Alcaraz has just win Miami Tournament! 2 set vs 0!
7-5 6-4
it was not easy on first set but at the end he is collecting a well deserved title.
It was not really hard to bet on him since the other match they have played has been clearly win by the Spanish.

The odds offered on Alcaraz winner against Ruud are not high, but the Spanish seems to be the favorite.
There is only one precedent between the two players.
About a year ago they played a game that ended with Alcaraz victory (6-2 6-4) even if it was another surface much more suited to his playing characteristics.

Personally I will try to play a bet during the "live" match hoping for a 10% more odds.
It is a risk (because I could also get 10% less) but it is worth it to maximize the final result.

Today the women tournament ends with the match between Osaka and Swiatek!
I have my idea of how the match will end, but I keep it to myself Wink

Clay is not his surface and that is why he choose to go for operation now. He usually plays just RG and one tournament before that. Hell, he played just 2 matches on clay in 2020 and lost both of them. 2021 was a bit better but record of 5/3 is nowhere near what top 5 players should have on clay.

He will try to get back into form for grass season where he has realistic chances for some points even though hard court is by far his best surface.

Yes, exactly. Now is the perfect time for him go for the operation. As he said, he's been playing with it for a while... so he could continue to play with it for longer if he wished, but instead he chose the most convenient time. Not only is he less likely to score ranking points and win tournaments on clay, but also he has fewer ranking points to defend at this point in the season. Makes perfect sense. And yes he won't be 100% if he does play in France.

The main question now is whether Medvedev will be ready for the French Open?
He will not be ready and he does not even care. Maybe he will show in RG to collect the check and loose in first round. Clay is not his surface and that is why he choose to go for operation now. ''Russian world number two Daniil Medvedev's participation in the French Open has been put in doubt after he decided to have surgery that he says will sideline him for up to two months.''
'"The last months I have been playing with a small hernia," said Medvedev.
''Together with my team I have decided to have a small procedure done to fix the problem."

"I will likely be out for the next 1 - 2 months and will work hard to be back on court soon. Thanks for all the support.''

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/60966957

It seems that we have now received an answer as to why Medvedev has played some weaker tennis matches lately.
This surgery came at a very inconvenient time for Medvedev and will stop him from marching towards the top of world tennis.
Djokovic and Nadal are probably happiest with this news  Cheesy
The main question now is whether Medvedev will be ready for the French Open?

I have shifted my betting to both Rollbit and Nitrogensports instead of
Sportsbet but I have some Satoshi's still on Sportsbet which I cant transfer out,
I checked the odds on Alcaraz and they are not bad IMO, Alcaraz 1.34 v 3.35 Ruud
and  I've put a "sure bet" of 0.2mBTC on Alcaraz to take 1 set also on Sportsbet.

Rollbit have Alcaraz to win @ 1.32 and Nitrogensports 1.30
I am gonna argue that clay surface suited Ruud even more than Alcaraz. Alcaraz has the game for all surfaces while Ruud had all his best results on clay. Alcaraz is enormous favorite to win this match in my opinion. I have ultra high stake bet on him to win @1.4 and another high stake bet on Alcaraz winning 2:0 in sets @2. I am practically building my bank on games like this and this type of bets make or break my betting balance in the yearly spreadsheet.

I know I will be nervous during the match even if it gets close, rooting for 6:1 6:1 and peace of mind Smiley

I was shocked to see the final score on the Osaka vs Swiatek match, Swiatek completely dominated Osaka specially in the second game wherein she score a bagel in the finals.

Well, if you look at her winning path, Swiatek registered twice 6-0 wins if I'm not mistaken. But this is finals so I'm not expecting here to score like that specially against a come backing Osaka.

So congrats to Swiatek, Sunshine double winner.

Swiatek won 6-4 6-0 against Osaka . This is a big result and Swiatek destroyed Osaka and Osaka was playing really good in this tournament. Swiatek also with this title and win is one step closer to that first place in the world and its just a matter of time when she will grab it

Yeah, it was a good win for me as well as Swiatek covered the handicap points. I think the pressure is on Osaka in this game, but as we can see in the score, Swiatek was really above any girls in the tournament.

I have Alcaraz to win in the finals against Hurkacz -3.5 at 1.79.

''Spanish teenager Carlos Alcaraz will play Casper Ruud in the Miami Open final after beating Poland's defending champion Hubert Hurkacz for the biggest result of his flourishing career.''
'"It's something that you dream of when you are a child," said Alcaraz.''
''I'm going to approach the final like a first round, trying to mask the nerves," the world number 16 added. "I'm going to enjoy it, it's going to be a great final."

A new tennis star seems to have been born.
I like his games, and even more his attitude and work ethic.
It reminds me of Nadal at his age.
The old stars are at the end of their careers, and Alcaraz looks like a future great tennis champion. What do you think?
It seems to me that the new generation is definitely ready to take over the top of world tennis from Nadal and Djokovic.

Wow,we are gonna have a new masters winner. I think with how good Alcaraz is playing that he will win, also i think its time for him to win a his first big tournament. The new generation isnt taking over the tennis world. The problem currently is that Nadal is injured and that Djokovic is unable to play.Once they return it will go back to normal
This. Nadal already showed he is untouchable when playing uninjured this season and I am a bit concerned for competition when Djokovic is allowed to play. He will be motivated like he wasn't for a long time and I am thinking we could start seeing some 6:1 6:1 victories form his side even against "top" players.

Younger generation has some good players but nobody has consistency and mental strength of Djoko or Nadal. That is best seen on Grand Slams and that is why we have so small number of GS winners outside of the big 3.

Alcaraz v Ruud - It has to be Alcaraz and thats where my $'s and Satoshi's are placed,
the guy seems to be getting stronger with every tournament. He has only dropped
one set this tournament and despatched Tsitsipas easily enough.
I watched Ruud vs. Cerundalo and it was quite bad performance from both players. Even though result looks convincing for Ruud in the end he was not very good at that match and made a lot of unforced errors. If he does not play couple of orders better in the final he will lose with maybe just 2 or 3 games to his name.

My money is also on Alcaraz, I just hope the odds will be good but I doubt it. Never like to place bets for future. I always bet just a couple of hours before it starts to have maximum info.

^^ I will also have Swiatek in this game, -3.5 still good odds at 1.98 right now.

They are in a contrasting style, Osaka more or her power and the groundstroke game, but I think Swiatek can offset it with her accuracy. It could go to three sets though, but eventually Swiatek will came out the winner.

My prediction about the winner from few days ago looks good so far. I said Alcaraz or Kyrgios would be the only ones I could consider betting on. While there were still Medvedev, Zverev, Tsitsipas and Sinner in the draw.

Medvedev just proved that he actually does not deserve to be no.1, on two tournaments where he need "some" points to secure no.1 spot for some time, he won "next to nothing", and that is a mentality issue, which puts him far from no.1 player
nevertheless, competition is scarce these days, and he was lucky, but Alcaraz could change that soon enough, since all the others that you listed (Zverev, Tsitsipas and Sinner) are also far from no.1 spot mentality

will be interesting to see Hurkacs (did not tracked his score in Miami) with Alcaraz, bet is still on Alcaraz

True, I think Alcaraz is still going to be the favorite against, Hurkacz. Medvedev though, do you guys think that he has pressure on his shoulder as he is climbing to the ranks? He didn't win in the Sunshine tournament, and specially against Hurkacz, he could have a good chance specially when he comes back in the first set only to fall into the tie break. But in the second set, he was totally dominated. So it could have been a mental issue for him right now.

He did say in the post match interview that he thought the heat had affected him
and that he was struggling with it. Its hard to know with Medvedev or any player
really which goals are more important than others, maybe there are multiple goals
with equal importance, IDK. Is there pressure on Medvedev for the #1 spot
?Its hard to tell.

Pegula vs Świątek the next semifinals!
Swiatek won with an impressive performance, and this year she's been amazing, at final will face Osaka this match is very likely to last 3 sets, this year she is already win 2 WTA 1000 and could be this the third for her and I bet for her to lift the throphy.

It will be Swiatek vs Osaka for the finals in the womens side.

Might be a 3rd set, I do agree, Osaka will have to play perfectly against Swiatek if she wanted to win in this tournament. If I'm not mistaken, this is Osaka's first final appearance after a long time so the pressure is on her to perform very well. Current line for Osaka ML @2.4.

I'm betting on Swiatek, I think she is the stronger of the two ATM and I think
Osaka is still very emotional which could be her downfall if things get in top of her.
Its fantastic to see her back in a final but today I'll bet with the stronger player.
