Roger Federer never allows himself to have it easy in any finals.
Especially the last Australian Open when he was playing against Nadal. He had to take a medical timeout when he looked like he was going to lose it but then after the break (inwhich I think if he didn't take it he would of lost to Rafael and then my bet of 50mbtc would of won ah well. Would've, could've!) he came back like a phoenix out of the fire to win it easily.
Sort of like this match which the final frame was 6-1 in Federer's favor

He managed to do it yet again.
The old dog in the tournament has his day! Grin
Congratulations Roger you can now retire and let the youngster have a go at it. Wink

Ah, Fedex really made me happy two Grand Slams in a row, but yeah, I thought he could have given himself an easier time. Both were tired by the final so I thought RF would have tried to bring it to a quick end, guess the Croatian wasn't quite ready to give up so easily. I said last year he had at least 1 left in him, and am happy to have bet on him having yet another. Probably best time to retire like you say while he's on a high but so tempting to have money on him again if he joins another tourney... the way he turns back the clock would make anyone get the shivers!

My betting's been really crap for the Women's, (even last year) so I should really probably stick to men's from now on.

I don't think he will retire soon, giving his form and motivation to go on. At the moment the other players are struggling with injuries (Murray, Nadal, Djokovic), so Federer has a good chance to win some more tournaments and grand slams!

I think for him the age will not matter, he is still fit, and he can have the capability to win some more events. And the other senior players are struggling with injuries so this is an advantage for him to win other tournaments. I think this is not a good time for retire, but he wants to take stop his play when he is in good form then it is a good time. Anyway, congrats Federer for his 20th grand slam.

Congrats to Federer on winning his 6th Australian Open title and for winning 20 Grand Slam titles which is a huge achievement. I think he would have to be the greatest sports athlete in history. Even at his age he is still able to compete at his best and he doesn't even look like slowing down anytime soon. I thought that Cilic played well in stages but at the vital times he was just not good enough. That 2nd set was one of Cilic best but in the 3rd Federer bounced back strong. It was a great final to watch.

Congratulations to Federer on yet another Grand Slam title. I watched parts of the match and Cilic really played well in 2nd, 3rd & 4th set. Unfortunately he had bad entrance to the match and small breakdown in fifth set. Federer kept his game steady which was enough today.

Cilic didn't look all that sad after the match. I think he is happy with 2nd place, and he should be. If someone offered it to him before the tournament started he would have taken it immediately. Federer on the other hand was very emotional which shows how much these grand slam titles mean to him.

What do you guys think of today's match? Can Federer easily beat Cilic in straight sets? I am planning to bet on under3.5 for a total number of sets and Federer to win in straight sets. What do you guys think of my picks? Please suggest if any better bet is there for this match.
Hoping to see a tremendous final though my bets are opposed to a close encounter. A classic irony of human behavior. Grin

Roger Federer has done it again! He just won his 6th Australian open and his 20th grand slam title! I didn't see the match, so I can not comment on that, but according to the reports, it was a nice and exciting match with Federer coming on top  Grin.
Roger Federer didn't have it easy at all, Marin Cilic made sure that he really worked hard for that win and it was indeed a very good final and a great challenge for Federer to win his 20th Major Grand Slam, its amazing that the younger Cilic got tired whiles Federer kept going strong.

Nope I don't think so , if you have seen previous matches then you will see how well Cilic has played throughout the tournament , he had a shaky start to the tournament but as the tournament went on he has started playing some amazing tennis with great confidence so yeah Federer might win the match but not in straight sets according to me.

I knew the Women's final would live up to being a great match. Congrats to Caroline Wozniacki on winning her first ever Grand Slam and for also becoming the world number #1. Simona Halep put on another great performance but this time wasn't able to get the job done, she had the toughest run through and deserved to be rewarded with a win but in sports the one that has fought hard to make it normally loses. Not to take anything away from Wozniacki because she played a great tournament as well and this was her time to finally win a Grand Slam title.
Halep was exhausted according to me otherwise she would have done it . I think she deserves it more than Wozniacki but I am happy for her and congrats to her for getting back to number 1 position . Today lets see if Federer an make it 20 or Cilic wins his first Australian title.

I am betting all Croatian winners for this grand slam. Maybe I am biased because I am from Croatia but after seeing Pavic lift doubles trophy today I think he will do it in mixed doubles as well.

Cilic vs. Federer will be a tough one because Federer is obviously a favorite but I see great value in Cilic win @4.50. H2H is heavily on Federer side but Cilic already managed to win in straight sets in US Open semi finals so he will believe he can win tomorow. I will probably take same handicap (games or sets) on my big money ticket to make it extra secure. For now I am leaning towards bet that Cilic will not lose with 7 or more games @ 1,6.

I am surprised that Caroline Wozniacki won the Australian Open playing against Simona Halep. Just wow! Shocked
https://www.si.com/tennis/2018/01/27/caroline-wozniacki-simona-halep-australian-open-2018-title-tennis-world-reactions

And I was going to put some bitcoin on Halep to win it in straight sets.
Congratulations on her very first Open win in her long career.
She is 27 years old and that is getting quite old for the womens side of a tennis career.

Well, Wozniacki was highly rated in the last Grand Slam, so I suppose this victory wasn't entirely surprising. I mean, she's top seed anyway! Anyone remember the odds on her pre-tournament to win it? Shouldn't have been too bad. Still, congratulations are in order. Age is a funny thing too, Serena won it last year at 36!

Speaking of veterans, tomorrow 36-yr old Federer should win this, anyone with lingering doubts should see how he stormed through without losing a single se. Putting good money on a straight win, and I might go for a low points bet too... except I think he'll be a bit tired by the final.

Federer just won the semi-final against Chung who retired due to physical problems.
Federer seemed significantly stronger than Chung.
King Roger Federer now can win his 20th title slam in career!
He would won the game regardless because he was already leading the second set by 5-2 before Chung retired due to the injury.Federer is indeed going to win Title once again and I do hope he doesn’t have an injury because that seems to be the latest trend now.

What an anticlimax! Too bad Chung needed to retire due to blisters, but Federer would nevertheless have won easily. The final against Cilic will perhaps be a challenge, but chances are quite high that Federer will win yet another grand slam!

Yeah it was a shame that Chung had to retire with blisters, Federer was dominate and would of won the match anyway but I never like to see a match end early on but sometimes these things can't be helped. It now makes for an epic Grand Slam final which I still think Federer will win and make it 20 Grand Slam titles even though Cilic has been in super hot form, its hard to go past Federer though.

I'm looking forward to the Women's final tonight as I'm sure its a going to be an epic battle between two great players. I'm going for Halep even though she has had the tougher run through to the final.

Bit disappointed the game finished in the middle, I was expected some good fight from Chung. Anyway bad luck and now final match I think it is going to become a high voltage game b/w Federer vs Cilic. The ods are a favor to Federer if we take chance and choose Cilic we may have little chance to win good amount in this game.

I see Federer in great physical shape, and during the tournament he has always improved reaching the final to the maximum of his power.
I am convinced that he will easily win 3-0 or 3-1.
So, Federer will win his 20th title slam and will reduce his gap by Nadal to 155 points!

Federer is the favorite in the final but this time I am expecting Cilic to give a good fight. He is in great physical shape and has had a day more for resting and preparing. Cilic has also come out this season with more aggressive mindset and he already has experience of beating Federer 3:0 in US Open semi finals.

I will wait for Sunday to see the odds the bookies will offer but I believe I will take some handicap on Cilic. He has the power to take 2 sets if not the match.

Anyway we should have a good match this time, I was really disappointed with Wimbeldon final when Cilic played injured and Federer breezed trough.
The head to head between the two players shows that Federer has won eight of the games whiles Cilic has won just a single game and that was in 2014 in the US Open semi fianls. My money is definitely on Federer to win and make history.
