I am back for a while in Tennis section :-)

Two match I am going to follow today:
Tsitsipas vs Nadal
and
Djokovic vs Schwartzman

I am expecting a final between Djokovic  vs Nadal.

Other day I saw my man Theim D to lost :-( Felt bad for him.
Should be an easy match for djokovic with him beating theim in spain last weekend. If tsitsipas manages to beat nadal then we will have another rematch of the final in madrid. Cheesy
Djokovic is looking to be coming back and playing like he used to and is looking comfortable as worlds number one again.

Its not good news for Federer as he had to pull out of his match with Stefanos Tsitsipas as he has sustained a right leg injury in Thursday's match. We were so close to maybe seeing Federer v Nadal but it wasn't to be, now Tsitsipas will have to face a red hot Nadal however as we know Tsitsipas beat Nadal last week in Madrid so can he do it again?

I am thinking Nadal will have a much easier job of winning here than in Madrid. Madrid is on higher altitude and much faster surface which suited Tsitipas better. Furthermore, Nadal now knows what to expect and I am sure he prepared some tricks to break the game of his opponent. I am a bit afraid that this one will be very one sided but we shall see.

Meanwhile federer was looking to be being beat in his match but he put on the afterburners and has come back against coric and will look to win this match to advance on into the italian open.

Coric had him in this match but Federer managed to win it in 3rd set tie break. Coric even had a match ball and made an unforced error. After that Federer won all the remaining points. Anyway it was a good match and Federer needed some time to get going. Could be because this was his secod match today after not playing for quite some time.
I really thought coric would beat him since federers play was lack luster in the first set and he managed to make coric shot easy shots into the net which cost him the second set.
Didnt know this was his second of two matches played on the same day. No wonder his play looked lethargic in the first set losing 6 to 2.
Agree with the post above mine. Coric shouldnt be ashamed of how he played because it is federer after all and he can still produce unbelievable shots even if he is down in a set to rally back to win.

Well we all know about Kyrgios and what he has done so I'm not going to continue on with the topic and instead talk about Federer who got a early scare in his match with Borna Coric as Federer lost the first set 6-2 but fought back well to win the match. Federer's 1st serve win percent was way down compared to Coric which is why it was a hard fought win by Federer and that's what Champions do best, come back and win even though they have been dominated in the match.

Federer proved the old saying right where there’s a will there’s a way, despite being down he fought like a champion and won the game. Coric should not be disappointed with this result, instead he should feel proud that despite his inexperience he came close to causing an upset. In another news Maria Sharapova has pulled out the French Open which is sad, as I was hoping she could participate and reclaim her glory days.

I thought that Coric will take this one against Federer. But knowing Roger, he has the heart of a champion. Was able to compose himself, fought back, elevate this game to take the win. Rafael Nadal had an easy time against Basilashvili, winning 6-1,6-0. While Ruud run had ended in the hands of Del Potro.

Kyrgios was always a spectacle with borderline un-sportman like conduct. Some players are ok with that and some are hating him for that. Public generally liked that because he brings a little bi of drama in otherwise very by the book sport. I get sick of same press releases where every player always finds something good to say about his opponents play no matter how bad that one played.

I agree that this time Kyrgios went over the line and he deserves what will probably be a lengthy suspension.
I personally like Kyrgios when he's playing at his best level and he really puts some effort into his game because he basically unstoppable against almost any player. But most of the times he comes into the court with literally no interest in playing tennis and he does everything he can to get out of that match as soon as possible regardless of the outcome of the match. I can understand the frustration of a player when he misses a lot of shots and he breaks his racket but this time Kyrgios really crossed the line by hitting everything that was in his way including chairs and water bottles. I like him a lot as a player but I think in this case he deserves a suspension for what he did even though that's probably a good thing for him rather then a a disaster.

^^. He should be banned indefinitely, un-sport man like conduct. I don't know what causes his tantrums but this guy is uncontrollable.

Kyrgios has always had a hot temper and this is just the way he has a sense of somewhat control over his game.
He is never going to change. Throwing a chair on the court is just pure insane and yes he should have some kind of disciplinary action taken because this is unacceptable for the atp rules of sportsman like conduct.

Speaking of Nick Krygios, had another tantrum today,

Quote
(Reuters) - Nick Kyrgios was defaulted from his second round Italian Open clash against Norway's Casper Ruud on Thursday after the hot-headed Australian hurled a chair on to the court.

World number 36 Kyrgios, who was broken in the third set, threw his racket to the floor before kicking a water bottle and flinging a chair towards the centre of the court.

Ruud was leading 6-3 6-7(5) 2-1 when Kyrgios was disqualified.

LOL, this dude really loss everything  Grin. I mean we know his tantrums on the court that's why he is so inconsistent, but today was one of the worst we have seen so far. I think he will be suspended again after this incident.

So it will be Ruud vs Del Potro in the next round.

Only thing I hate about tennis are this damned rain delays. I put a beautiful accumulator today with selection of tennis games from Rome. Of course, not a single match was played due to rain delay. Ah, well tomorrow should be a better weather with just occasional shower.

Damn, that rain was a momentum breaker if I may say. I'm sure all players are zone in already, but this kind of delay because of rain, will have a impact to the players, psychologically. So let's see how it goes.

Was also suprise Zverev lost as well, he had a terrible start, his record on court? 4-6. So I don't know how he will perform on the next big tournament.

At least Krygios is now through to the next round, winning against number 12 seed Medvedev.  Fognini won against J. Tsonga as well. Cilic leading Bassco right now. Goffin stunned Wawrinka while Zverev and Berrettini are fighting in out in the first set. Still a long way to go, we will see more seeded players later and looks like there will be more interesting match to see.

Yes it was good to see Krygios make it through to the round of 32 and he should be able to beat Casper Ruud who is his next opponent however with Krygios we just never know what he will do so I'm not confident on him winning. The round of 32 is where all the action starts with the big names playing so its going to be a great 4 days of tennis and to see who wins this tournament heading into the French Open. Can Nadal bounce back after not winning in the previous two tournaments on clay and win the title here?

I wouldn't be surprised if he can't win against Ruud today.  Grin. Nadal will go up against Nardy, so I'm expecting Nadal to steam roll through the next round., and so as Federer vs Sousa. Thiem vs Verdasco will be a good match, Verdasco won against Edmund so I'm sure he will get Thiem a tough time but I guess Thiem will win.

On the women's side, Serena Williams withdraw from the tournament because of knee injury. She should have face her sister Venus in the next round. She said though that she is expecting the injury to heal by the time the French Open starts. Some upset, Azarenka trying to regain her old form defeated number 5 seed Svitolina.

Krygios looks in fine form beating Medvedev and even playing some trick shots along the way. Now I'm still not confident in him making the semi finals however hopefully he starts to play some good tennis which he can then take into the French Open. Zverev losing to Matteo Berrettini was a big upset so far this tournament, I'm not sure if something is wrong with Zverev because he just hasn't looked like playing at his top form.

Looks like Chardy beat gasquet because my bet parlay won from the rain delay they had the night before.
Rome should be an interesting matchup since it is still early in the tournament and their have been some major upsets already.
Still waiting for the french open to make some good bets on the favorites to win in roland garros. Smiley
