Personally, I was delighted by the news of the great return of the young Croatian tennis player Ana Konjuh after a severe and long-lasting injury.
This young girl has not given up on her tennis career and seems to be on the verge of returning to the top of world tennis after a magnificent victory against the winner of the French Open Iga Swiatek.
''World No.338 Ana Konjuh has progressed to the round of 16 at the Miami Open after defeating Iga Swiatek 6-4, 2-6, 6-2.''
4 years ago she was a great hope of world tennis until she was stopped by a serious injury.
Magnificent return, bravo Ana!

This is a good comeback for her, many tennis players have to fight very hard after being injured, her victory over Swiatek is not easy because Swiatek is a tough opponent.

The match between Kei Nishikori vs S. Tsitsipas quite interesting to watch later today, Tsitsipas is the favorite to win this match because he is the seed in this tournament, but Nishikori will be his tough opponent for him, my predictions this match will be held in 3 sets.

Zverev suffered a surprising defeat by Ruusuvuori, World number 83, in the Miami Open, losing 1-6, 6-3, 6-1 to the Ruusuvuori.
This surprising defeat happened at the Miami Open tennis tournament.
Zverev is a great tennis talent but he still seems to lack consistency and stability in the game.
It will probably come with more experience in tennis matches.

I think this adds to my point in my previous post about the top ranked players starting the tournament in the later rounds. This is why we see so many upsets in these tournaments over the years and will continue to see upsets in the future. Alex de Minaur 15th seed and 13th Cristian Garín also lost but its great to see Raonic and Tsitsipas make it through to the next round.

Just over a week ago, Zverev won the Acapulco Open and now he is out. This year is really full of surprises as there are a lot of upsets, except for Grand Slams.

I do hope that Tsitsipas will make it to the finals, he lost to Zverev in the last tournament, it's a tough lost but I'm sure it will just make him stronger in this tournament.

A lot of suprises every tournament, look at Dubai Karatsev won his first ever tournament easily. Zverev is probobly tired from the last tournament and should now focus on clay because of rolan garros. But the big 3 will win everything again, probobly not Federer but Djokovic is in great form and Nadal is the king of clay.

I'm glad I took Simona Halep last night as I had some big emotions when I saw her getting called for a doctor because of the pain at shoulders, but after that massage she managed to comeback and win the game but to be honest, Garcia really played well and she deserved at some point to win but you also need to have that desire to close the game instead of giving another chance for opponent to comeback.

I hope this tourney will tight the WTA difference in ranks as Barty have too many points to be catch by anyone anytime soon  Grin Osaka really shines lately and I think she has the best position to catch Barty.

@slaman29 this is an excellent chance for these 3 to step up their game, and show to the world that they’re ready to replace the big 3. Also I’m spoiled for choices as all 3 player’s look good, but I personally feel that Zverev has a good chance and then followed by Medvedev.

Some mid table favorites went out yesterday including Anderson and Chardy, so yeah definitely looks better and better every day that passes and the big 3 will be eyeing all the later rounds to see who they might have to meet up in the next Grand Slam.

Still haven't decided to take any outcome yet:) Good luck to you!
I hate how the draws get made for this ATP 1000 series. Top seeds have not played a single match and it is already Thursday  Huh

It is supposed to help them since they have to play less games to win tournament but all those other guys already have at least one match under their belt. Don't be surprised if some of the favorites have a rocky start today.

I think this is why we see so many upsets in these tournaments over the years because the players that play through the whole tournament can have some what of an advantage on how the surface is playing and also by having match fitness while the top players need to wait for the later rounds.

Since the big 3 will be out of the Miami Open, who do think that has a good chance to win this tournament? It's going to be a good opportunity for others in the top 10 to break in the winning column here.

For one, Medvedev should be a good candidate here and so is Zverev and Tsitsipas. But there are also a lot of good players in this pandemic, outside of the top 5 or top 10 that can pull a surprise here.
Medvedev now is the number two player not only in the ranking but in his performance too and i think that he is the most favorite one along side rublev and zverev but we could see some unexpected players as well like karatsev who has climbed the ranks quickly and he is performing very well or bautista agut who has gained some of his previous form and he is though to beat.
Yes, Medvedev should be a strong candidate and I think this surface also suit him well. I read that there are no pressure on his shoulder, but I doubt that, climbing to 2nd rank is difficult, and maintaining it is much harder. So he needs to prove and take advantage of the big 3 not in this tournament to at least solidify his position. Karatsev or Bautista Agut is also a good candidate as well.

Yes, this is a great opportunity for young players to win this tournament, especially if look at the list of champions, none of them have ever won this tournament, from the list of players who played in this tournament only John Isner has ever won it.
https://www.atptour.com/en/tournaments/miami/403/overview

D. Thiem has the same chance as the list you have mentioned, it's just that this year he hasn't shown a good performance. Aslan Karatsev might come back to give surprises to the top players because at the moment he is still showing a nice performance.

Is Asian Karatsev in this tournament? If yes, as the top 3 or even consider it top 4 including Murray not entering the Miami Open, I would like the chances of Karatsev here as the big underdog to even reach the finals.

Top 3 will be Medvedev and then Zverev who just won the Mexico leg beating Tsitsipas. And there could be no names breaking into this tournament and pull a giant killing.
Yeah Karatsev played in this tournament, what he showed from the Australian Open to the Dubai Open was impressive, and he is one Russian player besides Medvedev, Rublev and Khachanov who is seeded in this tournament, we'll see how far he can go here.
Till this day the match results are still in accordance with the predictions that no top player has lost yet

Well it does open up the doors for a young up and comer to win the Miami Open as it has been dominated by Djokovic and Federer over the years so lets see which young talent can win. If Medvedev can reach the finals, he will extend he's lead over Nadal in the rankings as it is a ATP master 1000 event. I'm liking Tsitsipas to reach the final and hopefully he can get the win at a major tournament.

I think that there is a high chance that both zverev and tsitsipas will reach the final of this tournament. If this happens it would be a rematch of the final of acapulco which zverev won 2-0.
But on their way to the final there are a lot of other strong players that they need to beat first. Medvedev as you mentioned, but also Dimitrov, Fognini, Bautista Augut, Goffin, Schwartzmann and many more.
Even if the Big 3 are not participating there are still a lot of top players in this tournament.

I didn't know they weren't all playing, looking at the outrights markets here now the favorite is clearly Medvedev at 3.5x but I would definitely be looking at Tsitsipas for over 10x. Maybe even someone like Nishikori at 66x:)

But maybe the better outrights are Zverev verses Tsitsipas? (Who goes furthest).
