Ben Shelton only showed a glimpse of what he can do on court and I'm sure we'll see him in later stages of Grand Slams. Third set was actually ok and Djokovic was struggling with Ben's serve and powerful shots. Ben lost focus a bit during the tie-breaker which turned out decisive for him.
This time Djokovic hadn't taken risk. From the beginning of the match he kept things under control and wants it to be a must win. From the beginning continued to keep things under control and the third set performance was something unexpected from Shelton. Expected the same as the Wimbledon and this time it is Djokovic vs Medvedev. Lets see if this match gonna have the same heat as the match between Alcaraz and Djokovic.

No risk taking and straight forward enough for Djokovic, got the job done in 3 sets.

Not so easy for Alcaraz, really thought he would beat Medvedev. I only saw some
highlights and from them the match looked really high quality. So will Medvedev
be able to win his second U.S Open title? its really a replay of the last time he won it.

Djokovic is favourite @ 1.39 but Medvedev is definitely worth a bet @ 3.0 IMO.

Ah Coco has done really well, she is indeed hitting top form these last few weeks
and she seems to be progressing as a lot of pundits have said in so far as being a future
Grand Slam winner and a future #1.

If she manages to win from Sabalenka tomorrow I dont believe it will be the last
Grand Slam final we will she her competing in.

Its going to be close as the odds suggest, Gauff 1.98 - 1.80 Sabalenka

Funny thing is that see is 19 years old and its like she has been forever on the tour. She has a first chance to win a grand slam but i dont think she will be anytime soon no1 while Swiatek and Sabalenka are on top. They are a level above other players . Still it would be a huge step towards no1 if Gauff wins but im going with Sabalenka in this match.

Looking at the odds they reflect an even enough match ahead. Gauff is 2.0 and
Sabalenka is 1.83, Gauff is definitely worth a bet.

And yes even at 19 she isnt a newbie and has a lot of experience.

Nole is having one of his most comfortable games in semi finals.
The first two sets were really comfortable but then in the third set he made many errors and went to the tiebreak but Novak Djokovic was too good for the youngster and reached his 10 US open finals and most probably his 24th grand slam title.

Waiting for the Daniil Medvedev and Carlos Alcaraz match and it is going to be a tough battle and expecting Carlos Alcaraz to move to the final.

Right now Djokovic is playing against Shelton the Semi-final and ... more or less there are no issues for the serbian player that is leading 2 set at 0.
Despite the US player is not playing bad, there is difference between the two players and probably the odd pre-match @10 was "well deserved" Roll Eyes

Nole passed first two rounds without using much of his energy. He'll stay fit for the final if he can finish the game in third set.
I didn't follow the game closely because of our national football team match but it looks like there's nothing exciting. Nole is having one of his most comfortable games in semi finals.

As predicted Coco Gauff have won a break point at the second game and now she leads 5-2. This is going to be completely one sided match. The young Coco is playing great and the upcoming match favourite is Sabalenka. After the Madrid Open win, Sabalenka hadn't won any titles. Does this be a winning tournament for Sabalenka??
Coco Gauff has been playing very impressive tennis since the Cincinnati tournament and continued at the US Open, it wasn't so predictable that she would make it to the finals, I thought Muchova would put up a tougher fight in the semifinals, but Gauff is really playing very well.
Sabalenka finally reached the final after having to go through several very difficult moments for her to survive the match. It was quite surprising that Madison Keys played very well in the first set and didn't let Sabalanka get a game, and in the second set Madison was almost to the final after taking the lead and serving the game, but Sabalenka managed to get out of that difficult position, and so did the third set, it's really- really interesting match, and managed to come back so that Sabalenka will face Gauff in the final.
It's likely that Sabalenka will get her second Grand Slam title this year, but Coco Gauff is playing so well that this will be an even final that's hard to predict.

My bet will be on Sabalenka. Gauff ir really really good but Aryna is very focused and hungry for a win. Will be a tough match, most probably we're going to witness 3 exhausting sets. Both girls are fit physically, there are no known injuries to any of the two so they will be playing full strength. Sabalenka, as an ultra attacking player, will be playing against herself more than against Coco really. If her shots will hit the target she is going to win. And so far she is leaving an impression that she will succeed.

Regarding ATP semifinal I will quote myself:

Quote
Second semi-final can bring a surprise as Ben Shelton is on fire in New York. He managed to stop top guys like Thiem, Karatsev, Tommy Paul, Tiafoe etc.

Shelton is young and hungry. He is also incredibly fit. I really hope he is going to win tonight.  Cool

But the next match is going to be a lot harder. He is going to face Alcaraz in the next match. I don't think he will be able to win that match, to be honest.
Alcaraz will play Daniil Medvedev in the next game, he has to be tougher and play better because it is not going to be as easy as this game he just played against Alexander Zverev who claim to not be completely fit. Against Daniil Medvedev, it will be a game between Number One and Number three on the world ranking.
The US Open semifinals between Alcaraz and Medvedev will start tomorrow and it looks like there will be very tight competition in each set of games with the points scored being superior to each other these two players have had very good match results in their previous meetings and there is a possibility Alcaraz got the win to advance to the final.
In the other semifinal match Djokovic also faced Shelton and it was clear that Djokovic would definitely win the match and enter the final.

If it is between Alcaraz and Djokovic in the final then it will be a sensational match and could be a heated final for the US Open.

Its wta semi finals day!!

I love the over 21.5 on gauff vs muchova  , neither of them should win this in a clean 2-0 fashion, greatly expecting a 3 settor

Sabalenka is yet to drop a set so far this open , while this maybe a sucker bet for WTA , i have to go for sabalenka 2-0 here

I have a gut feeling Coco is going to win today. Won't be betting any money on her today though. Sabalenka is a more clear favorite vs Keys. Madison is known for her deteriorating performance during later stages.

Nice call!
I was wrong on both of mine, wta can be really hard to predict Sad

Mens semi finals today and im all over medvedev, 4x to win, over games and game handicap.

Djokovic - shelton match shouldnt even be a contest but will root for shelton to make it hard for djoker  Grin

Medvedevs best surface is hard court and i think he will give a lot of troubles to Alcaraz. Alcaraz is in really good form so this match will be really good if they are both on the top level. I dont know who can win here for me they are equal and i think it might be over in games for sure

Yeah, won't be a pleasant walk in a park for Alcaraz. Medvedev is going to win a set or two but it's Alcaraz who is going to proceed to the final.

Unfortunately, Zverev could not deliver a fight against Alcaraz. His body simply had no more power. But he probably also suffered a thigh injury during the match. There are many indications of a tear. Hopefully he will be fit again soon. In any case, he can be happy that he will be back in the top 10 after the tournament.

Sometimes I think Dennis metals are being held pretty quickly. The players are actually not getting enough time to recover. A tennis player has an average traveling distance of almost 6/7 km in a single match. That is almost the same as the average traveling distance of a football player. Just because the tennis court is very small compared to a football field, we do not realise this. And in football, a player generally only plays one match a week. And even after that, if he is injured, he can be replaced with other players. Of course, football is a lot of physical compared to tennis. No one is trying to kill you to keep you from scoring. But the distance that are generally traveled by a tennis player is really high. Sometimes this is a big reason why tennis players are not able to perform as well as they should.

Tonight great showdown of the upper, arguably more "deadly" part of the draw. Two great matches each of them could have easily been a final:
Alcaraz v Zverev
My bet is on Alcaraz, Sascha doesn't look like he's ready for the semifinal of the Grand Slam just yet.

Medvedev v Rublev
This one is trickier. Rublev is in great form, Medvedev is a well-known hard court specialist and a US Open champion. Still my bet will be on Daniil in this Russian derby.
Alcarez really gave no chance to Zverev eh ? I mean , he really wants to "punish" Djokovic and beat him in the finals but I have a feeling that Djoko will beat Alcaraz again if they meet next round.
Medvedev game was kinda the same , with a quick 3-0 and really no chance for Rublev to actually play with tennis.
Two young players Alcaraz and Ben Shelton have qualified for the semifinals. Djokovic is experienced. Medvedev is good through this year winning ATP Rotterdam, Qatar Open, Dubai Tennis Championships, Miami Open, Italian Open. The semifinal matches gonna be very interesting as players are at their best.

The match between Novak Djokovic and Shelton is actually going to be one-sided in my opinion. I know Shelton has done pretty good so far. But in this match I just cannot think he is actually going to beat Novak Djokovic. In my opinion Novak Djokovic is definitely going to the finals.

The match between Alcaraz and Medvedev is going to be a lot more interesting. The number one ranked player versus the number three. This is surly going to be a treat to watch in my opinion. It will definitely be interesting to see Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic in the finals. But for that to happen, Alcaraz will have to beat his next opponent, Medvedev.
