nerves but he had played really well until the later parts of 4th set. If the match was for just 3 sets, Fritz wouldve surely won.

Checked the odds myself also and I expected a lot higher odds for Kyrgios ;was curious to know what your thoughts about it! I will probably skip this match to bet on; there is value in betting on Nadal but personally I am routing for Kyrgrios and hope/think he will win this match.
Same here, I'm routing for a Kyrgios win, now at 1.59, he is indeed the favorite because of Nadal's injury. So I might also skip this one out.

And with that, I will bet on the Djokovic vs Norrie match. But it won't be pre betting, wanted to see how Djokovic is in the first set and see if he can have value specially if he losses at least one of two like in his previous match wherein, the odds for him at ML went high because of the two quick set losses.
There is no doubt right now Kyrgios is at the top of his game and after having last few matches easily mostly peoples considering him as favorite for game against Nadal but as I watch his last few matches he is also having some trouble in shoulder which can give him some stress in game against Nadal because it's going to be no easy for anyone to win and go through into final.

If check the history of these both then surely Nadal is at his best but with some improvement now Kyrgios is also having much better results, and he can win this game even he can give tough time to Djokovic in final of this tournament because he is doing amazing game.

Nadal struggled for the whole 5 sets (Fritz was playing good, it has to be said) and then destroyed him in the last, deciding game. It is incredible to see him and Đoković do that match after match, set after set, game after game.

He was in constant pain again, his father wanted him to forfeit but he did not want to. He's still unsure whether he'll be able to play on Friday.

All in all - looks like an open road to the trophy for Đoković.

Yes, and it might be only Nick who is going to stand the way of Djokovic for another grand slam. Nick is now the favorite against Nadal, not surprised because Rafa is in pain and it will take a miracle for him to win against the resurgent Kyrgios. And if ever Rafa wins, then it will be him against Djokovic. So again, he has all the advantage as Nadal in finals not 100% against him will be a disaster.

let's not forget that Kyrgios beat Nadal at Wimbledon once, 2014, if I remember right
he was relatively unknown, and promising star, and Nadal was in series of season where passing few rounds at Wimbledon was an issue

Right now, with the way both players are doing I am enjoying this all because now its tough fight is going on here both players already faced each other 9 times and Nadal won 6 with Kyrgios won 3 times and in last four matches every time Kyrgios won one set which is interesting fact. Currently, Nadal is facing some injury problem and Kyrgios is having amazing form mean Bookmakers are right if they are having him as favorite player for this match but still Nadal is not going to be easy because today we already watch how can he turn things for himself and still he can go through for final against Djokovic.

I am cheering for Nadal, and hopefully he is going to encourage his fans for another win and another final against his B-3 companion.

So he got the job done in 3 sets today, I wonder how these allegations are affecting him?
The match with Nadal will reveal a lot? whether he has become more serious, toned
down the aggro in light of the domestic violence.

In todays Quarters I am fearing more for Nadal than Kyrgios. Fritz is going well
and has beaten Nadal already but yea this is a GS.
If we look just at best tennis levels these players can produce then I absolutely agree. But then you add the fact that Nadal is mental beast in BO5 matches and Kyrgios is quite unstable and then I am not so sure. Than you also add the fact that police in Australia are looking for Kyrgios regarding some domestic violence stuff and that he could get a couple of years of prison time....that will not help his concentration.

Anyway my initial bets for today is for underdogs to take at least 1 set and over games.

So he got the job done in 3 sets today, I wonder how these allegations are affecting him?

Despite his injury Nadal still managed to win the fourth set and carried the game to the final set. To be honest, I thought that it was the end for Nadal after the score came to 4-4. However he broke service one more time and won the set. I think that the game is still balanced now. Vamos Rafa!
Amazing skills from Nadal even injury is having his effects but still he is managing very strongly because I was not sure about him to do something like this.

Right now we are in fifth set with score of 3 - 3, and he is giving his best I am not sure who is going to win because it's not easy for any player to give his best at this stage here Fritz Taylor is also doing amazing job and now with this we can expect some more quality games from this player in coming tournaments. Because, now it's time for these youths to give their best and sidelined these B-3 three already dominate nearly 2 decades in this game and achieve too many trophies with their quality and skills.

I still bet on Taylor. I don’t know who will win but it seems to me this is an obvious value bet since the chances of both players are 50/50 but I was able to bet with odds of 2.5. In general, it will be strange if almost all the failed games from the side of the favorites turn into a comeback, so I hope that I have a chance.
